WHY DID I CHOSE THOSE LANGUAGES ? 🔽 - Vanellope : In a recent interview, Sarah Silverman (Vanellope’s original voice actress) said that Vanellope was a jewish princess… So, that’s why I decided that she should speak Hebrew. - Pocahontas : Why isn't she speaking Powhatan? Because there’s no dubbing in Powhatan nor in any other native American language of ‘’Ralph Breaks the Internet’’, or even of the original ‘’Pocahontas’’ movie. Therefore I chose English, Pocahontas’ second language that she learnt thanks to John Smith. - Ariel : It was recently confirmed by Disney that the story takes place in the Mediterranean Sea and that Eric’s kingdom is somewhere in Italy, although the original story was written by a Danish author. Proof >> kzhead.info/sun/qK2PgK2foIl6iIk/bejne.html - Moana : Since there is no Maori dubbing of ‘’Ralph Breaks the Internet’’, I’ve decided to use some lines from the first movie. - Red curtains and snow flakes are here to avoid the video to be blocked worldwide -
She's jewish?!wow!
What did Moana say in Maori?
Thanks for finding and putting all these clips together!
Well, with such a surname Vanellope would likely to be Ashkenazi rather than Israeli, but I doubt anyone has made Yiddish dubbing.
I've watched another video with native languages that consider Greek as Ariel's native language because her father, Triton was a god in Greek mythology!
Having everyone in their native language makes them not being able to understand Merida 100 times funnier.
I am learning Scottish gaelic, but didn't understand anything haha
@@naissou98 There's this Scottish KZheadr who did explain what Merida was saying (unfortunately can't remember the name, you'll have to search "Merida's dialogue Wreck It Ralph 2 explanation" or something like that), it's a very interesting video. Also Merida is speaking in English, she's just speaking in such a heavy accent and is using so much Scottish slang that they can't understand her just on accent alone.
@@adlirez She says something along the lines of "If you think you;ve got problems I got a cake that turned my mum into a bear, my father tried to do her in (kill her) if thats not pure mess, I dont know what is" :D Scot here. :P

As an angry wise Scottish man once said, “Scotland is targeted!!!”
Merida speak 3:35
The language of Scotland isnt "scottish", its gaelic (im not trying to sound like a know it all, jusf letting you know)
For those who don't understand Merida: She wishes Vanellope a happy life where a mouse doesn't leave the pantry with a tear in its eye because there is no food. Tells Vanellope to "hasten back' to see them again soon.
thank you!
In the VF she Say to wish something that will not turn into a curse, liké she do
And here's what she's saying that translates to what op said: "Lang may yer lum reek, and may a moose ne'er leave your girnal with a teardrop in his eye! Haste Ye Back, Me Lassie"

I read some people who wrote that the fact that the voice actors is Jewish doesn't mean the character Jewish too. But usually actors and voice actors think some facts about their character to make them more true, even so these facts aren't shown. Sarah Silverman has decided that Vanellope is Jewish and the movie directors agreed. Obviously the fact that Vanellope is Jewish doesn't mean she speaks Hebrew. Maybe is more probable that she speaks Japanese ("Sugar Rush" is a Japanese game) or German (because of her surname), but this is a KZhead video made for fun and the author wanted to share this fact about Vanellope. I liked it! Thank you!
I agree with you. ☺️ I just wanted to add, that her surname doesn’t necessarily mean that she speaks German. Many Jewish (especially ashkenazi) people have a German surname, because in the Middle Ages, when people got surnames, many Jews lived in German-speaking areas, and then moved to eastern countries, like Russia or Ukraine and later to the UK and the US, where they still kept their surname. 😉
I was thinking Japanese too
Didn't expect Ariel to be Italian. Considering Hans Christian Andersen was Danish I thought "The Little Mermaid" would also have its setting in Denmark.
Disney confirmed 2 years ago that erics kingdom lies in italy.
Same I thought Ariel was danish and Eric was Italian🙈
@@dollsinshadows well to be specific ariel is Mediterranean, while her father is greek, because triton is a greek god. Erics kingdom may be in italy but I think its sure to say that ariel could be fluent in many languages from the Mediterranean.
I have always thought Ariel was Danish. Italian doesn't sound right to me at all. Maybe because I've grown up with the German dub, idk...
@@crazy_viking92 german here too :D Most people believe she is danish but disney debunked this from the beginning by confirming in the documentation of the movie on the dvd that the story takes place in the Mediterranean Sea. This documentation is like 15-20 years old. If you look at the flora and fauna of erics kingdom its clear it cant be denmark. The sealife is also way to exotic for the baltic sea. We see animals like white sharks, humpback whales, bottlenose dolphins, flamingos - all animals you cant find there but in the Mediterranean Sea you can. Palmtrees too. Also triton is a greek god. So my guess is: eric is italian, ariels parents (triton & athena) are greek and ariel and her sisters grew up learning to speak many different languages bc of the many countrys located at the Mediterranean Sea. Thats why she can speak italian, but her mother language is greek bc of her parents.
I just love how everyone talks in Different languages but they still understand each other xD
Which is what happens in a lot of stories(expecially cartoons),if you think about it...;-P Expecially the ones involving talking animals,I mean...am I supposed to believe deers, rabbits and skunks all speak the same language and they can understand each other perfectly?;-P Or lions, hyenas, monekys, birds, warthogs and meerkats?

Oh, I checked your channel and see you speak 8 languages. You're big now so this might get lost. But which one do you know the best and which the worst? Are you able to sustainably maintain your knowledge of each one? I'm lazy, but I've learned a little Japanese. I want to know what its like and experience being able to understand another language. I just use whatever KZhead videos to learn. I feel like I'd need something more structured to follow to not feel lost.
When you realize Pocahontas can't be in her native language because colonizers almost completely eradicated it 🙊

@@simp2.068 she- she's native-american and her language would've been Powhatan which is one of the many different dialects amongst the native groups and tribes. Most native languages have been completely eradicated by colonizers of the English world back when they "discovered" the America's. Only a few different dialects are still around and can still be learnt, such as Ojibwe, Cree and Anishinaabe.

Disney owns the rights to Anastasia, but sadly they haven't done anything with that. I wish they'd at least put out an animated short of some kind, give the Slavic people something... but Ana is Russian and with the current political climate she's not about to be marketed widely, which is unfortunate because 1. most Slavic people don't agree with Putin 2. most Russians don't agree with Putin and 3. everyone should get to see themselves in fairytales.

As someone who speaks English, German and Hebrew this is soo fantastic
Agreed! It was so odd to understand most of the princess knowing that they all speak in different languages
Ooh do you know Yiddish? My grandparents speak it fluently, seeing as it is a German-Hebrew dialect you might be good at

Wow. You even had C-3PO speaking Galactic Basic. That's some good attention to detail.
I appreciate that Anna was the first and last princess to speak
I love how they understand every other language and then there’s *Scottish*
tbf I'm a Scot and Merida spoke a random bunch of unconnected phrases and some english sentences but with a played up accent. So disappointed I was hoping she would actually speak Gaelic or Scots
@@TrueNativeScoteveryone keeps saying that she’s actually saying something but it’s clear she’s not
Tiana should be speaking Cajun French as was spoken by the majority of people in Louisiana in the 1920s
Alas, I doubt there's an existing Cajun French version of Ralph Breaks the Internet...
@@invock Yes but should have at least made it in French
In the 1920's, French was actually forbidden in official acts, and violently "untaught" at school (and by violently, I mean actual violence, Cajun speaking kids were beaten by teachers and nuns).
@@senesterium I am aware since 1921 it was law that French was illegal to be taught in schools
Tiana should have been African not an American
Great Job 👏🏼
Troppp sympa comme vidéo 😊🤩
Everyone complains about Arielle speaking Italian and I sure get the point, but if they made them speak the original languages of the fairytales they come from, then more than half of them would speak German. But yeah, Arielle speaking Italian confused me too tbh
German and Danish. Anna, Elsa and Ariel would all be Danish.
@@frenchbreadstupidity7054 no I wouldn't make sense if Anna or Elsa was danish
@@the_real_Moth_man Yes because the original fairytale also was from Hans Christian Andersen, who is from Denmark.
@@vielmiau8796 but Arandel is set in Southern Norway. Plus Frozen wasn't based off of Snow Queen it was just inspired by it.
@@loveandpeace6903 They never said the movie wasnt set in Norway. They said the ORIGINAL language which depends on where fairytale originates from. The Snow Queen is a danish story written by a danish author. So is the little mermaid.✌
imagine Raya being in this, she could've be multilingual due to covering all Southeast Asian countries because DISNEY is lazy to do for each country lol.
OH MY GOD I KNOW RIGHT. Although, i suppose it makes sense if she's either speaks thai or malay/indo since heart is inspired by thailand architecture and malay has the biggest language family in southeast asia
Raya speaking in Bisaya would just make me laugh lol
Nah it’s because the story could have harmful geopolitical implications seeing as the plot follows waring nations, if each one had a direct real world counterpart, it could be seen as Disney inserting themselves and calling one nation “good” or “bad”. Say instead of the conflict mainly being between Heart and Fang it was between Thailand and Indonesia, Thai and Indonesian audiences might feel offended that their country was portrayed negatively ykno? But by doing a general area (similar to how Scandinavia or Polynesia was in Frozen or Moana), they’re still able to draw from many diverse cultures without picking favourites
@@A.Mayflower127 wel they should've made a story based on one nation instead of trying to fit the whole southeast asia into one movie. I mean, if they stuck to.... lets say, thailand first. If the movie does well they could expand upon the world and made sequels telling the story of other nations based on SEA countries.

@@imthatextrakid8292 but unlike Merida, she was made before Disney bought her company
I personally would of made Vanellope either Japanese, seeing as Sugar Rush’s theme song is sung in Japanese and her/the characters from her game’s design is heavily inspired by the Japanese chibi look, or German because “von Schweetz” is a German surname. Jewish is a religion, not necessarily meaning she is Hebrew/Israeli. But this was cute either way!
Ya! I could see her being a mix of german/ Japanese as well.
Yea, I was confused why she was speaking Hebrew.

She could also be both Japanese and ethically or religiously Jewish
@@gaymer5272 Already did and Hebrew still doesn’t make as much sense to me as Japanese or German would have.
Merida's actress is absoulutly brilliant❤❤❤❤
This reminds me that languages is a beautiful thing. It's funny to hear the languages that we could speak as well.
I wonder how Scottish people see this movie with Merida’s voice. Cause like for example if a character speaks English, and Merida speaks English and the rest say they don’t understand her, then that’s weird lmao
I’m Scottish, and yeah it kinda sucks they just boiled down her character to be a joke, but also English wouldn’t be her native language, it would be Gaelic but there’s no Gaelic version of this movie because it’s not a very well known language
@@ariadne8177 oh well I meant like if there was a Scottish dub

Gaelic is a language but not many people speak it. Scottish people would just watch this movie in English
If Ariel was written in Danish, Sebastian is a crab from the Caribbean and the Chef has a French accent, she could speak anything.
you forgott the thunderaal. this find in northsea also friesisch
The French were all over the Caribbean. The crab Sebastian must have somehow attached himself to a French vessel and arrived at a French coast port, then became a courtier to the Mermaid King? 🤷♂️ That would explain a lot.
Actually, I read the castle of Eric states in Italy, which explains why she speaks Italian

Amazing! I wish they do another Disney Princess mash up and also add the newer ones Raya and Mirabel speaking in SEA (whichever they prefer among these nations), and Colombian. 💗
And they should add Alice and Tinkerbell
I like to think the original VA for Merida was on a call with the director of the movie, was asked if she wanted a scene where she speaks in her native tongue and said something in Scottish that translates to an exclaim of enthusiasm

This sound like a tv when you are on a vacation in a hotel for example in Turkey. Each of the programs are in a very specific language and you dont understand a word but you will watch it either way
Giving pocahontas american english as native Language is wild 💀
I definitely agree with you! However, I would like to note that the person who created this video did not re-dub it, but used the existing dubs that already exist for the respective countries. And since there is no version of the movie in Virginia-Algonquin (which would be her native language), the creator of the video had no choice but to use English🤷♀️ Also, as far as I know, Algonquin got already extinct, and I think it wouldn’t be that great of an idea to just make her speak _any_ native American Language… Even though English is not Pocahontas' native language, at least we know that the historical person Pocahontas learned English and spoke it very well.
