    • I imagine he was. I'm an somewhat serious competitive distance runner and I can pretty comfortably maintain a 7 minute mile (4:20 km) pace for much longer than a 5k. And I'm not at all unique. My friends who run in college can pretty comfortably maintain 6:30 pace for the same distances.

  • Everyone's talking about the pacemaker and other people who helped him along the journey. That's true, those guys deserve a lot of credit, but so does KSI. I'm not saying he had good intentions, I'm saying if he hadn't done this callus might not have done so well or he might have not even tried to break the record. Some people (I repeat, some) sometimes work better when they're being mocked, kind of like it's a challenge. I remember being made fun of by my classmates back in high school because my mouth was always open. It really hurt my feelings, but I ended up fixing that problem, and in a weird way, I appreciate what they did. Although, I wouldn't do that to other people, friends or not, at least that's how I'd like to think I am.

  • As an xc run, i can say that running is one of the mentally and physically hardest things a human can do. Big props to you for staying determined. I went from a 19;59 to a 18;51 3 mile this season and it was verrrry much a mental battle more than a physical battle
