Remember when they removed the crossbow from the first AC game because it wasn't historically accurate to have a crossbow in that time period? Now we can wield the powers of Gods.
I remember how this case was exposed and it turned out that Ubisoft removed the crossbow because it was unfinished and very unbalanced. They removed it under the pretext that it was not historical, although the crossbow had been used for 5-7 years before the events of Assassin's creed 1
And now we have this... whatever it is... I didn't even finish AC Odissey.
@@HenrySpears What's wrong now?
yeah apparently gods use bows and arrows
@@jawad2022 There are no gods in the Assassin's creed universe. There are only ordinary people and people with high intelligence. The new trilogy tells about an ancient civilization through the prism of mythology. In Assassin's creed, the ancient civilization for some reason prefers to use swords and bows rather than blasters
I think what makes AC games/ stories good is that you can feel you just a normal human being capable of doing what the character(s) do... not some godly sh+t turning into bird teleporting and so on.. this is just like a new game to me... the only AC thing left is the hidden blade sound.

Ok but assassin's creed was never ment to be a viking rpg. They should have made a separate game and called it Vikings Valhalla or something.

@@kocetociparov1089 Mmmm Facts...Many people of this generation just haven't been around when the first proper AC games came out. Unfortunately now why the fanbase of this new gen AC is becoming popular is because kids and young teens are being exposed to supernatural, non-AC games (ody, val etc) and thinking that this is the new norm. yeah like Assassin's Creed 3 Tyranny of Washington DLC.
2007: Hidden blade was introduced 2022: Metamorph was introduced Realism vs fantasy
that was in AC3 DLC as well.
"Realism": *proceeds to pick up something called the Eden Fruit that makes people go crazy/kill themselves/kill each other all of a sudden* Dont get me wrong, its cool af but realistic? Dont know about that. No ac game is completely realistic, but these 3 last ones took it to a whole new level.
@@ChadSpittingTruth the Apple of Eden originally provide it's wielders with knowledge, or made them go crazy and lose control. It was also a device which could control the minds of vulnerable or mentally weak humans. It was a piece of technology from the advanced Isu civilization. Moreover, the Isu themselves were a mystery, but we knew they were the technologically advanced, sci-fi civilization that are mysteriously helping the humans. The gameplay back then was more grounded, and so was the story. You would know if you played the games.

I know alot of die hard AC fans hate this, I get it completely as someone who played the old games too. But this looks fun, not as an AC game but this looks very fun. I love the demigod vibes you get from the MC's in the last three games.
I played ac 1 and 2... To me it got boring since i wasnt a history nerd :/ Then origins, odyssey and Valhalla changed my mind. I actually like history, just not modern history
I dont get why ac fans are mad its still has the same core mechanics that it had since the beginning. Only thing changed was the time period.
Im an AC die hard fan since day 1 but im open minded enough to enjoy new things and i love this game
@@mkdiablo995 Exactly. It's different but I love Valhalla.
Well you see, the problem is not that the game is not good. Trust me, I was dissuaded from playing AC origins and I absolutely loved that game. The problem is it's a really great game with the AC name slapped on it. That's kind of insulting the legacy of the older AC titles which played nothing like Odyssey/Valhalla. Just give them a different name and these are absolute bangers.

@Junaid yes, both.
I see a lot of people complaining and I can understand where they are coming from, seeing the abilitiys used in this video. The thing is people need to stop viewing the assassins creed franchise in this oldschool assassin style, I strongly believe that if we would get an oldschool assassins creed game people wouldnt enjoy that. Ac Origin, Odyssey and maybe even Valhalla (havent played Valhalla yet) all have good things going for them, especially Origin and Odyssey. These two games have such amazing worlds, for example when you play Origin you literally think you were in egypt after stopping to play the game. It's the same with Odyssey, the world is immersive and beautiful. I personally always rate it as follows " it might not be the best ASSASSIN game " but it is still a great game. And to be honest Origin and especially Odyssey still have this traditional sneak style gameplay viable.
This game was a lot of fun to play even though it didn’t feel like the old assassin creed games
AC started as a Prince of Persia game, but the developers realized the game was too far from its roots, so they scrapped the idea, came up with a new title and Assassin's Creed was born. It looks like they are at that same spot and they just need to admit they need a new series.
Atleast after syndicate they could have ended the Assassin's creed series with pride and started something else with origins with a new series , sad to see these fantasy game with ASSASSIN'S CREED title.
@@vishwashegde2231 This is dlc, it’s not canon, so there is no problem, maybe play the fucking game before critiquing it, same with odyssey none of the fantasy elements are canon, there is no problem with them finally making good combat other than clicking a button and th enemy dies, old games were stale and boring, the only thing people enjoyed were the stories, which are still good, and you would know if you played the games.
@@PastPositive so you telling me that talk without playing the game ? What made you think so ?
@@PastPositive i am not complaining about the newer stuffs they are adding in , its just the title that doesn't fit in. And that's the opinion of majority of AC fans , so you better read properly before assuming something else , i meant no offense to the new content of the game, my concern was only with the title.
The mechanics may have changed but the story still ties in with the earlier games. I'd say they're doing a good job
2:08… so basically he has the rinnegan 😂
This looks like something straight out of a fever dream. Little me, sitting on the couch and playing the first AC, could never believe it.
It actually canonically is a fever dream. Eivor uses psychedelics to explore his Esu genetic memory, thought heavily distorted by the drugs, and discovers more about the Esu and the cataclysm.
For me personally i really love the new techs, turning into a bird teleportation and all that stuff is something right up my alley.
I for one am a fan of the mythical powers and abilities. I was one of the few that like AC Odyssey, and it was because I didn’t consider it an Assassin’s Creed game, but somehow Valhalla is hard to get into. But I’m still aware that Assassin’s Creed has strayed far from it’s roots and it’s disheartening as a day 1 fan. Ubisoft should just make RPG games with these mechanics and not call it AC, because there is potential there. However they must completely remove the RPG thing from AC, and just go back to the original source material on what made AC special. Story and Worldbuilding, Social Stealth, Parkour, Animations/Assassinations, etc. I personally think Unity should be the blueprint in terms of parkour and assassinatons. A trilogy Saga like ACII-Revelation so we can become attached to the protagonist. Exploration and Adventure like AC4-Rogue minus the ships or if so, use it sparingly. And finally the combat: I feel they should take AC1-AC3-Unity and combine the things that made those combat systems satisfying to the player. Or make a new combat system from scratch that’s more grounded and challenging. But also make it where as though you can kill dozens of enemies with flashy animations. That’s just my thoughts on the topic. Edit: Thank you all for your kind words in the comments, I wasn’t expecting such positivity.
I’m 100% there with you on that AC Unity poiny
What's interesting about your point is that AC was originally supposed to be a Prince of Persia game but strayed too far from the original content, so they scrapped it and came up with a new title. Sounds like they are due for a new series.
totally agree. I don’t understand why they need to keep calling it assassin’s creed. it’s not that a new IP from ubisoft wouldn’t get attention
Well said my guy stay solid in these streets
I agree. Just the combat I think that would be great if they use the AC origins combat. The priority would be stealth, and everything you said, but in terms of combat, they could use some of rpg mechanics, like origins or even valhalla, but definitely not odissey

Sadly no one will care about a game like that because if the game doesn't have the assassin's Creed title on it no one will care and besides god of war is doing Norse mythology justice than this game can ever do and even ghost of Tsushima is more of an assassin Creed than the entire assassin Creed games

@@mohabalserafe3795 Entire assassin creed is a bit of stretch, i get your frustration with the latest installment, but AC is a great game, nothing can beat the OG and Ezio Trilogy. Ghost of Tsushima is a phenomenal game, but it cant beat the immersion and storyline of OG AC.
The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt Valhalla : Creed of Viking Odyssey : Creed of Alexios
@Junaid The new gen AC games beat witcher 3 combat in every way shape or form. More enjoyable, more fluid and way less annoying. Witcher 3 story equally outclasses the Ac games story tho. They both have areas where they shine and where they lack so stop acting like the witcher 3 is the coming of Jesus when it comes to games because it really isn't outstanding outside of it's story(main and side).

That's the basic consensus I'm seeing. It's not that the game isn't good, it's that it isn't really Assassin's Creed since it throws historical authenticity out the window. At least, that's with the more crazy DLCs. The base game is still pretty solid in terms of authenticity, if not a bit flawed.

@@TheBurningcage27 Thank you someone finally gets it, people are all gung ho to say the powers are a vast change in direction but the supernatural and unrealistic elements have always been there (animal transformations, prophecies, goddess', the whole concept of super advanced ancient civilizations) not to mention a good number of the games had things that weren't exactly an Assassin's perogative(Black Flag's pirate majority, tower defense games). People are just salty that they changed the combat and turned the game into an RPG that lets you choose if you wanna play like an assassin or not and are looking for ways to denounce their new games. Other than freedom to choose playstyle (which shouldn't be a problem if you wanna be an assassin then only get assins related abilities and play that way) the only real issue I've had with the new games is that the parkour is a step back in terms of fluidity so freerunning ain't as fun and that social stealth was somewhat removed (although it is an element in the dawn of ragnarok DLC). If they improve parkour mechanics then I'm all for the new systems, at the very least combat doesn't get old super quickly and is more involved than tapping counter over and over again because there is a variety of ways to tackle combat situations and a solid 75% of all AC games is combat anyway.

I loved these new AC games concepts. More RPG elements. Specially Odessey was so good and yes i loved the previous games too but the new AC has just amazing touch.
good concepts dogshit execution. this gameplay gets boring after like 4 minutes.
I recently played all of the AC games before Syndicate * not all the way through*. Honestly they were all pretty great but I despite all the shit that these recent AC games have gotten, especially Valhalla, I’ve found that the previous counter and assassinate combat was fun at first and nostalgic but it quickly became dry and reused. Some of the best earlier combat was in Brotherhood and BlackFlag. Playing those games really made me appreciate the depth of weapon choices, abilities and combat styles that the newer games have. Yes the assassinations and stealth is very clunky but the overall combat is honestly really fun when you blend in the abilities, even Valhalla’s new beat down to execution method felt more satisfying than the counter to kill method in the previous games. Another thing that was bad, I be yet funny in the earlier games was the clipping and rag dolling, this took me out of the moment a lot and this is something that I didn’t see much of in Valhalla after playing almost 80hrs. Anyways I thought I throw out my opinion on the matter and mention that the change might be drastic but not necessarily bad for the franchise. I get why the developers wanted to change it up a bit with origins and then fleshed it out in Valhalla and the dumb Greek one
Idk man i think people are just close minded valhalla is an amazing game
Yeah yeah whatever you say, want a medal?
I think it's the comparison between different eras. Like AC2 had shortfalls that are easier to forgive in 2009. But Valhalla has shortfalls that are harder to forgive in 2022.
Assassins Creed Odyssey is brilliant tho? It has a lot of the original assassin creed feel to it. Plus the concept of being a Superhuman Spartan free-roaming Greece is so cool to me. It lets you choose to be a Legolas(Archer), A Leonidas(Warrior), or an Ezio (Assassin) so you’re not even limited to stealth kills.
@@po8670 It honestly is a great game, people complain saying it's trash and all that but they don't play the game for what it is. I agree that it's strayed far off what would normally be called AC by a long shot but that doesn't take away from the amazing game that they made. It's been nearly 6 years since ubisfot made the change to a more RPG like AC, people should have gotten the memo that it's not going to revert to its old ways and enjoy the game for what it is and not what their ideal versions of the game should be. Take the game as an RPG, crank it up to the hardest difficulty settings hell even turn on pathfinder mode if you are really up for a challenge. Do all that and enjoy the games atmosphere and story as it comes while unlocking a variety of different abilities that can change up combat in a lot of ways interactive ways. For everything that is said Valhalla still lets you play stealth and assassin like if that is what you want to do the only difference now is that it's a choice instead of it being forced. Only real thing i'd like to see improved is the parkour other than that I love the new gen ac games for what they are. Story driven RPG's with a beautiful looking world and ton's of different abilities and combat mechanics that let you play as you want wether that be a primal hunter, an unseen assassin, a rampaging viking, a God among men or some crazy and epic amalgamation of the previously stated archetypes. You find what works for you and play the game in the way YOU want to play and stop being hung up over specific mechanics that have been dead for over 5+ years since origins came out.
the teleport assassination reminds me of the shadow strike in shadow of mordor. the animation is very similar
Reminds me of Tyranny of King Washington. Ac3's map and movement mechanics didn't fit well, but the weird shit they added in the DLC made it way more fun
Awesome gameplay, kinda feeling like Shadow of Mordor series. Way to good. Much appreciated UBISOFT.
I mean, Shadow of Mordor did it better and 7 years ago.
@@rcislariu absolutely better combat, nemesis system, better skill tree etc
@@sakuragi1062 true, it's not about that actually I mean obviously Shadow of Mordor also copied some gameplay and I'm not even inclining to wards defending the series but yes Shadow of Mordor did everything 10/10 even second part is way better than first but what's wrong with AC is that they been struglling to find serieses identity, Ubisoft after witcher 3 and shadow of mordor realized that their open world's are exhausting, boring and often feel like doing a chore than being enganing or immersive which is why unity was like spiderman, syndicate was like batman with grapple hooks, which is why odyssy and valhalla is like witcher 3 and now finally this Shadow of Mordor Lol
Most of the people hating in the comments have never played the game… it is really good, and for context, this is just a DLC and you are Odin in it. You can’t use those abilities in the regular game
More like I'm shocked 😲 I only played the first week the game came out and I came across this clip and boom I can fly as a bird and teleport everywhere, so yeah not hating but at least understand we OG AC fans can find this mechanics shocking tho lol ✌🤣 but still looks dope
Basically my first reaction was WTF 😆
oooh new mechanism now...i like Ezzio but i like this too...^^
So good.. i want to play it
Can you use these abilities on the Original Map?
Really good graphics! I think I’ll play this game 👍
Im gonna buy it too cuz I played AC Origins and Odyssey. 😉
The NPCs standing there while he kills their partner: 🧍🏾♂️
Awesome
these powers are amazing. I have not played this game yet. I've have played all the others.
Don’t waist your time
It’s a great game. Valhalla has the best dlcs compared to previous ac games.
Used to be my all time favorite game series until they ruined it. Sad to see how it became.
He games are still good you just don’t wanna play it. Ofc this game isn’t gonna be necessarily based on steals or just the physical attacks/parkour it’s based in the Viking period.
Same for me too.
@@cameronezzard2001 with powers which is dumb af
well the fans are the first to ruin assassin's creed but mainly ubisoft because how of a horrible game that was origins.
Well there's always far cry
This made me want to continue after 90+ hrs in game
Holy crap I'm coming back to Valhalla!
