Bren sYd What you said there isn't a thing. You can't dissolve the assets of a football club. A stadium, training ground. Liquidation of a football club means the end of that entity. The assets of any liquidated entity are then sold by the administrator to pay back the creditors. In the case of rangers, the assets were sold wholesale to a new entity called Sevco5088, transferred to a third entity called Sevco Scotland and renamed The Rangers Football Club. That's how liquidation law works. The rangers equivalents aren't Portsmouth or Leeds, they're Airdrieonians or Gretna. Both went bust. We're liquidated and started again. Gretna became Gretna f.c. 2008. Airdrieonians became Airdrie United and were later given permission to use the name Airdrieonians again.

They went bancrupt this summer after years of bad ownership and have split up in 2. They're supporters body merged with city rivals Lyra and formed Lyra-Lierse (5th division) and parts of the old board and new investors who want to make it look like Lierse never died merged and swallowed Oosterzonen (3rd division) Belgian football truely is a graveyard.

Many Clubs have gone through liquidations and bankrupcies. My Club Stoke City - then just Stoke FC - had problems in 1912. Clubs that really don't exist now: Blackburn Olympic, South Bank, Third Lanark, Belfast Celtic, Darwen, Colne Dynamoes, Clapham Rovers, Loughborough (various teams), Burton Swifts/Wanderers/United, Clydebank. Some of them big teams in their day.

You can do a whole video about things like this in Poland. Amica is just one of many examples. Right now in our 3rd league we have Polonia Warszawa, who were champions of Ekstraklasa (Polish 1st Division) juts few years ago and were dominant in 1920',1930' and 1940'. Their main rival Legia Warszawa (probably the best club in Poland right now), were dissolved in 1938, but came back to live in 1945, when communist made them to be the main club of Poland, giving them all the money and army support they needed. In 4th division we have ŁKS and Widzew Łódź, who were very successful in European competitions over the years, but went bankrupt I hope someone enjoyed my comment :(

They were relegated in 2012 and after failing to win promotion for two years, the club was sold and moved to Zacatecas. The club has since been reformed in the fourth tier.

In 1998, after merging with Příbram, youth teams of former Dukla didn't move to Příbram, but stayed as Dukla Prague (only as youth football academy, they didn't have money to run an adult team), even tho they were owned by Příbram. In 2001 Dukla youth teams merged with adult team of Dukla Dejvice, and in 2011, Dukla Prague has been promoted to first Czech League, where it's playing to this date.

i used to play for chivas usa academy, were forced to close our doors due to financial problems and to add insult to injury our first team would hardly even average a point per game. Although our academy was one of the top in the nation with some of the best youth products in socal we still weren't given a chance to move elsewhere with such short notice. We were also supposed to join in with OC BLUES (usl 2nd division MLS) but was turned down when their president didnt wanna put up the money, Thats how it all ended sadly

Come on, where's AC Fiorentina? They were relegated from the Serie A in 2001/2, refused a place in Serie B due to financial reasons and went bankrupt. They were reformed and changed their name for a while to ACF Florentia Viola, competing in the Italian 4th Division, Serie C2, before re-emerging as ACF Fiorentina and now is back in the Serie A since 2004/5.

It's still Rangers. I don't support them btw. They are a way of life, not a "club". You cannot stamp out Glasgow Rangers. Their fanbase are too steadfast and entrenched. Scotland and Northern Irelands' Protestants will tell you this. Same culture, same stadium, same supporters, same colours. Same motivation : unsurprisingly, they're in the top flight again. Parma has changed property. It failed 2 years ago and started by the 4th serie with a new name "Parma calcio 1913" . Currently, it's in 3rd serie making the playoff to jump to the second Italian league. The owners are Barilla and other 6 people but recently a chinese man has bought the 60 % of Parma. He is owner of the Desports. Recently bought Granada and trying to buy Crystal Palace now.

Niggachu I feel bad for their fans. The club was spending way beyond its means, clearly paying for players they couldn't afford. The same thing can be said about a lot of the clubs on this list, Rangers paid £13 million for a player (Tore Andre Flo) in 2000, equivalent of 20 odd million these days and they're based in Scotland! Crazy. Most of these clubs have the ownership to blame.
