Raian is just like his granddad Erioh. Erioh just relied on brute force until he was defeated in a kengan match then he went back to the Kure clan to improve his techniques. Same thing happened to Raian after this fight.

Spoilers warning in the Omega comics he tore a full grown man in half from the mouth, and even in asura ending when he started using techniques even though he was rusty he was stronger than in the competition. And now currently in omega he is almost as strong as the connector as stated by one of the worms

Even with advance Niko, Kuroki Gensai wasn't fazed at all. It's 50 - 50, but Gesai will find a way to win cause experience is with him. I loved this anime a lot cause they didn't do any fan service by making ohma win or show ohma is stronger than others... imo, I don't think ohma can still beat Agito.

Hmmm. From what I know, it'd be close. Akaza only barely lost to Rengoku and Breathing Styles as a whole are very similar in concept to The Advance and Removal if not more powerful. Granted he was in the middle of trying to recruit Rengoku. So I give it a 70/30 odds in Akaza's favor.

Well tbh, the advance system in general is very real. Very very real. People do it daily without even realizing. Fighters/Gym rats especially. Triggering your adrenaline glands to the point of berserk is all it is. And that’s the “inner rage” that takes over when you feel it. That blackout/sadistic anger feeling. It’s still a science, but that “inner demon” we all have is the primal nature that takes over the conscious when allowed. Thus delivering 200% of normal output because the body’s limits are ignored for that duration. Regardless of pain or drawback. After the initial rage/burst, that’s why the downward energy spiral begins. Because the body has to recooperate from overclocking. And yes, it does actually trade vitality. And that’s why people’s hearts go kapoot if they perform at that level continuously or daily. Actually really cool because it’s a real life concept.
I think the Niko style is like Japanese Ju jitsu, Judo, kickboxing and fantasy combined.
The combos, submissions, sweeps, and footwork are 100% applicable. As for things like “Advance”, Adamantine Kata. Those are pretty unrealistic.

Much like the man himself, depends on how Hatsumi is doing at the moment. Against Bando, he would have been finished if one of his "whips" hit him. Against Raian who's baseline is almost as strong. Add in Removal. Well It'd be a wash either way. Whatever happens would be very fast. Raian head deep into the ground or Hatsumi with his neck snapped. Anyone that isn't Julius, Takatsuki, or similar has a high chance of getting steamrolled if they don't have the means to put Raian down. Especially people of Hatsumi's build and durability. If this was Kiryu we were taking about, maybe it'd be different. Because The Palm is an equalizer that negates raw durability that isn't Adamantine Form or similar.

It’s my head canon that the original Niko style is mostly defensive but ohma changed most of the defensive moves to be more offensive

In the first phase Ohma was landing the hits, but slowly Raian capitalized and got the upper hand, indicating he was stronger than Ohma in both of their base form In the second phase Ohma with Advance is slightly above base Raian, it seemed like a back and forth but Ohma was landing more hits. 3rd Phase Ohma with advance and Raian with Removal were on par with each other, but Raian eventually got the upper hand, implying that Raian with Removal > Ohma with Advance Last phase, with both in their base forms again, Ohma got the upper hand this time because the moment he started using inner tactics he was dominating in the fight, Raian may have landed some few hits but he was mostly getting his shit rocked in the entirety of the last phase.

I kept hearing people compare Kengan to Baki so I decided to check this out. This is so much better than Baki. These fight scenes are beautifully choreographed. There’s an actual back and forth. In baki, all they do is stand there and exchange blows while yapping. There’s actually fighting in kengan
