Lyrics:
You must understand though the touch of your hand
Makes my pulse react
That it's only the thrill of boy meeting girl
Opposites attract
It's physical
Only logical
You must try to ignore that it means more than that
Oh, oh, oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
It may seem to you that I'm acting confused
When you're close to me
If I tend to look dazed I've read it someplace
I've got cause to be
There's a name for it
There's a phrase that fits
But whatever the reason you do it for me
Oh, oh, oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
Ooh
I've been taking on a new direction
But I have to say
I've been thinking about my own protection
It scares me to feel this way
Oh, oh, oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a sweet old fashioned notion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
Ooh got to do with it
(What's love but a second hand emotion)
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
(What's love) Oh oh (got to do with it)
(Got to do with it)

    • I mean I say this respectfully. She was 83 when she died. She had a long life. Also this song kinda resembles someone who projects their pain to others and completely blocks their heart to receive love. Its quite a sad song.

Sounds like a good narrative to sell music and crap on black men. We now know women are more domestically abusive, physically & psychologically.🙏

  • The song of a broken woman putting herself back together piece by piece, because her greatest love was her greatest pain. Hearing this song as a child in the 80's I couldn't understand the words, but I still loved the song anyway....might have had something to do with Anna Mae's incredibly powerful and unique voice. When I saw the movie as an adult, then I understood, and I cried for this woman, but we are all blessed because there will never be another like her.

    • This song is about a person only wanting a physical relationship without the complications of calling it love. I’ve always liked it, but never really understood it until adulthood. Sex isn’t always “making love”. Sometimes it’s just sex.

      @deshaunx776@deshaunx7762 жыл бұрын
    • @@deshaunx776 I disagree. It's about a woman who gave her whole heart to her first true love. She was then used, abused, beaten and bloodied by that same true love, over the course of dedcades. This song is a PTSD reaction to love, because what good is love if her life experience is what it can lead to? Who the hell needs it?

Also, may I just say this, some "Guys," go through this feeling too, because you have some women out there that think and believe, that because the legal system favorites them over men that it means they can just put their hands on a man and if he hits her back in (defense) and protection of his own well-being, then that means she can just have him arrested and more! More often than not, It happens and you don't hear about it because women are seen as this fragile creature and men are seen as brute beast, well sometimes that's not always the case, facts! In Tina's case, it was exactly what the world expects but there are plenty of cases where it's the complete opposite and it's not reported on publically.

    • Hold up Angie Johnson, with all due respect, all that BS about MEN being evil, let me respectfully educate YOU about SOME OF US MEN OUT HERE!!...Number one, you don't know EVERY MAN, so let's get that straight right now! Number two, DO NOT, BLAME [GOOD MEN], FOR THE MISTAKES OF THE NEGATIVE ONE'S YOU'VE DATED, or have come in contact with..!! It's because of women who THINK like you about this topic, that have MOST WOMEN believing that most men are horrid beast and WE'RE NOT! Maybe some of you women need to stop running after men with MONEY, FANCY CARS, A BIG HOUSE AND A HIGH PAYING SALARY and learn to run after a man that actually wants to treat you like somebody by GROWING WITH YOU and stop blaming us for the assholes you SEEK for your own reasons, hellerrrrrrr!! Now YOU, have a good day!
