More details about the temples of Kanchipuram:
1. Ekambareswarar Temple: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Ekambareswarar Temple is one of the largest and oldest temples in Kanchipuram. Its towering gopurams (gateway towers) and sprawling campus are a sight to behold. The temple's most prominent feature is the sacred mango tree believed to be over 3,500 years old, symbolizing fertility and prosperity.
2. Kailasanathar Temple: A masterpiece of Pallava architecture, the Kailasanathar Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a treasure trove of exquisite carvings and sculptures. Built in the 8th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is renowned for its intricate stone craftsmanship, depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.
3. Varadaraja Perumal Temple: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Varadaraja Perumal Temple is an architectural marvel with its massive gopurams and intricately carved pillars. The highlight of this temple is the annual Panguni Uthiram festival, where thousands gather to witness the grand procession of the deity.
4. Kamakshi Amman Temple: Revered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, the Kamakshi Amman Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi, the divine consort of Lord Shiva. Adorned with vibrant sculptures and adorned with intricate artwork, this temple is a symbol of feminine power and grace.
5. Varadharaja Perumal Temple: Another prominent Vishnu temple in Kanchipuram, the Varadharaja Perumal Temple is famous for its massive complex and majestic architecture. The temple's main deity, Lord Varadharaja, is depicted in a reclining posture on the serpent Adisesha, symbolizing divine protection.

I have been to Kanchipuram twice, but I have visited only three main temples. I am planning a trip to Tamil Nadu early next year. I'll then visit the other temples you have taken us to. I am a mandir and moorti admirer. This will help expand and extend my considerable portfolio of sculptures. thank you
You’ll love the other temples as well. Frankly my list had more places that I couldn’t cover. I’ve included the Google maps list in the description and you can use that as reference. Have a good trip there :)
Please visit the Divya desams and padal patra temples

@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms One life is not at all sufficient to cover even any one state of India. Talking to locals gives lots of input to what one should explore. One such interaction more than 30 years ago gave us a new hill station to explore 'Yercaud'. Not many people outside Tamil Nadu know it still. The first time I visited it was really very raw, but after 25 years a few more advances were visible, like the presence of a petrol pump, and milk availability in the evening. Another interaction with the autorickshaw driver gave us a beautiful boating experience. Mavinkurve in Karnataka, near Honnavar. By road apparently, you have to travel around 20 km but by a rowing boat several minutes and a short distance. I visited twice. The first time was glorious. During boating we got to see a train running across a bridge over the Konkan railway.
Namaste

@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms All the best and Watch the every details in sculpture. Happy journey
Kāñći isn't southern Kāśi. Kāñći is Kāñći. Apart from that, nice documentary.
I’m not spreading ang false ideology - just a phrase that’s used for the city. It’s like Kashmir is called ‘Switzerland of India’ - it’s not meant to bring down either Kashmir or Switzerland, just to praise both. You are reading too much into nothing but a phrase…
Pictures of temple s and narration should be more relating, which temple has which narration is intriguing
I’ve tried to do that. However, for each temple there’s general footage just to showcase the temple as well.
♥️🌹❤️🤝❤️👍🌷🌺💐🏵️💮🌸🌻♥️
Thank you ❤️❤️🙏🙏
how much time required for darshan in varadaraja swamy temple??
It can vary quite a lot - when I visited, it wasn’t so busy but that’s not always true I was told. Check with the hotel that you stay with for the best time to visit - usually early morning is the best time in my opinion.

The city of kanchi can get crores of money to TN govt if they keep the city and its localities clean and tidy.. it can even surpass tirupati but TN govt wont do affirmative action
Perhaps you are right, but frankly if I’m a bit selfish, I would love to retain the old town charm that’s so hard to get these days. These phenomenal temples exist and are such an integral part of life there, and I feel that if we institutionalise it like some of the other major temples, we’ll lose this intimate connection with them. That’s my two cents - not that it matters much…
Kanchipuram sarees or kanjiveeram ?
It’s Kanjeevaram sarees - I might have mixed it up and said Kanchipuram sarees in the video. Apologies for that…
@@SiddharthaJoshiFilms no why it's kanjiveram it should be kanchipuram ryt .. why do people say that ? in South India we say it as kanchi pattu.. pattu is the silk ..
Once Telugu capital !
That’s an unusual way to describe it. If you mean Pallavas, they certainly ruled from Kanchipuram but aren’t usually identified as Telugu dynasty (they did rule over present day Telugu speaking regions back then). Vijayanagara Empire is identified as Telugu speaking empire (though their capital is in present day Karnataka at Hampi), and they did rule over Kanchipuram. However, it wasn’t their capital though they made significant contributions to the architecture of the city. Hope this helps 👍
Beautiful episode Siddharth. We all loved it. We pushed Kanchipuram to top of our list of next travel destination. Btw, can you please share the link to all the mantras used in the background?
Thank you so much Ajay! The link to the music used is already there in the description - look for the Kanchipuram music playlist 🙌
