Finally, Reuben gets the supercharger installed into the Gladiator, but not without a few speed bumps. Jeep decided to change the ECU from GPEC2 to GPEC5 which made tuning the Reubencon impossible? Our friends from Flash Diesel and VCM where able to unlock the GPEC5 ECU, making it possible to tune for the supercharger.

  • That ECM is not a gpec5, the connectors on the side mean it's a gpec2a. Why have this description up getting those of us with the gpec5 hopes up? You have to know they in fact did not Crack the code on the 5 and we are still screwed until they do. Maybe it's the export market is still using the 2A, but I just double checked. My connectors on my 2023 are on the top and we still can't get a tune.

  • Changing the serpentine belt is a piece of cake. The alternator has a 5 bolts on a single bracket and a wired plug. All really easy to get to at the top & front of the motor and takes only a few minutes. Another 60 seconds to slip the belt on, then retighten the alternator bolts. No adjustment required and it's WAY better than having to fit a new alternator on your Toyota after every creek crossing. I carry a spare belt. My buddies in their Landcruisers carry spare alternators.

  • Hello, This is not GPEC5 but GPEC2A in this video as you can see at 10 minutes. GPEC5 is smaller and has plugs on the edge not on the side. Nobody hacked GPEC5 at this time. Only rumors without proof that it can be bricked after some flashing but nobody shows real reading/writing proof from this ECU. Sometimes you can find GPEC2A in new cars if you are lucky and DMW is! Tuners company have to wait that tuning system providers find a way to read this new ECU.

  • Did you guys pin the crankshaft to prevent the sc causing the crank pulley to slip causing major damage or is that only applicable to high powered v8 engines would really like to know great content and extremely informative cheers guys from Nottingham UK

  • We love our gladiator. Done over 80000km in it in just under 2.5 years. Never missed a bit. The only issue we've had is the solenoid in the rear axle which activate the locker. Apart from the wheels, ours is still stock. can't wait to get a lift kit, a tray and canopy etc.

    • When you had the axles torn down, you needed to "pot" the locker axle switches that prevents the gear oil from filling them up and causing them to fail. The knock on needing a case spreader is isn't necessary for just doing 2 axles. I did a D30 and D44 in driveway with out one.

  • Has anyone noticed that the PCM in the video, in this vehicle is NOT a GPEC 5 but is indeed a GPEC2A? They have not unlocked a 5 because that vehicle has a 2A. I have pictures of both to prove it.

  • Another reason they say the extra oil in the intake on turbo vehicle is to lub the turbo as well witch i call bull$%# when it has a oil feed and return but i know ford say no catch cans on there vehicles

  • Catch Can theory, engines are designed with oil vapour to lubricate and catch particles ie EGR Soot rather than with a catch can and minimal oil vapour and have the engine wear. Top end decoke use to be a service item. The cost of a decoke compared to a new engine ?

  • catch cans have been known to pressurise the sump, i wont use one.

  • Catch cans can reduce the blow by pressure alowing high pressures inside ur engine causing issues like reduce oil pressures and also seals to blow out

    • The PCM in that video is clearly a GPEC2A and not a 5. The 5 has connectors on the edge, the 2A has them on the side exactly like in the video. The video is not a 5.

  • the not being able to open the door unless it's park thing came from some d head celebrity running himself over while opening the gate to his mansion because he didn't put it in park. there'll be an easy way around it because the doors are removeable.

  • Catch Can. Dealers hate them because they charge a lot of $$$$$$$$ to clean out the EGR. So my interpretation Catch Can takes money out of the dealer. I may be wrong but it's my interpretation on the topic.

  • Honestly, I feel sorry for mechanics working on a lot of modern vehicles. The amount of crap that has to be removed to do a lot of basic things is a joke. Accessibility and ease of maintenance seem to be last things vehicle engineers care about.

    • They tried to sell Landcruisers twice but nobody wanted them on their first try. The second time they got sued for lying about the well known DPF problem, blaming customers' fuel, and got smacked with a Two point Six BILLION dollar Supreme Court judgement. There's a reason why they're not impressed with Landcruisers and that's because they already have Jeeps
