It is bc being vulnerable is risky, and can get us hurt so one learns to build walls, and a facade that doesn't permit vulnerability because it doesn't feel safe but unfortunately not allowing ourselves to be vulnerable becomes our own prison.. I used to be vulnerable and now I feel like a rock bc in my efforts to be vulnerable I have been dismissed, rejected, gaslighted and bc of those repeated experiences it has caused me to feel unsafe being emotionally expressive.
