The Austin Motor Company Limited was an English producer of motor vehicles, established in 1905 by Herbert Austin in Longbridge. In 1952 it was converged with Morris Motors Limited in the new holding company British Motor Corporation Limited, keeping its different personality. The marque Austin was utilized until 1987.
The brand name is presently claimed by the Chinese firm SAIC Motor, in the wake of being moved from bankrupt auxiliary Nanjing Auto which had gained it with MG Meanderer Gathering in July 2005.

  • Some where we have lost the A55 Cambridge Mk2 ( 1959/61) 1500cc & A60' (61/69) 1622cc "Farina's" & Countrymen estate. BTW - your A35 pic is actually an A30 - fastest way to tell the difference - A30 chrome grill and no indicator lights below the head lamps. A35 has a painted grill, chrome trim & indicators ( A30 had trafficators little arms that lifted from between the side doors)

    • Thank you. Unfortunately, this happens quite often. Sometimes due to my inattentiveness and sometimes due to lack of photos that fit the requirements for their use. Let me thank you for your comprehensive answer about the differences between the A30 and A35.

  • The taxi at 2:19 is a Beardmore, not an Austin FX3.

    • I agree with you. This model deserves attention. Unfortunately by my absent-mindedness and lack of competence I make mistakes.

  • @5.23, if you look at the badge on the grille it is an Austin Victoria not an Apache

  • @3.49, 1956??, It must be a prototype because the A40 Farina wasn't launched until September 1958!
