Nowadays young boys girls especially girls are too much interested to be relationship with boyfriends... And they do physical relationship without using protective measures. Yes, in the beginning she still lived under their roof but she still wanted to do everything without their help and she made her own money through social media. in one of the only ways a 14/15 year old could and took on the role of a mother and not as a teenager. Why should she not deserve the same respect that other mother's get? There are mothers in there 30's that do a terrible job at parenting. Age doesn't determine how good of a parent you can be nor does it determine if you should be given respect.

We live in a society that seems to promote it. We went from "My Super Sweet 16" to " 16 and Pregnant". I know MTV probably wasnt trying to promote it and was trying to portray the hardships of having a baby at an early age but they continued on with some of those girls stories...why?? They all continued to have more babies in their teens and or before finishing high school. Why?? After these girls initial episode it isnt about teen pregnancy prevention anymore and seems to be just portraying kids leading everyday lives. Weird thing is that its obviously aimed at a younger demographic because i dont know any adult that would find anything remotely interesting or intriguing about children having babies and living overwhelming adult lives that they werent/arent ready for.. Its sad actually. In my opinion, MTV should have always just stuck to what it knew and did best...Music videos. Lol

A proud moment for this dad was when I was giving my daughter's friends a ride home from high school. They were all freshmen 13-14 yrs old. One girl was saying wasn't it sweet that one of their friends was going to have a baby. My daughter jumped in with " yeah, real sweet. She's 14, and will miss out on all the stuff 14 yr olds get to do, all the sleepovers, dances, proms, class activities, and graduation because she's going to have to take care of that baby for the next 18 years." She WAS listening. I couldn't have been more proud of her.

The peer pressure to have sex underage is far worse now than when I was 13 (41 years ago). I was above the age of consent the first time. I had my first child at 26 and second at 29. It's hard enough when to raise a child when you are married and financially stable. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a child that young. At 12-13, I was still doing fun stuff like rollerblading and long cycle rides. I was having too much fun being a kid.

You've got that darn right! My parents best friends son (Todd Erb of Norwich, CT) was screwing me from the time I was just a little girl! By the time I was 17 and he then became my stepbrother it had turned into full on rape! Yes, when our parents switched partners, both marrying the other, he'd come into my bedroom almost nightly. When I wasn't able to get pregnant at 25 I even asked my Dr if it had anything to do with what happened. He ended up denying that he ever touched me when I finally told my parents hoping someone would make him stop. The pain he inflicted on me went much deeper than the physical pain from my then undiagnosed endometriosis. I've had nightmares my entire life and here I am well into my 50's and started suffering from the stress of a lifetime of trauma after just seeing him and his family at both of our fathers funerals. Both my dad and my stepdad (his father) passed away just 5 weeks apart from each other. Screwed up families and screwed up children can cause a lifetime of pain and I wish someone would protect the children! I NEVER would have thought this SOB would STILL be renting space in my head for the rest of my life! 😭😭😭

My only advice to young girls who are sexually active. Remember that your consequences just don’t affect you, but it affects the people around you as well. When you’re 13 you can’t get a job you can’t get the resources as someone who is much older. So in the end, it’s a burden on your parents or your family members to provide and take care of that child when it’s not their responsibility , their responsibility is to be your parent not their grandchild’s .

Others that are prostitute/crackhead ones with Straight A superstar children. Obviously both cases are less likely but it ABSOLUTELY happens. Most children (even those of all star parents) have a rebel stage. Some will even begin to develop mental illness around the teen yrs that can get very bad throughout the early 20’s. I feel you when I was your age I would find a nice doctor and ask him to write me a confirmation for disease I was literally never sick so it usually went like this: "good morning annica, how many days would you like to stay at home?" me "I hope." My stomach" 😉 will be better in 5 days". Looking back I had angels (including some teachers!) around me all the time who would help me to survive school without mental damage. Stay strong and btw. These responses are the problem. They don’t teach kids how to get pregnant. They teach the organs involved in reproduction and how they work. Did you know sperm that is in your vagina can get you pregnant 2 weeks later. I didn’t and that information is vital. Until there is viable option boys need to be informed to wear a condom every time they have sex. Girls need to feel comfortable enough to talk about sex with their mother to discuss birth control options before she starts having sex unprotected. The abortion rate would go way down if parents wouldn’t be so dead set against sex education. I got pregnant at 17 because my BF said he could pull out and I wouldn’t get pregnant. I got pregnant at the same time I found out he was a liar and a cheater. I would never let my daughters face the world alone without arming them with accurate information and access to birth control if and when they need it.

I feel u I'm Canadian so no middle school but I was bullied alot in elementary so the day I graduated was the best day of my life I'm 14 now but I will be 15 in July and could absolutely careless about males my mom says it will come but I don't think so when I'm older I want to live out in the country in a 3 or 4 bedroom house adopt a couple of kids because although I don't want a boyfriend or husband I want kids and a library because there is nothing I love more then reading I don't think I could have handled having a baby at 13 I mean besides dealing with my parents divorcing and a global pandemic I was super stressed and then having to deal with my super judgy grandmother if that happened

This is not awesome or strong. Kids shouldn't be thinking about whether their baby is gonna choke in their sleep and die of SIDS. Middle schoolers should be worried about passing tests and holding hands. If your parents had a kid right now and had you do all the work to raise it, you'd be unhappy as heck But because it was HER BABY her parents had her keep it and raise it versus adopting the kid out so they both can have more stable lives This is not brave This is cruel to her development and her child's development

Wtf do you mean "the south?" I was born and raised in the south and have 8 children (4 bio, 2 adopted and 2 stepson. All 8 are grown as of this year and not one of them had got pregnant until they were in their 20s. They also knew about protection and my husband and I kept contraception in our house for our sons to take... Please don't lump us all together. Southern does NOT equal STUPID!!

@dreamkitty whether or not she consented or even instigated is not relevant. at 13, she is a minor. and minors can not consent to sex. she is a child. it is rape. full stop. the child is never responsible. because they are children. end of story. and no, not everyone understands sex and procreation at 13. many parents are not comfortable having that discussion and rely on the schools sex ed program. most of those are abstinence only programs often put together by unqualified people that in the best cases refuse to discuss birth control and at worst lie and say it isnt affective. your desire to blame a child for their own rape is incredibly disturbing

Im proud of how everything turned out tho, my "baby" just turned 18 and committed to college yesterday in NY ❤ i made mistakes growing up but you better believe i wouldn't let that cycle continue. My science teacher had a student 8 years ago that was 13 and her boyfriend got her pregnant. He actually stayed with her and helped with the baby and now she’s in her 20’s with an 8 ur old little girl, I wish nothing but the best for her because trust was probably really tough❤

Yes, in the beginning she still lived under their roof but she still wanted to do everything without their help and she made her own money through social media. in one of the only ways a 14/15 year old could and took on the role of a mother and not as a teenager. Why should she not deserve the same respect that other mother's get? There are mothers in there 30's that do a terrible job at parenting. Age doesn't determine how good of a parent you can be nor does it determine if you should be given respect.

We live in a society that seems to promote it. We went from "My Super Sweet 16" to " 16 and Pregnant". I know MTV probably wasnt trying to promote it and was trying to portray the hardships of having a baby at an early age but they continued on with some of those girls stories...why?? They all continued to have more babies in their teens and or before finishing high school. Why?? After these girls initial episode it isnt about teen pregnancy prevention anymore and seems to be just portraying kids leading everyday lives. Weird thing is that its obviously aimed at a younger demographic because i dont know any adult that would find anything remotely interesting or intriguing about children having babies and living overwhelming adult lives that they werent/arent ready for.. Its sad actually. In my opinion, MTV should have always just stuck to what it knew and did best...Music videos. Lol

A proud moment for this dad was when I was giving my daughter's friends a ride home from high school. They were all freshmen 13-14 yrs old. One girl was saying wasn't it sweet that one of their friends was going to have a baby. My daughter jumped in with " yeah, real sweet. She's 14, and will miss out on all the stuff 14 yr olds get to do, all the sleepovers, dances, proms, class activities, and graduation because she's going to have to take care of that baby for the next 18 years." The peer pressure to have sex underage is far worse now than when I was 13 (41 years ago). I was above the age of consent the first time. I had my first child at 26 and second at 29. It's hard enough when to raise a child when you are married and financially stable. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a child that young. At 12-13, I was still doing fun stuff like rollerblading and long cycle rides. I was having too much fun being a kid.

You've got that darn right! My parents best friends son (Todd Erb of Norwich, CT) was screwing me from the time I was just a little girl! By the time I was 17 and he then became my stepbrother it had turned into full on rape! Yes, when our parents switched partners, both marrying the other, he'd come into my bedroom almost nightly. When I wasn't able to get pregnant at 25 I even asked my Dr if it had anything to do with what happened. He ended up denying that he ever touched me when I finally told my parents hoping someone would make him stop. The pain he inflicted on me went much deeper than the physical pain from my then undiagnosed endometriosis. I've had nightmares my entire life and here I am well into my 50's and started suffering from the stress of a lifetime of trauma after just seeing him and his family at both of our fathers funerals. Both my dad and my stepdad (his father) passed away just 5 weeks apart from each other. Screwed up families and screwed up children can cause a lifetime of pain and I wish someone would protect the children! I NEVER would have thought this SOB would STILL be renting space in my head for the rest of my life! 😭😭😭

My only advice to young girls who are sexually active. Remember that your consequences just don’t affect you, but it affects the people around you as well. When you’re 13 you can’t get a job you can’t get the resources as someone who is much older. So in the end, it’s a burden on your parents or your family members to provide and take care of that child when it’s not their responsibility , their responsibility is to be your parent not their grandchild’s .
The consequences can also affect the baby especially if the parent slips financially/family decides not to support them

Most children (even those of all star parents) have a rebel stage. Some will even begin to develop mental illness around the teen yrs that can get very bad throughout the early 20’s. I feel you when I was your age I would find a nice doctor and ask him to write me a confirmation for disease I was literally never sick so it usually went like this: "good morning annica, how many days would you like to stay at home?" me "I hope." One small community we lived in over 20 yrs ago added a daycare within the school. It was a Jr High. What a tragedy that there were so many pregnant, barely teen girls that a school would need babysitting.
Both my jr high and my high school had day cares - it was for the teachers kids. So that they had affordable day care.
This is why sex Ed and other resources need more funding

These responses are the problem. They don’t teach kids how to get pregnant. They teach the organs involved in reproduction and how they work. Did you know sperm that is in your vagina can get you pregnant 2 weeks later. I didn’t and that information is vital. Until there is viable option boys need to be informed to wear a condom every time they have sex. Girls need to feel comfortable enough to talk about sex with their mother to discuss birth control options before she starts having sex unprotected. The abortion rate would go way down if parents wouldn’t be so dead set against sex education. I got pregnant at 17 because my BF said he could pull out and I wouldn’t get pregnant. I got pregnant at the same time I found out he was a liar and a cheater. I would never let my daughters face the world alone without arming them with accurate information and access to birth control if and when they need it.
I had my first baby at 14 and my last at 25. I'm just glad she's happy with the choices she's made, kudos for letting the world see some teen moms are legit and about that life👏

My science teacher had a student 8 years ago that was 13 and her boyfriend got her pregnant. He actually stayed with her and helped with the baby and now she’s in her 20’s with an 8 ur old little girl, I wish nothing but the best for her because trust was probably really tough❤
