  • I remember when the Fugees reunited and performed at Dave Chappelle’s block party. In the words of Dave Chappelle, we really witnessed “a miracle”. Nobody thought they were ever going to get back together due to how thick Clef and Lauryn’s beef was. That was the cherry on top of that whole block party. Wish I could’ve been there

  • Lauren would have never made Miseducation if the Fugees had not broken up and Wyclef would not have made Carnival. Creatively their breakup allowed them to grow in different ways to create those masterpieces. So although The Score was also a masterpiece I would much rather have gotten what they ultimately gave us than to have gotten 2 more The Scores.

Also, not everyone is Prince or Stevie Wonder. Not everyone-hell, almost no one-is gonna have a catalogue that spans decades. Maybe these people have already given us what they had to give. We don’t think about things from the artists’ point of view, only from the consumers’. And what does it mean to consume? To take. “Gimme, gimme, gimme.” “You owe us.” “We feel jerked.”

  • Dood with the long hair basically asking clef “how did you let life happen.” Life just happens the way it happens. It would be like asking you, “how did you become a dude sitting next to math Hoffa that nobody knows?” You could be the most amazing person and I’m going to concentrate on what you didn’t do because it could’ve been bigger or think why isn’t dood hosting the show? Missing integral parts of the story by thinking the story was supposed to go a certain way. Their story is just as great as the albums they produced. It just wasn’t made by Disney.

  • The funny thing is, I was so mad about The fugees breaking up, that I blamed Wyclef. I was so mad at Wyclef, that still till this day I never even heard "The Carnival"! I wasn't trying to support it. I am gonna listen to it now though...

  • If there were no Fugees there's no Hov classic: Ain't no love in the heart of the city I said, where's the love? Ain't no love in the heart of town And then the Fugees gonna break up Now every day I wake up, somebody got something to say What's all the fucking fussing for? Because I'm grubbing more and I pack heat like I'm the oven door?
