  • True warriors are not valued for their victories, but for the way they overcome their defeats. What a lad!

  • Great rider. Probably won’t ever win the tour or be “the best again” though. The tour he won (2019) was the weakest GC field in my lifetime (I’m 41)

    • @@DNBMP764 the truth is never weak. Sorry the guy went into a truck, and hope all the best for him. Riding with the best these days isn’t very likely though. One trick pony

    • @@jonjust7796 That crying laughing emoji should be directed at you. Sastre has stepped on the podium of a GT 6 times, including a win at the Tour. Evans podiumed a GT 5 times, incl. a win at the Tour. Menchov was 3rd, who also podiumed a GT 5 times and won the Giro and the Vuelta. It was one of the strongest GC fields. 2014 was far weaker. It was the sole podium for both Peraud and Pinot. Froome, Contador and Purrito all crashed out.

    • @@andrasszabo1570 he did bring Lance back from the dead - he called it “a joke”. I’m sure most would agree his victory didn’t take place in a golden age of cycling.
