He took his childhood trauma and focused it with the first adult he saw as a parent in Cus and was honed to become a killing machine. He said he was trained to not punch the fighter but to try to punch through them.

  • I think the reason that Tyson was so scary is because of his speed, he could close the distance in a instant and his punches were short and unbelievably fast and had crippling power, Tyson’s most dangerous combination was his body shot that leaned the opponent into his uppercut, everyone knew it was coming but he swarmed in so fast and he hit so hard that you can’t do anything, his fight IQ was also very underrated, he could catch openings in a split second and capitalized immediately

  • My father always talks about the night in 88 or 89 when Tyson fought Michael Spinks, he said when he hit Spinks with that shot the entire household of 8 people sitting round the tv went completely stone cold quiet and all just sat there in shock over what had just happened. It is a terrifying punch. Any no man alive can withstand a punch like that.

  • i got to share 30 mins w mike on my late dads b day 4-17-12 i was 26 at the time and a peekaboo expert and my father made me show him my speed bc he loved tyson n had me doing it since i was a kid and i was TERRIFIED..when he said “show me” for a second i forgot how to fn box but i pulled it off and he said “ooh impressive champ dad good job” and talked to us for a long time and was the most humble man i ever met i still keep everything he signed and pictures of us on my wall. It was the greatest celebrity meet i ever had. Hes my hero
