More shamen please. Go into the 3 ways to play resto shaman and why they are good or bad in certain situations. Atonement/healing rain/tank healing. Talk about when to swap between specs and the tier set differences that can cause the spec swap a little more. How easy is it to swap. Enhance to ele etc. Raid comp with shamens, resto with off spec or is resto a healer, even over other off spec healers I.e shamen vs druid off spec in raids. Totem set ups for shamens which totems to use when etc. Any macros that are worth having and maybe good weak auras to look up.

This vid did me make the decision to roll shaman main for cata. For hybrid in dungeon hc/raids on farm is healhance or eleheal better?
Some more shaman is always appreciated. Resto and enhance glyphs etc. Might even switch from boomkin/resto to ele/resto for cata.

Can you do rogue? I'm interested in learning about how the different specs will progress throughout the expansion -- i.e., does the bonus effect from the legendary daggers affect the viability of sub in DS tier? Things like that. Cheers!
Sub was outperforming Assasination with daggers in Dragonsoul yes, but was harder to play. So Ass spec might be the go to for most player if they can't play Sub near perfection or they just dont want to deal with the difficulty of it. But who knows whats gonna happen in Cata Classic, we had DW UH dk topping the meters all the way till ICC with Wotlk Classic, I don't remember that being the case in Wrath back in the days.
@@Gorgok19 Is this true even in pre-legendary (fear/vengeance) form? I saw that it gave a 45% bonus to sinister strike and revealing strike -- I imagined that might play a significant role in making up for the damage gained from ambush for combat.
@@Fiendxz Yeah the 45% dmg was exactly to make up for the fact the combat's main hand dmg would be in line with the other specs (sinister strike vs backstab etc)
@@Gorgok19 it wasn't back in the day because gargoyle used to have a max of 1 cast per second due to it having it's own global cooldown. I really wish blizz would've applied it back as the nerf instead of changing the snapshotting for haste
more shaman plz. wasnt going to play cata but I am picking my shaman back up from 2019 classic and I haven't been able to find a great guide for ele
So I hate to burst the hype bubble around fire ele, but in wrath we quickly saw gargoyle snapshotting nerfed and changed to dynamic stat checking moment to moment. If fire ele lasts for 2 min surely we can expect to see the same treatment right?
only reason garg got nerfed,is because of trolls and p1 boss fights being so short so they went and overnerfed it. and they only nerfed the haste snapshotting,garg still kept its ap snapshotting. at most theyre going to do the same for fire ele,again because of trolls.
Fele doesnt actually snapshot with haste, it only snapshots with primary stat / SP. So it works similarly to how Garg works now
Its literally how fire ele snapshots in wrath lol. I dunno why thats his big selling point. Its no different to wrath. Talk about the other new changes that improve ele as a spec not something that already exists. Nobody is stacking ele shamans in cata. There are better specs to stack
Snapshotting works with spellpower, not haste. Haste was the broken part in wrath for garg, snapshotting for garg/firele/doomguard is completely fine in cata

Resto Shammy pumps, In og I was 1st or 2nd healer every fight as resto and I was in a top 50 US guild at the time. They are very strong healers in cata.
Every healer does their job better except a few specific fights where they have good value

Another person commenting who has absolutely no idea how resto shaman will be. This aint a private server mate its classic. If you have played ANY classic at all you will know that its not even a viable comparison. Yes we can get the basics from private servers but tuning, class stacking, new changes to make classes viable like ret pally and feral in wotlk, new metas emerging like unholy dual wield which was rarely ever seen on private servers. I've been through all this so many times with every classic expansion now to know, what you think you know, you don't know.
I still have my resto in original cata gear at lv 40 in retail, I retired him as a retail bank alt and haven'tplayed him since. Did it 15 years ago, will do just as good if not better now.

The biggest disappointment about this Cata chat is that it wasn’t over 3 hours
I never understood the cata hate cata was so good the only weird thing was the old world change if they didn't do that feel like cata woulda been S tier for most people it's so good.
Dragon Soul was underwhelming and I think the increase in HC and Raid difficulty pushed a lot of people away imho.
Rogue was toxic asf with recuperate in pvp. So excited 😂

Never did I hear anyone think so highly of Blood DK in Cata in original cataclysm or the 2 or 3 private servers I played on. They are a top tier offtank but Prot Paladins are still the MT king. I would say, Pal+DK is best in the first 2 raid tiers and then in DS it's Paladin + Druid

If you need a guest for your Hunter deep dive, I have played both BM and Survival for years in Cata and MoP servers. Played a good bit back in the Apollo 2 glory days and raided for two years on Tauri MoP!

Big fan - Love your content mate. But personally I feel these Podcasts are just Bad. Rambling - not through-line or logic to them - you jump wildly from point-oto-point and not really that informative at all. I think your individual class guides are great - but these just don't work for me.
We do these podcasts for fun mate, its somewhere we can get together have a few beers and talk about the game. Podcasts aren't for everyone (especially ours) but its a selfish outlet for us to just talk about the game live with people we enjoy talking to. Also just a quick edit - You are entitled to your opinion completely, but there are loads of people that love the podcast and listening to us ramble and if we miss a week, we get DM's asking why it didn't happen. So if we can please some people, im fine with that.
