As a Christian raised in the 90s, music in and of itself was always considered something to be scared of, whether or not it had any sort of potential satanic influence. So I can’t even imagine how ridiculous it was in the 70s. I understand based on my values why a lot of people were concerned about us being exposed to secular music, but as I get older, I realize a lot of that stuff was just based on personal fear and dislike for the music, it’s almost like the church was looking for a reason to keep us away from learning about music and entertainment.
