I really think you should give it a try to something small, maybe like remaking an old castle set and see how this community likes it.

    • Chisiled Red Sandstone has the wither on it and you can also get the wither painting

      @polarnnico@polarnnico2 жыл бұрын
    • @@polarnnico Ah yeah true. The problem is though it doesn’t refer to you how to make it. For someone who has never played Minecraft before, the only way you would know is by seeing the wither picture and taking a random guess on how to make it, looking at an official guidebook by Mojang, or somewhere on the internet. IMO, if you put something(by something I mean a mob, item, quest, etc) in a game, there should be a way to tell you that feature is in it. Either through directly telling you or inferring it through the environment/writing(such as how a nether portal being made is inferred through ruined nether portals), you shouldn’t have to look somewhere else outside the game.

  • One of the biomes I wish was in this was the swamp. there’s so much potential for improvement in the Minecraft swamps, from the witch hut, to improvements in surface or underwater terrain generation(areas like sinkholes that stay just below the dirt and act like waterlogged caves but entirely in dirt, clay, tree roots, etc.) , to newly redesigned swamp trees for a more properly wild look.

    @arlen7726@arlen77262 жыл бұрын
    • @Mr Monkey biome reworks are still a valid concept even if structures are barely part of the equation. Think about the most impressive swamps irl or in other media, there’s an absolute ton Mojang could do to improve the current swamps by comparison.

      @arlen7726@arlen77262 жыл бұрын
    • @Mr Monkey something of a revamp for the underwater parts and the areas of land right at, or just below, water-level. Mud like soul-sand or soul-soil but lacking the bubble columns, the occasional patch of moss carpet on land, ‘fallen trees’ like you see occasionally in forest biomes but underwater as well, Mossy plank blocks and maybe mud-brick blocks, Maybe a heightened chance of a lush-cave biome generating beneath a Swamp or forest, ‘Submerged hollows’ like waterlogged sinkholes with mud and potentially Drowned, but I also think the hanging roots need to be able to be waterlogged. Imagine the feeling of swimming through 1-high spaces filled with hanging roots, or even just crawling through something like that, mapmaking concept ready to go right there! As a general note, the swamp trees definitely need an update, they don’t look wild enough for a swamp.

      @arlen7726@arlen77262 жыл бұрын
    • @Mr Monkey you seem to be operating on the assumption that generating structures is the only thing that can really make a biome good or interesting. Badlands biomes are a really amazing place to set up a base with minimal terrain changes, and I love the dark-oak forests and mega-taiga even if an individual example of those biomes doesn’t have the associated structures. The reason deserts are so utterly bland isn’t just that their structures are overdue for an update, it’s that it’s literally just flat sand for 98% of it. Real-world deserts generally have at least a tiny bit more variety, sand dunes, desert scrublands with low bushes, cactus, and sparse grasses… at least *something*

Just a really simple modular approach that provides a great stating point for any builder. Two other KZheadrs I found really helpful are BigBadBam (he doesn't do Minecraft anymore) and Archaleus (who is awesome). Jeracraft has some pretty good block-by-block tutorials as well. Trixy's great, but if you're comparing yourself to a guy with years of experience, unlimited play time and creative mods ... _possibly_ counterproductive?
