The Chevy Corvette SUV is coming and I'm not surprised. With the success of so many other sports car brands switching over to SUV's to make some more sales, it's really a no brainer. So what are all the rumors about this car? Let's talk about it.

I bet you won't reply to this comment with a fun fact.
hi
Fun fact: sharks never stop growing new teeth
Fun Fact - SUV sales saved Porsche and Lamborghini financially. I hate it too but I have to admit, the C8 design language kinda works with the SUV shape in this concept render.
Fun fact: Since you used a Rocketpoweredmohawk clip, you're now officially added as a "person of interest" by MI6... True Story

Why not just bring back the Trailblazer ss? Or a make a Tahoe SS. That would get way better feed back and something im sure many people want.
Escalade V fills the niche. Tahoe had a performance model only a few years ago, I’ve only seen one on the road.
Unless you've been living under a rock, these super-SUV ARE 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥. Starting off with the Porsche SUV, then the Lambo Uranus, then that new Ferrari SUV
@@toulee8051they are only fire on KZhead or to rich idiots. They aren’t really selling a lot of these in reality.
@@Thumper68in what world are you living in, because in the world I live and where we actually read financial statements, and don't just make things up, the Urus is 60%+ of lambo sales.... It prints money. This is the problem with normal people, you guys just make stuff up, when these companies are literally legally required to disclose this stuff in financial reports which you should be reading because stocks are how the whole economy works.... Fords product/marketing team are a bunch of bozos for thinking they had to carry the Mustang name over to an electric SUV instead of just calling it a Mach-E.
It’s not about marketing, since the mustang has an electric trim it can fit more federal regulations for EV laws😊
@@jordanmcclain4412Why is this good exactly?
@FonikosGazmas it's the reason why they still have the v8 version. Supposedly the combined MPG rating between each trim
@@carlosgonz96 Because they both have the Mustang name? Yeah nah... I call BS on that.
@@carlosgonz96 I believe this is between the entire Ford lineup for accumulative MPG.
No Corvette owner wanted this.
How you think I feel while I drive my mustang around 😢
No one wanted a Urus and look it’s one of the best selling SUV’s
@@EldePHXbecause it's status. There's nothing status about a corvette suv
That’s the best part and why this is so great. Anything that pisses off the cut from the cloth average Corvette owner and makes them stop huffing their own fucking hot farts for a second is just **chef’s kiss**
@@Ginx-pe4siI disagree because they could of got an Aventador for status but SUV's literally appeal to the average person. Ask any non car person and they will think SUVs are the best no matter what.
I guarantee if they don’t call it a corvette it’ll do better than if they do
Thats what we would love to happen, for car enthusiasts we will all hate on it because its called corvette but we are a minority. The majority will buy it just because of the name like the mustang suv.
They can call it a Trailblazer SS
@@angelindaskyz3316 exactly that wouldn’t rub car enthusiasts the wrong way😂
Yeah they screwed the new Blazer with the name
@@angelindaskyz3316just wait, they can call the corvette pickup that lol its coming.
I hate how American Trucks/SUV culture has ruined most of the auto-industry, and by that a market dominated by overly expensive Trucks/SUV's. I loath this with every cell in my body.
it's what people buy there the body style that sells
I hate how people like you cry about this stuff but you never spend any of your money. SUV and truck buyers actually spend money buying cars regularly, so the manufacturers cater to them. How insane would it be if the main car being sold with SUVs and trucks but they still focused on catering to you people who never buy cars. And I read the investor reports. I see how much you guys buy. Screw you guys. You guys cry the loudest, and give the least money. Suv buyers actually buy NEW cars, instead of cry on forums all day, before going back to their old 2000s civic.
@@Tential1 IKR for example ND miata sales are up 50% in 2023 from 4,000 to 8,000 wow big volume seller in Q3 2023 (July to September) they sold 186,000 f series trucks...
@@Tential1 Most of them trade in for newer unneeded models every 2-3 years. They literally trade-in before the vehicle is even paid off. Horrible practice as all you are doing is accumulating negative equity. We’re smart enough not to do foolish behavior like that an demand a better product to take place of what we currently have, which hasn’t really happened since the 80s-90s, again in mid 2000s, and finally over the past 2-4 years bit most people have lost a passion for said vehicle types. Being drowned in a sea of limited options will do that to people. Past that front again we clearly made the better financial decisions as our vehicles actually appreciated overtime, unlike trucks or SUV’s.
The economy dictates what people drive. I live in the UK. We've had a cost of living crisis going on for around a year now and I've noticed the amount of SUV's on our roads steadily decreasing since it started. People are switching back to driving hatchbacks. Same thing happened when the 2008 recession hit.
Vette owners will now be able to fit more golf club sets, in the back, than ever before 😄
Should call the suv the manta ray because it's bigger than a stingray 😂
The Cayenne was thought to be the exception to the rule, but the mach e showed that it was the new rule
At least Porsche didn’t call the Cayenne a 911.
@@revelare_xvii6269 Porsche board room: WRITE THAT DOWN!
People dont hate Cayenne because its not called 911. It would get 3x worse backlash than the suv Mustang, cause 911 are supposed to be lightweight sportscars.
Mom, can we have corvette? No, we have corvette at home.
Next will be the skyline R35 SUV. At least that would change up something with the R35 line after almost 20 years

I dont know why they are doing this. Why not have made "SS" (SuperSport) a brand within GM like Dodge had with SRT and Ford with SVT.

About four years ago, there was a magazine cover that had a four door C7 Corvette that looks way better than the Porsche panamera to be honest,a C7 or C8 would rock the car industry if they would make a four door version.
If they actually put the Corvette engine and chassis on lifted 4 seater version, I'm down! Or a hot hatch shooting brake! Hell yes!
Look up the Callaway AeroWagen.
well a corvette is also a kind of sailing ship, so the fact that they made it a boat makes sense
Newbalance is stoked
I have never owned a crossover, and probably never will, but that crazy C8 inspired digital render in the thumbnail actually looks pretty cool. I mean, I know it would never look like that in real life, but if it came with an v8, a 6-speed manual, and selectable four-wheel drive, I would definitely be interested! ✌️😎👍
If GM makes something like this they need to revive the Typhoon.
GM is run by a woman, dude. Mary Barra hates America and hates cars. Worst stretch in GM's history. It's no coincidence.
What about a corvette motorcycle? Corvette motorhome? The adventures of Super Corvette man cartoon? I met my Corvette under a ‘Sycamore’ tree?
Idk where you got that photo. But man it looks good. It rivals the Urus on looks.
Sporty SUVs make perfect sense to me because people love sports cars but they’re so not practical or really good for daily driving in year-round conditions, which is what most people need a car to be able to do so these sporty SUV is kind of take a lot of boxes and when people buy cars they’re not looking for a car that is the best at one thing they’re usually want something that’s pretty good at everything and that’s what these sporty SUVs are And that’s why they are the bread and butter for companies like Porsche and Lamborghini.
Chevy had two things over Ford One was the LS, the other was not doing this when Ford did the whole Mach E thing.
They make more money on SUVs for now. They pay less tariffs on basically a fattened sports car and all the while sticking more money in their pockets. Follow the money. The same goes for electric cars. One of the main reasons they are trying to shove these things down our throats.
A full-time 4wd sporty suv with “corvette” styling would probably sell well imho :)
As long as it’s rear drive and they do it correctly then I’m all for it we don’t need another blazer
Rear drive?? All wheel drive is many times better. Why in the world would you want a rear wheel drive?
@@Ginx-pe4si a rear based awd platform is better than fwd based the more or less what I meant rwd as the starting point pretty much
I work in Sunny Isles Beach, FL (Miami) and when I say I see 5 Urus' everytime I head to lunch, it isn't hyperbole. Although, that said, I usually also see as many Rolls', Bentleys, G Wagons and 911s, hahaha. It is unreal how many Urus' there are.
Oh my sign me up for a 14mpg suv with no back seat, I need it.
Yep Dave, it's about the money bruh. Though the sight of a Corvette SUV on the road would be pretty inticing and exciting. Hell, I even designed, in fun, a four door C7 Corvette sedan, to compete with the Porsche Panamera and the former Aston Martin Rapide. It'd probably be a limited production model though, IMHO.
For Chevys next trick: BEHOLD! The Suburban sport car/truck/grand tourer/wagon hybrid
A Corvette SUV is like calling the Cayenne a 911. Porsche is a brand, Corvette is a model. Corvette could do a GTC4 Lusso with the LT6 and rear mounted DCT...but a 2+2 would make it a Camaro.
1:40 "write that down write that down" *draws corvette SUV* that made me laugh hard
2:30 That was the Boxster. I imagine the Cayenne helped, but it was ultimately the entry level convertible that saved Porsch
why couldn’t they just make a new high performance SUV unrelated to the corvette?
Well if by high performance. You mean high horsepower. They did that. The Cadillac Escalade cts-v. Although that thing is insanely expensive. Six figures. I want to say it's $120 or maybe even $160? Actually now that I think about it I want to say it's about a 180k.
@@SaotomeNoBaka the escalade is a full size SUV though, im talking about gm making something smaller and sportier with luxuries that would make it stand out from the rest of the gm lineup. something to compete with german midsize suvs such as the rsq8 or the cayenne turbo.
@@watermelon2624 Ah! Okay. That would be dope. Honestly I wouldn't mind an SUV that looked like that thumbnail David is using for the video. Yeah I know it looks like a Vette. But I would be completely down for it if it was all-wheel drive. I wouldn't mind of it was powered by the same plant as the C7 ZO6 variant or of that pushes the price up too high a beefier version of the NA LT would be nice too. Hell they could even toss the LSA in it from the CTS-V caddy. The car not the SUV. I'd be happy with that too.
Why not? I mean at least in Europe, Corvette used to be it’s own brand. A one model brand is just empty. A corvette suv to expand the lineup is pretty neat. It’s like a supercar but suv. that’s great
@@SaotomeNoBaka yea that would be cool i would just want them to call it something other than a corvette
Love seeing RPM clips lol
I’m sure they will have different trim levels just like the Corvette with different engine options they’ll probably have the turbocharge V6 and the base model and then offer the supercharge V8 and the higher-end one
can we bring back the Camino ss?
This isnt April 1st right?
No - Jan. 30th.
Ford did the same thing with the Mustang. Didn't agree with that one either. I wish they would just use a different name. Rebrand / reinvent the trailer blazer SS.
Ha, loved the Rocketpoweredmohawk cameo
Like the Typhoon and Cyclone of yesteryear. Chevy Trooper SS 505 PS
Thumbnail looks amazing 😍
As a 2g and 4g eclipse owner, I would have been into the eclipse cross had they given it more power and sporty af.
Memaw is gonna pick the grand kids up from school in the wide body z06 suv 😂😭
Rocketpoweredmohawk in a TDIB vid? hell yea man
It was inevitable since every other sports car company is doing it like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc etc
Where do you live sir?! I’m in the Sacramento California area and I’ve seen one. Maybe 2?
I've never seen a urus in person. As a car guy, I'd definitely notice
The blazer got the Camaro front grill so it’s not a surprise..
If it looks like the thumbnail that's be pretty dope
I love it; currently on a dealer's list for one...
I think that mock up looks cool. I get tumbler vibes from Batman begins
How to grenade a brand in two easy steps 1:have a valuable brand 2:make said car model that has loyalty an electric suv or car that may be fast but won't sell nor make money due to construction costs
step 3 make a valuable beloved car name into a trash SUV
The trackhawk was a hellcat suv and people loved it 🤷♂️ I'm not a massive fan because of the all time awd but it's a cool car
I like the Crossover EV's myself.. I don't have or drive one but they are fast and most are pretty cool looking..
I’m not mad, if it makes the company money and gives them more budget for the fun stuff we enthusiast love then it’s a good thing!
ya not like chevy doesnt have tons of other cars trucks and suvs that are dead they could revive instead of trashing the corvette name

I def would dig a performance small truck or ladder frame SUV more, but hey, if it sells it sells. Doesnt change a damn thing about the regular Vettes.
Good intro sir 🙋🏽♂️
Hopeful it’s a v8 hybrid wouldn’t be bad with ct5 v black wing or vet engine w hybrid system I need at least 20-25 mpg 😢
I think they'll do the same thing they did with the E-Ray since that is AWD, and manufacturers are going more towards hybrid technology anyways
the render on the thumbnail looks better than the c8
I actually wonder if they would use the E-Ray power train so that there would be an all-wheel-drive SUV option.
What would make more sense to me would be if they took the Cadillac Escalade-V engine and added more power since Corvette is GMs flagship model and the V could not be better performing. An option B would be to take the Escalade-V engine and leave it like it is but make the Corvette SUV way lighter and better handling.
If it looks like that rendering then I think it would be dope. I didn't really like the c8 body style, it looks way better as a suv.
If they dont put the flat plain crank in it and twin turbo it , its not cool 😅... na as a dad i kinda dig the high power suv's ... personally would love a trackhawk if im being honest but that pricetag hurts my azz 😂... peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z fam and have fun
How yeah, NOBODY has done that before. *Cough, trackhawk, couch. Lol
Imagine that the ev corvette concept car is actually the new corvette SUV, Now that will be more a slap in the face then a "gas" SUV. (sorry for my bad english btw😅)
Smart move for Corvette production, for Chevrolet would be, to amle it pracical as possible while carrying the spirit of Corvette. First of all make front overhang shorter, and move engine a little backward longer nose [with I-6] so that it has more weight in the rear axle and practical room in the cabin.
Not going to lie....I really like the look, and I currently drive an Audi B9 SQ5...fast SUV's are a lot of fun and yet so perfect for a daily driver. To bad it will cost over 100k 😢
This was announced a few yrs ago, I believe in 2019. The fact they still can’t pace building the C8 now they want to build SUV’s.
To be honest if they do it right i wouldnt mind. They would have to make it similar to the Trackhawk, like AWD big and comfy. They shouldn't go for the track oriented RWD version, just a big ol boat cruiser thats fast off the line and that's about it.
It would sell to buyers wanting a C8 Corvette but need a usable rear seat and storage. Ford used the same marketing plan successfully with the Mustang Mach E. Like Ford. They understand that most regular vette and Stang owners will not purchase either car unless they already drive a Mustang or Corvette coup but needs another vehicle for the family. Unlike the Mach E being a full EV. I'm guessing the Corvette Cross-8 (Crossover) will likely be some type of PHEV to help Fleet mpg numbers.
Call it the Stingray. SUV body, Corvette mechanicals, name from the Corvette universe - should work
This gave me a good laugh, thank you
So they're gonna be moving the engine to the front again? Because I've never seen a mid engine SUV
My first thought is are they going to build something similar to the Trailblazer SS?
@rocketpoweredmohawk mention is legendary
C'MON DUDE, nobody would ever keep a free Ferrari FF, not even Tyler Hoover. I couldn't imagine anyone not cashing out it's over 100k worth
Not gonna lie, I first thought it was weird that they'd be doing this. But eventually, I started to come to terms and realize that this is probably a cooler thing to attempt at. It'll be a practical, sporty SUV to rival against the Urus and other performance rated SUVs like the Urus and Q8. It'll be very interesting to see the Corvette nameplate on a raised roof, but I genuinely think that eventually me and others will get used to it fast and probably like it a lot. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the SUV and the official reveal, if it comes that is.
How much are you paid by GM to say that !?
@vapor4den Lol, none. Just saying my personal thought out there to get my channel out and such. In no way do I have any promotions just yet lol.
It’s just a big hot hatch it’s actually ridiculous in a good way. I mean if the demand for sports cars come back, coupes will come back too.
@@vapor4denYou guys just want to be little bitches
@@GR-Kevin Just yet you said, I see lol I'm dead, your too honest my friend...
A Vette SUV with a Vista roof and faux naugahyde wood paneling sounds swell. Now, power it by a 1978 3D printed Oldsmobile retro-diesel. This would be the cats whiskers bomb.
Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini didnt use the name of a top selling car to help sell there SUVs. They gave them original names and they sold well on there own. American companies dont trust there manufacturer name to carry that weight enough for the model to sell well on it's own.
If it looks like the thumbnail I honestly would be all on it
This makes total sense. The old guys who buy Corvettes need something easier to get in and out of. It'll sell like hotcakes if they throw in a pair of Nike Air Monarchs.
No joke, they should make a Limited Edition sneaker with New Balance just for owners. Just embrace the meme!
the e ray setup would be cool for the suv
I think it's dope and the trackhawk is pretty much the leading race car right now and it's undoubtedly the fastest thing you can pretty much buy stock
An AWD Vette sounds pretty cool to me. Might be cooler than a Track Hawk. Maybe. But this needs to be well executed for it to work.
AWD V8 Hybrid SUV. Like the E-Ray. That would be not only acceptable but very desirable
If it looks like this illustration, I like it.
That looks like it'd be a ripper in the snow!
I can already picture one in the median, along with all the other SUV drivers who think that they will not only accelerate faster on slippery roads, but stop and steer better too.
@@brooksschneider3441 LOL 😆 I can see that too. Welp, that's what insurance is for I guess 😬
HOLYSHITE THAT'S RocketPoweredMohawk!!!!!!
I'm not surprised in the least. Like you said, a bunch of other sports car/supercar brands have been doing it with huge success so why not corvette? I could see plenty of demand for it.
Not the eclipse cross 😂😂😂😂😂
If they build these they should use the zl1 camaro engines to keep up with the trackhawks
too bad itll never be as cool as the trailblazer ss was as the companion suv to the 06-09 vettes. those things were underrated as hell, id love to see more cool shit like thatfrom gm like how the hellcats have the trackhawk
Same for the mustang off-road suv
Change your iconic logo to lowercase bubble letters, destroy old nameplates by giving them to cars that don’t match it (Blazer), get rid of another major nameplate (Camaro).. Like geez guys maybe if you updated the Camaro chassis more than once ever 15 years you would’ve sold sold more…At least dodge put absurd motors in them to keep the name exciting. The new Corvette is the best thing they’ve got but even then they gotta try to wreck the name. Maybe it’ll work. Maybe they’ll actually design it properly. Rumor has it the Mach-E was supposed to be a normal E-SUV then someone up at Ford decided to add the Mustang name to it. It wasn’t planned to be a performance SUV from the start.
I never have an SUV and I never would get one in my lifetime, don't get me wrong but it is not my preferred style of car. I love sporty sedans and the Corvette SUV doesn't make any sense to me, there is a HUGE market niche for all kinds of SUVs in the US and why, for God's sake, someone wants to build a Corvette SUV. It diminishes the idea of sports cars in this particular case and, from my perspective is extremely dumb and senseless.
Fr at least its not the Eclipse lmao
GM has been talking about making Corvette its own brand for a while, far longer than Dodge made the Ram its own brand. This works well with GM separating their family/economy cars with their sporty fleet. I imagine a Corvette brand SUV, sedan and a replacement for a Camaro. It will allow for a consistent design language for the brand.
