  • Hey Lindsay. First, Thank you for putting these videos up. I greatly appreciate it, and they have helped me quite a bit. Now, I'm trying to do what you are doing here, but I seem to have too much friction with the finger rolls to do it smoothly. I know this is operator error, because it's an acrylic ball (100 mm). I have relatively large hands, so that shouldn't be an issue... Soooo any other tips? What am I doing wrong? What are some common mistakes with this trick?

    @sfbastion@sfbastion11 жыл бұрын
  • Yup! Rolling your fingers open and closed one at a time will really help. Even if you have to go really slow, focus on keeping it smooth as opposed to as fast as possible and work up to a faster pace. I', sure you can also find tons of hand exercises for people who play instruments like the guitar or a piano. Google knows. =P

  • Do you ever have issues with fingernails? Or is there any movement in contact juggling in which fingernails may be an obstacle? I ask this because I play classical guitar and I need to have my nails for it. However, I'm interested in contact juggling but I don't know if it affects the contact juggling technique.

  • You may find that they get in the way for some moves (like the windshield wiper) but for the most part you shouldn't have too much trouble. You will probably need to tweak some moves to work around them but it's definitely doable!

  • I'm having problems with the squeeze ups. It seems like my ball isn't as smooth as yours even though it's an acrylic and it seems to stick to my hands when trying that trick. What can I do to fix this?

  • I really have a hard time smoothly moving my ball in this way. I have very small hands, and I think I have a medium to smaller ball. Do you think I should go smaller or will it not really affect much?

    @darbyharmon2570@darbyharmon25708 жыл бұрын
  • I have a big problem. My fingers are really stiff from yoyoing (Check my channel), and my fingers can't move individually. I will try and raise one finger and my pinky will raise automatically. I also can't move my middle finger down without my ring finger following. Are there some finger exercises I should do?

    @TheNoonar100@TheNoonar10010 жыл бұрын
  • Hmmm.... friction you say? Maybe try cutting into it with your fingers from more of a horizontal angle? Sometimes your acrylic can become sticky too. If it does just run it under some water. Also use your thumb for some extra lift when you're doing a squeeze up. Best of luck!

  • You could try washing it. Sometimes body oils or other junk can build up and make them kind of sticky. Also focus on cutting in with your fingers on a horizontal plane as opposed to coming in on a more vertical angle. I hope that helps!

  • I can't seem to be able to do the squeeze ups. Is itmaybe because my ball is a bit sticky? Maybe I should buy an acrylic one.

    @lyvsix@lyvsix8 жыл бұрын
    • If you're using a silicone ball then it will be a little sticky. try really cutting in with your fingers on a horizontal angle. that might help! Otherwise, yes, this is much easier with an acrylic ball.

    • +Jolene Theresa Not stupid at all! I can keep fairly long fingernails as a contact juggler but there definitely is such a thing as too long. Maybe just go for a trim?
