  • I just had my appendix removed and I went to the ER barely being able to walk. I had abdomen pain and felt like my groin was being squeezed and felt I was holding my urine for a really long time. The Doc checked me for a torsion, hernia, and kidney stones, was cleared on all of those and Doc said I was fine and sent me on my way. 6 months later after losing weight, vomiting off and on and more abdominal pain, I returned to the ER. After blood work and CT scan I had a serious infection and my appendix was ready to Burst (again). A 45 minute surgery turned into 3 hours because it was way worse than they had thought. A look back back at that first ER visiting my appendix had ruptured and they missed it. The surgeon that did my surgery was surprised by the scar tissue that had healed over the first rupture and that I had endured this for over six months

  • I'm sorry you had to go through this. I too had a ruptured appendix. I was home for 9 days before I went to the hospital. After 2 days of not being able to find what was wrong they did exploratory surgery and found it had burst. They couldn't believe I loved through it. Bless you, thanks for the video.

  • 😮 it is scary to get sick in the US especially with a burst appendix. In Europe you would have had your appendix removed urgently and immediately.

    • Mine had ruptured and I was in severe pain…they kept asking if I had already had my appendix removed because they couldn’t find it on the ultrasound …it hurt so bad that if they touched me, I’d go crazy and push them away from touching me. I started vomiting green substance and the next morning, they removed it. Worst pain I’ve ever had , and a lot worst than having a baby! As a matter of fact, I just had my last son when two months later the appendix ruptured. I couldn’t walk…had to crawl to my middle sons room to get help when I woke with severe pain that kept getting worse and worse as I laid in bed. It was a very scary experience. I’m glad we only have one of those suckers! 🤪🥹

  • My mom had her's out when she was 21. She didn't have the classic symptoms. She had generalized pain in her abdomen plus she felt sick. She went to the doctor several times and they finally told her it was all in her head. Not long after it ruptured, she passed out and was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. This didn't happen to her in the US, but in the Netherlands, before she immigrated to the US.

  • I’m so sorry this happened - I had a similar situation when I had an appendicitis. It was the day before going to sleep away camp so that god it didn’t die out in the middle of the woods 😅I definetly felt like something was wrong because I was just struggling to walk around. So I went to the ER and I waited 3 hours for scanning and at 12 at night they told me I had to immediately go to this specialist doctor an hour away to go into emergency surgery. I was terrified but it was all worth it in the end when the appendix was taken out (because now there wouldn’t be any panic). The moral of the story is this stuff sucks.

What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

    • Yes of course! This was definitely what I was most nervous for too, but it was a pleasant experience. The anesthesiologist I had was a really nice guy who made some jokes and made sure I was comfortable. He let me know when they started to give me the anesthesia (mine was through my IV) and then they gave me this really comfy heated blanket. It was so warm and cozy. I remember slowly feeling really sleepy and then next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room! From my experience, I definitely could not have stayed awake, because it was just really comfy haha. So, I would think of it as taking a really needed and satisfying nap. 😴😌 Hope this helps!

  • In US in the military. Was having stomach pains, no appetite. Going to on base Sick Call. Told it was gas. Then indigestion. Then heartburn. As an instructor I fainted giving students instructions. Taken by ambulance to military base emergency room. An older officer medical Dr. hit my right boot with his fist. Diagnosis "hot appendicitis." Getting cut out of my military fatigues straight to surgery. Diagnosis, "perforated appendix." Open surgery, spent 5 days in hospital on antibiotics. I asked if I could be discharged from hospital, as my birthday was in 2 days, and I didn't want to be in hospital on my birthday. Surgical Dr. said. "If you can stand upright and walk down hall and back, I'll discharge you." I grit my teeth, stood upright, and did it. I got released. The next morning woke up, bed covered in blood. Called my neighbor, fellow military friend of mine to go to military ER. Internal stitches had failed. Had to have external clamps removed and restitched internally. NO anesthesia or pain medicines. A roll of gauze in mouth to bite on. This is a true story.

    • It was definitely not fun, but the reason behind it was due to how my appendix had burst and also how long it was left untreated after the burst. They wanted to ensure that there was no possibility of furthering infection during the surgery and the healing process after. It was a pain, but it all worked out thankfully :) Thanks for watching!

If you have a medical emergency or medical concern, don’t be afraid to read medical journals and find out about possible complications, and treatments. Medical journals I’ve read that talk about appendicitis state that surgical intervention is needed right away. I would’ve told the doctor to shove his “medical” plan up where the sun don’t shine and to prep me for surgery right away or to get me to a doctor that could or else I would sue him directly for malpractice. A major complication from appendicitis is sepsis and it’s NO joke…bacteria gets into your blood stream and it’s deadly within a few days. The issue with sepsis is that antibiotics don’t often work. “Doctors” these days blow my mind with how ignorant they can be. 😣
