To celebrate 15 years of Hard Knock TV, we are uploading the full version of some of our favorite interviews of the years. Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Saint Jhn for in-depth interview. Saint Jhn and Nick talk about Saint Jhn's childhood, growing up between Brooklyn and Guyana, seeing his brother in a street cypher and knowing then that he wanted to be an artist. Saint Jhn shares that earlier in his career he wrote for other artists, including Rihanna but that his songs for her never got placed on her albums. Saint Jhn shares how that didn't discourage him or make him doubt himself because he believed in what he wrote regardless of validation from others. Saint Jhn also talks creative process, visualization, manifesting things into reality and gems he got from his single Mother. "All the work I did was to sit on this couch, not saying that that's the pinnacle of what it means for me but I'm saying I had to create this, we all did, every step, every decision you ever took, every choice you ever made brought you here so that we can create and have this conversation.
And if i can create, I can create my way out and I create my way in. But if i can't create then I'm stuck."
Saint Jhn and Nick talk about lyrics to songs on Saint Jhn's project "Collection One" including "Some Nights" and "Selfish". Saint Jhn also talks about references to 2Pac and Jay-Z in his lyrics and what it was like watching Jay-Z change the game. "In Black America and Black History, our heroes, they are almost looked over, glazed over, and I got to see one in real time. I got to see somebody blaze a trail and open doors in real time fam. Do you know how fortunate that is? Im not reading it from a book. This aint some document somebody handed off to me. This aint an experience somebody else experienced. I get to be like, I saw that, that's real. Its real. It was real for him. It could be real for me. It's real for all of us. Did everybody get the memo? The rules just changed!" Saint Jhn on Jay-Z.
Nick and Saint Jhn also get in to the concept of monogamy and polygamy and how society pushes the notion that you need another person to complete you. Saint Jhn also talks about his song "Trap", working with Lil Baby and Meek Mill, and new project called "Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs". Much more in this interview including, Saint Jhn sharing that he had to watch his brothers get deported, his feelings on 21 Savage getting detained and describing how he wants to be remembered.

You can be any sign & still be like this guy , it’s how he carries himself with his charisma & confidence while discussing things. It ain’t cause of no zodiac sign, that’s some fake woke shit. I shrink the “why not” list and increase that volume of the “why” list then the odds are in my favor” - This one just inspired a different aspiration level of believing that anything is possible! 🔥🔥🔥 appreciate it!

Removal of masks is NOT something that should be done yet. If you object to my statement, speak with a medical staff and NOT political advisors.
