It's the same at reinforced deepslate to break. They didn't want to make it impossible, but hard enough that trolls wouldn't just go through and break them after getting the loot.
Then they underestimate trolls There are definitely people that will sit there a good minute to destroy a block just to deny others a chance at loot

man, i just wish the key did something more climactic. it feels like the trial chambers don’t have a proper end, or final room. i wish the key opened up some sort of boss chamber or something
Yes, I also think the structure should have a propper starting room that was somehow easyer to find than the other parts of the structure, that way you will most of the time start from that room.
The key is much too common for something like that. Half of all the spawners drop them
A boss would be awesome. But if you get a boss every time it might be too much. In that case maybe it would be good to just get fragments, or need several keys to open the boss fight. On the other hand it destroys the sandbox nature of minecraft if you cant remove the boss chamber
The Trial Chamber doesn't have a proper end because it doesn't have a start in the first place. When you find one, you usually break the blocks that stick out and end up in a random room. Nothing stops you from breaking the blocks from the structure to enter that hypothetical "bossfight room" while skipping/ignoring everything else that is supposed to come before. Although I would like Mojang to introduce a new boss in this update, I think putting it in the Trial Chambers isn't the right place for it to be added into the game.
Imagine a special door that can only be opened by the trial key. That door will take you to a new room that will be an arena. There you will have to fight a boss.
The Jordan resource pack better be seeing a texture change for the vault with it switched between the jpegs of Jordan opening and closing his mouth

Unique armor/weapon/tool sets would be cool, diamond gear with specific good enchantment sets. Nothing you couldn't get if you spent forever rolling on an enchanting table or making use of villager trades, but stuff that would be super cool anyway. Maybe with a unique armor trim to add to the "set" idea. Could also give out an armor trim you can only get from vaults.
I feel as though they should make the block mine-able, then have it be used as some sort of safe for player valuables. Then use one of the villager workstations to craft vault-specific keys
I think that's a cool idea, although it would incentivize players even more to break it and use it for themselves instead of letting other players to loot it in the future, defeating the reason why the block was added in the first place.
Maybe instead, the vault could give you a new vault. A breakable one.
use 8 Stones and 1 Trial Key to create a Stone Chest, which when unlocked can be opened and broken (Pickaxe) like a wooden one. Using a Trial Key you can lock it, this key would be linked to it just like Lodstone and Comprasso. Now that chest would take a while to break and it wouldn't dope anything. And if the key is destroyed the chest would unlock.
You can break it, it's just extremely durable.
Aw, no mention of the armadillo updates or breeze changes, but the vault is the bigger news

@@yeetdragon2413 No. The difference between this and the tick-delay from the copper bulb is that both can be implemented on both versions of the game, while the one-tick-delay from the copper bulb and the crafter needed a lot more work to be done on Minecraft Bedrock due to different coding and behavior of redstone components in that version.

I saw an earlier video about this and someone made a great comment on why this feels so lackluster: "defeating the spawners gives you loot, and part of that loot is the trial key, which gives you ... more loot. Wow so creative"

It should be easier to break once it’s been looted because once all the loot from it has been grabbed (at least in single player) it’s not going to be needed anymore.

There should be another use for keys! Maybe only give special loot the first time and then just some cheap building materials etc. It would be cool if those materials would then stay consistent for the block so you have a reason to come back and get more. What do you guys think?
I think the idea of the trial keys is nice and all, letting players all have a chance at loot from a structure, but... It's a little underwhelming in practice when the Trial Chambers are so far underground. I don't know, I was hoping the Trial Keys could be used to unlock some harder difficulty of the Trial Chambers.

Yeah, most of the Minecraft players are casual players instead of degenerates who get full netherite in 5 hours. For them this is a far much more useful feature.

I love the great features in this update, but I feel like mojang needs to focus less on adding content and more on flushing out existing. Biomes need makeovers and other dungeon/mineshaft variety should be greatly increased. You don’t need new blocks and mechanics just more interesting structures using what u already have
This is really cool
Minecraft would have made people way happier if they introduced the key at the same time as the vault. Everyone got excited about what the key will open, and the reality is a little bit of a let down compared to what people were imagining. But it's actually a pretty cool feature, and I think makes the game better. Yet again, Minecraft does good things, but fails to manage expectations.
Still waiting for the copper bulb and crafter to be fixed. If those don’t happen idc
i really hope they change it to be easier to mine and actually drop itself so that they can be collected and relocated... just imagine. a room full of these things at the end of a trial that you can just spend all your keys in one quick sweep... or even better... what if their state change can be detected by observers... the redstone potential of ranged player detection that doesnt rely on pufferfish or sculk. the possibilities of this block could be huge... if only it was properly mineable

These last few minecraft updates have been very underwhelming. It seems like the last good update was the nether update or maybe 1.18 even though they released caves and cliffs in parts. At this point modded is the only thing keeping me playing.

PLEASE performance fixes update. Optifine runs circles around vanilla, Mojang needs to spend a year optimizing base MC.
Optifine isn't even good--- other performance enhancing mods run circles around it (and base minecraft, of course)
They're optimizing in the backgrownd, In this and the previous snapshot there was some changes to how information is stored and resently they reduced spawnchunks a lot to reduce lag (If you know what spawnchunks are, they also added the option to change it back to the original size or even bigger if you want. If you don't know what they are, don't worry, it won't affect you, only make the game less laggy, specially if you move far from the point you spawned in at the creation of the world).
They probably won't make a performance centered update because it's hard to market. 1.15 was a great update for performance but a lot of people disliked it due to the lack of tangible new content. Most we'll get is background changes. Also, as someone else mentioned, optifine is not very good. The performance boosts that it does get are from cutting corners, (quite literally in some cases, as it un-renders some more distant chunks) making it break a bunch of mods.
@@scioregis6381I don't think we can count reducing the number of loaded chunks as an optimization. Nothing's running faster, the game's just doing less. It's a band-aid solution.
@@dimitribarronmore make the game do less when it's not necessary is one of the most common ways of optimization, for example a friend of mine explained me how one of the most effective ways of optimizing a game is avoid rendering things that the player can't see.
