  • The , “ that’s me doing his voice…” bit, is a nice little cap tip to Andy Kaufman. Paul Foot is a beautiful comic. Surprised he hasn’t done more television.

  • I remember this SO well, and yet I haven't seen it in years. I had a VHS tape back in the 90s that I recorded stand-up onto. Episodes of the Comedy Store and stuff like that. It must've been on there. It must've made a big impression on me because I can almost mouth the words before he's said them. Amazingly, I've since become a very big fan of Paul Foot, and yet somehow I never put two and two together and realised that this young man I saw so long ago was him! Thanks so much for uploading.

  • One of the things I love about Paul is that he knows how to dress for the stage.

    • U must be watching something completely different than I did cuz this wasn't funny and was so awkward that it was actually painful to watch. I thot it might get better, but it never did! If u have to explain your jokes or repeat your jokes then they obviously aren't any good!

  • Was there a food shortage in the 90's ? Either that or a Heroin epidemic that I must have missed. Thinking about it, I was about 9 stone in 91. It shows you the effect of the Burger bar / fast food explosion. Everyone over 5ft 10 is at least 14 stone.

  • The weird thing is, I'm gay, and I studied maths at Oxford, only it was a few years after Paul Foot did. But if I'd been his age, or he'd been my age, and we'd come across each other (oo-er) at the Oxford Invariants Society, and this was the cute skinny 22-year-old Paul Foot - - - well, I would have, wouldn't you? But not the 30-something lank-haired weirdo, oh no, not him.

  • Damn! English audiences used to be discerning. Like Americans, they'll laugh at anything now. 20 years ago he'd have been booed off the stage. This guy's mum must've told him he's very very funny.
