Great Video! Just what I needed! Photoshop experience did make it a bit easier to digest. Getting into laser cutting/engraving so learning Illustrator, lightburn and the actual hands on burn process/settings- always a bit intimidating being loaded with a new tool set to learn but I was in Game Design for 15 Years, did a little bit of everything. You NEVER stop learning new tools/skills in Game Dev! One of the big things I learned is that the intimidation of learning a new technical tool set like this is what keeps most People from every pursuing their dreams. The irony of that intimidation is that you only have to learn it the first time once- brushing up on forgotten skills after that is usually pretty quick/painless.

Thanks for this! I was able to recreate the pencil without issue but I'm a stuck on the Pie Graph. Any hints on that one? First I drew a circle then a rectangle to get the line in the middle then I tried using the polygon tool to create the triangle slices but I can't figure out how to make one triangle filled, one just a stroke and one with the open curved edge.
In the expanded toolbar there is a pie chart tool, fill in the grid with the percentages you want, for this sketch 10,20,20,50. Afterwards you can ungroup and select each segment to colour them.

Sidebar: Can we just have a moment for your audio quality. As a voiceover artist, may I say your microphone is very good. If I had to mark anything down it's the plosives (P sounds)... but well done. Makes it much easier to learn if the sound is good in my headphones. Now I've missed the opening of the video typing this so now I have to go back.
Thanks! Totally agree about the importance of sound. I don't edit these full-length videos and the plosives could benefit from some editing.

I also set the dimensions for the grid as you did and my dimensions came out much different. My gap in the pen is wider and instead of 5 spaces to the edge I had 7. Not sure where I went afoul. I set everything the same as yours.
When you turned the grid on, how did the background become transparent behind the fountain pen? I can't seem to get that to happen on my end, and the fountain pen clip still has the white background with the grid on either side of.

Eu usava o Photoshop (pirata) para desenhar, já que eu vendo meus desenhos e para mim, é impossivel eu conseguir pagar mensalmente uma assinatura de tanto valor. Se designer é mal valorizado, e a rapazeada que vende os seus desenhos por si só? pra mim é extremamente complicado trabalhar com minha arte e eu simplesmente larguei do photoshop em si, é um otimo programa mas os custos são altos para mim e acredito que para outros também! eu comprei o Clip Studio que é MUITO melhor para mim e não precisa de assinatura, mas do mesmo jeito, o Photoshop é essencial para mim. Tenho um amigo que posta Edit de Valorant (um jogo) no youtube, e fazer thumbs no Clip studio é muito complicado, mas eu não vou pagar uma assinatura mensal CARA para apenas algo "esportivo", compreende? eu acho os valores da Adobe muito altos, por mais que seja totalmente compreensivel, eu acho que poderia ter uma chance para pessoas menores e nesses momentos, eu digo que até sou a favor de Piratear programas da adobe.

Hi guys, if anyone could kindly advise, I am stuck on 24:50 of the video, I am able to create a rectangle over the “pen tool”, however whenever I click the selection tool, it does not allow me to select both rectangle and pen tool - therefore being unable to crop the needed item. Would appreciate any advice, I’ve spent an hour or two trying to figure this out 😢
Anyone else struggling with this, I found an alternative way, open the template separately, drag it down with the selection tool, having two open documents on one page, under Object - find crop, highlight what’s needed, press apply in the properties side bar. Bobs your uncle 😁
