Washington announcers were really trying to justify Wilson’s hit... and people say Jack Edwards is biased. Carlo is 6’5” there no reason that Wilson should be hitting him in the head when he’s standing up.

I think I disagree that Carlo’s height really matters here he had his head down and while it’s definitely a penalty it’s not as bad as ur making it out to seem. Didn’t see obvious intent to injure.
I don’t know if the hit was dirty because Carlo was already in a bad position and Willy wasn’t facing him. The penalty is obvious but the hit wasn’t dirty

Tom Wilson is the dirtiest player 2nd only to Brad Marchand. When Marchand gets hit you have to worry as the hitter will you get a stick in the nuts on the next shift. But Wilson there is nothing clean about his game. Not even in the minors he's got a Rep for trying to down right kill people. More then a few he's concussed or broken. He shouldn't be allowed to play on my opinion

A lot of Oilers fans were surprised Khiara was back in the lineup as soon as he was after his first KO of the season. Based on that Romanov hit, seems like they had good reason for it. Hopefully the Oilers give him enough time in a dark room to heal this time, he's a fun guy to watch but not at the risk of brain damage.
Yeah two concussions so close to one another does raise the spectre of brain trauma. As told in Ken Dryden’s book, Steve Montador had multiple concussions in the last year of his life, and if memory serves, a least twice during that period he had a concussion followed by another one a few weeks later. It was a haunting read. Wishing Khaira a speedy recovery.

There’s no weight classes in the rule book. It’s still roughing, it just looks bad, but it’s not necessarily dirty.

The Risto hit at 2:55 was an iffy call honestly. The puck got tipped away "last second" which made the puck not get to Guentzel. Had it not been tipped a second earlier, the hit would've been totally legal. Also Risto was coming in with the back check so there's no way he could've avoided colliding at that point when the puck was deflected. Guess it would be a similar situation to an unnecessary roughness or hit on a defenseless receiver in the NFL when the ball is tipped last second and the receiver still gets whacked
It’s not iffy. It’s blatant interference. Was it dirty? No, anyone would step up right there but it’s still interference. Not as rare as you might think but they’re gonna call that everytime
