The JAZZ WAGON! Watch CJ RISLOVE sing an original, written just the day before 😳 Idol auditions 2024

This guy made me smile from the moment I first saw this clip. Just love the uncomplicated, authentic way he goes about everything. I also admire people who have a dream at 14 years old, starts with a $5 bill, and ends up realising their dream.
Enter... the Jazz Wagon! A nomadic life of adventure and excitement, where CJ committed himself to never be stuck, AND - to write at least a verse and a chorus every single day! That's really something.
In this video I analyse his American Idol audition. What did YOU think about it? I would love to hear your views in the comments.

  • I’m so glad CJ was on American Idol that we were able to know this amazing songwriter and musician. I love the beauty in the simple things, the real, the raw, the simple but highly creative and different than the rest. CJ is already a superstar in my mind, and I’ll continue following his music career for as long as he makes beautiful music! ❤

  • It’s so difficult to fairly critique something like this. I’m not a musician, which is why I appreciate critiques from the pros. I’m sure the chords are very simple or whatever, but once you acknowledge that it’s an unfinished song he just wrote yesterday all of that sort of goes out the window! An audition like this is supposed to showcase you at your best, and they had him do this… and it was actually a great song! I’m just so impressed 😂 I think he’s going to have a large audience rooting for him because of this, so Katy did him a huge favor!

  • What a lovely review I just came across today 🫢 love YOUR voice btw. he never took a piano lesson so I love to hear when people enjoy his playing. You can find the non-polished full demo version of the song on KZhead. Cheers.

  • I agree with the authenticity thing. CJ seemed authentic, unlike other idol auditioners like Benson Boone, whose audition just seemed so inauthentic to me.
