  • In Finland the screen is 3K resolution and the price is 1300 euros. So I don't know why they launched the laptop with a lower resolution panel in the USA. Seems pretty weird. Edit: Seems like the USA price is half of what it costs in Finland 😂. For that price, I will buy it in a blink.

    @HeoZeo@HeoZeo13 күн бұрын
    • I assume that Finland's price has the VAT included, like most countries in Europe. Still, the difference is ... damn.

    • At least Lenovo has some Europe only models (or at least they're not sold in North America) that are very attractively priced. I bought a Yoga Slim 6 last year, with an R7 7840U, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD and a 1920x1200 OLED for a very cheap price, and it's a nice enough laptop with aluminium body and glass top touchpad.

    • Yeah, for some reason Europe's prices are outrageous. Even if the tax is included, it is sky high. :(

  • I really appreciated your review of the Asus ZenBook 14. The stickers do seem to detract from the sleek design of the laptop. Could you consider making a tutorial on how to remove those stickers without leaving any residue? I’ve seen attempts where stickers are removed, but they often leave an unsightly mark, making the laptops look less clean and symmetrical. Your advice would be super helpful for keeping our ZenBooks looking sharp and professional.

  • Thanks, Josh. As someone who owns an outdated Lenovo Ideapad, this looks really intriguing. I'm always scared to change brands because I have no clue how to transfer everything and if it's even an easy process. I know this channel isn't really for beginners, but if you ever consider it, I would love to see a video describing what to do when you switch laptop brands and how the process can be. Just a thought. Thanks again.

  • Just Josh's reviews have got better and better - really great work. The staff member doing some of the presenting (Gabby?) is great, too. If I can make a small suggestion, I find the comparison graphs hard to grasp in the short time they're on screen - there are just so many long complex product names. It would be helpful to have a different colour or some highlighting for the laptop being reviewed in those graphs; and maybe a different colour for each of the laptops being mentioned repeatedly too, such as the MacBook Air in this video.

    • Thank you. We actually have really tried to improve the graphs using break lines and different colored boxes. What I think we may need to do is put a graph pack on our website for each video we do

      @JustJoshTech@JustJoshTech13 күн бұрын
    • What do you think of that?

      @JustJoshTech@JustJoshTech13 күн бұрын
    • @@JustJoshTech I think that would be good, if you used it to have much less information in the graphs on video; so, have really simple graphs with fewer laptops, and people can go to the website to see graphs with a wider range of comparisons and more detail. (I'm not sure if that's what you had in mind, or if you were thinking of keeping the graphs as they are and also having them on the website so people can take more time looking over them there.)

  • The AMD variant in Belgium can be bought with the 3k 120Hz screen. The touchpad does have the numpad in it. It costs €1100 for 16GB 1TB. A friend of mine has the ULTRA 7 variant. I was able to use it for a couple of hours and I must say that it feels really cheap. This is coming from someone who has used a macbook pro and a dell xps the past year so my standard is pretty high. I have also used an hp spectre 13 from last year and it feels a lot nicer than the zenbook 14. Overall the zenbook 14 is nice to use (keyboard does feel weird) and super lightweight.

High wattage ryzen 7 chip, a 3k display and phenomenal battery life but unfortunately they're probably not available in the us market yet(I've seen them released on the chinese market) also the price seems to be around 1000 usd so it seems like a reasonable upgrade to the amd variant of the zenbook 14.

  • Josh Sir so does these Windows Laptops powered by new Ultra Series of Processors from AMD and Intel make them competitive enough and comparable to Macs with their ARM based M series of processors? What about performance on battery, performance per watt and battery life? Does Windows still need ARM processors Like Snapdragon X? Also, I have read both x86 and ARM are evolving and borrowing from each other and x86 is a tried and tested platform for processors.

    @lifeindivine@lifeindivine13 күн бұрын
    • Macs are much better re the processor. No they are not competitive. In this video the Air has no fan. So zero fan noise ever

      @JustJoshTech@JustJoshTech13 күн бұрын
    • @@JustJoshTech Sir I think they will not be competitive enough unless x86 like ARM becomes an SOC with integrated RAM which will lead to greater efficiency and low latency due to tightly knit components and also reduce its instructions per set for further gains in efficiency, but the former makes it more complex and consequently more difficult to repair and upgrade and also expensive with cost being passed down to consumers, while the latter might not happen anytime soon because x86 was not designed keeping power efficiency for mobile computing in mind. Intel refused to work on ARM when Apple was working for their iPhones citing it being not useful and Apple decided to make their own ARM Chips and today we see Apple having an upper hand and Intel struggling to keep up with Apple in thin and light Laptop space. I personally just like many others don't mind x86 because my portable computer is my Android smartphone, and my Gaming Laptop my desk PC for productivity. No issues with fan noise which is not much audible in balanced mode. And the traditional advantages of tried and tested x86 platform and the devices using it including modularity are more useful than being further tied down and restricted while the gains in battery life not a feature everybody wants or needs, as the needs of both regular users and enterprises does not necessarily align to and focused on this factor alone or at all.

    • Not normally. It depends on how much power the manufacturer feeds to it for various tasks. It depends on the panels construction, resolution, and refresh rate. It depends on the size of battery. It depends on bugs like usb ports draining too much power. There is alot

    • what is battery life like? This my main concern when getting it because I see a lot of reviewers (specifically ones that I trust like josh) saying it has really good battery like 12-14 hours on lighter tasks but a lot of customer reviews claiming 3-6 hours on light task and am confused where the disconnect is here.

      @TheArcadeCrow@TheArcadeCrow12 күн бұрын
    • @@TheArcadeCrow I usually have around 30 tabs open plus several Word docs and it can certainly last more than 3 hours. With all these tasks, I use less than 10% per hour. When I play games, after 3 to 4 hours, I still have more than 20% left. One thing I wanna point out is that sometimes it feels a bit laggy to type.

  • Hey Josh I was thinking about getting the spectre x360 after watching your review (as I mainly need a laptop for programming and maybe light gaming like 2d indie games) but I have seen a lot of people who say that hp is really bad and their spectre x360 battery bricked within a few weeks also a lot of people said the battery life was closer to 6 hours on office tasks. What would be your response to this and do you think it would be good for my use case?

  • Thanks for the guide! I'd love to get a Zenbook, though for me in Europe the 16gb version already costs 1500€ without sales (1600$ converted) On sales in the US the price seems to drop much more, literally half the price as in Europe sometimes lol... I'm looking at the new Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i for me, which funnily enough isn't even available in the US (not to my knowledge). I love the Yoga line and Lenovo's keyboards, I've tried them in some shops. And yes, Josh wasn't too happy with this model in his review... Though this year it got quite a few updates. For example an OLED screen is now also available. Prices are also attractive lol
