This video is the 4th video in our case study series for Uber Group.
The incredible Ingrid Visser (The Whale Sanctuary Project) shared her story and how Uber Group have helped her and her Orca Research Trust.
Ingrid Natasha Visser (born 20 February 1966) is a New Zealand marine biologist who studies orcas. She regularly lectures on the subject aboard cruise ships, especially in Antarctica, and has been featured in several documentaries about orcas.

  • Just learned the wonderful news that Miami orca Lolita will be relocated to a sanctuary in the pacific coast within two years; I join with millions hoping for her long awaited freedom. Thank you Dr. Visser for your work on behalf of the mighty orca

    • Tokitae isn't going to Nova Scotia, she's going to the West Coast in the Sailish Sea. At least, that's the narrative today. A little levity here, Keiko only lived 5 years in a pen after being "freed." He was out in the ocean and missed the migration, I think, never connecting with a pod. I wonder if flying them in an airplane may damage them somehow. Edit: He died at age 27, which is old for a male in captivity but not even close to the age males reach in the wild, 30 to 50. There's a really good video on the southern residents in the Sailish sea, Fight to Save Cascadia's Orcas.

    • @@shihtzusrule9115 - Carol didn’t say Nova Scotia which is in the Atlantic. She said Pacific coast which is West Coast of America. She was correct.

    • So sad she won her freedom but they waited too long . Unreal no orcas should be in captivity 😢😢 Lolita died this past August .

  • I am in awe with these beautiful orcas . Dr. Ingrid is amazing person . We need more like her. No one should visit any orca in captivity. 😢
