Monologue: Bruno Mars Is Nervous About Hosting - SNL

Bruno Mars opens the show with a song about how he's nervous to host SNL and that he's a girl, and when Kenan Thompson comes out to the stage to ask if he's actually a girl, Bruno gets a confidence boost and shoves him aside. [Season 38, 2012]

    • @@joshconnell8797 he does not, Joshua. He did use the talk box for 24k Magic, but that's it. The man is a live performer every single time. So just because your fave has to lip sync to cover up their mediocre vocals, doesn't mean he does. 🙄🤡

    • @@feliciasanders2066 In his studio recordings he does. Everyone does. I love Bruno Mars, but that is a fact. Idk about live. I’d assume you don’t have perfect pitch, so you can’t tell if he’s on or off. It’s not a lot, but he’s not perfect. I do enjoy his voice more live tho, but you can hear the difference if you look for it. Also, no need to throw around insults. I don’t feel the need to act like a 5 year old, and I hope you don’t either.

  • Three Things: 1) Bruno was legit FUNNY here. Every move, expression, inflection, double-take, and cue was perfect. He _crushed_ this monologue. 2) Kenan showed right here why he's the G.O.A.T. -- he's low-key phenomenal as a straight man who punches up the punchlines. 3) Those back-up performers were TIGHT! Great vocals, moves, and timing with their lines. I hope the audience was laughing more on the inside, because this was a great opening monologue. SNL, let's revisit Mars!!!

  • He is unreal. I’ve been to so many concerts of so many artists. Bruno Mars was the only artist my son ever asked to see so we went and I’m so grateful we did. Absolutely brilliant.
