The combat is absolutely fantastic. It's the kind of sword fighting I've always wanted in a game. Precise, clean and fluid animations. I really hope games in the future take a leaf out of this games book.

Got a PS4 a few days ago and bought this along with it. It's the samurai game I've always dreamed of. It's got duels, beautiful environments, and more. This is quite simply the best thing ever.
And a few days later, same position? I was in love with this game…for about 8-10 hours. Then i lost all interest. If I play now, it’s really just to ride around and marvel at how good it looks. Combat mechanics are good…but it’s literally the same thing over and over and over again. Couldn’t get more than an hour into act 2. Big disappointment
@@cheefussmith9380 if that’s the case, mix it up a bit. Use different charms, builds, armor weapons, ghost weapons. This game offers a variety of available playstyles. Don’t stick to one.
You should get the god of war collection next it's expensive but worth it
@@poutinethief3672 there is some variability - but it’s pretty easy to build up all stats. And the armor and weapons are just visually different. Ghost weapons are fun and info like the different optional challenges when clearing forts. But honestly, I’m my opinion theres just not enough content here to match the ambition of this beautiful game.

I came to this video thinking maybe the older trailer would reflect the game being downgraded or the trailer looking better than the final but nah... the final is actually much better. Much better voice acting takes from both characters, more action in the showdown moments, much more excitement. Kudos to everyone who worked on the game. They did an amazing job.
It realy is. Honestly is the only thing that is a little different, is when you are actually playing the combat is faster. They might have slowed it down for the trailer.

The art is so beautiful. Even years later, seeing this again, I get chills from the overview at the beginning.
My most fun part in game it was simply hanging around the map. Challeging mongols and spreading terror in their hearts by night. The travellers outfit gaves me a simple guy vibes when it's actually a deadly samurai. Amazing game. Can't stop playing.
This looks beautiful. They better give us the option of the characters speaking Japanese with English subtitles though.

That sequence between Jin and his ally was absolutely breathtaking, the sun which contrasted and saturated the redness of the leaves beneath the tree they fought. Absolutely amazing.

This game is simply amazing…the entire game was locked to 30fps and it played and looked so damn good never any hint of slowdown during heated battles.The really optimize the hell out of the PlayStation 4.

Wow, as a Mongolian, I didn't expect the Mongol soldiers to actually speak Mongolian. Even though their accent is horrible, it's still understandable and I give them props for actually putting in the effort. I'm a huge fan of Japanese history and that of the Samurai. This gives me goosebumps.

In western movies, Japan is often presented as the Japan the western people imagine and it is different from the actual one. What this game is great about is the meticulous and accurate depictions of Japanese things. Kudos to the developers.

@@mohiuddinriad3062 I have ps4 pro + quite powerful pc and well.... I cant say that that Horizon Zero dawn is that good in graphics compression, but uncharted 4 is indeed really good. However pc ultra high sittings are still much better than 4k games on ps4 pro, for example Tomb Rider or Metro

Red Dead redemption 2 took nearly 8 years in development and the first trailer dropped more than a year before release. Cyberpunk was announced like 6 years ago and it took YEARS after those cinematic trailers before anything came out. FURTHERMORE, Ghost of Tsushima got delayed because the Last of Us 2 went from being delayed indefinitely to being released by the end of June due to leaks that emerged of the storyline and gameplay. It's annoying but an extra month for polish? That's hardly indicative of any "trouble" going on with the game.

I beat it on PS4, and just got it again for PS5 and the difference in the graphics is crazy. They didn't take a cheap shortcut and just upgrade it a little bit, it looks 10 times better on PS5.

XBOXRULES Yeah, under normal circumstances I would just do that. But none of them have a hard drive larger than 500 gigs yet. When they finally start releasing ones with more space, then I'll spend 500 bucks on one. Xbox IS my choice system. But, I don't have a problem with playstation either. The last good Samurai game "in my opinion" was the original Kengo. But again, matter of opinion. Each to their own.

I've studied Japanese Sword fighting. The combat couldn't be more realistic. Fights are ended in one move itself. With the first opponent, before the bladed were drawn, I was like "sidestep to the right and go for the throat in the draw itself". Loved it when I saw that's exactly what happened

If I’m not mistaken, the default is Japanese with English subtitles. Sucker Punch mentioned in interviews being as authentic as possible to the source material. The subtitled version of this trailer is floating around, not hard to find.

I've played Red Dead Redemption, Both Spider-Man games star wars battlefront 2, star wars jedi fallen order all of the Assassins creed games except Valhalla some Call of duty warzone ghost of tsushima some fortnight, Zelda breath of the wild, Arms, I've played to many lego games to remember, Batman Arkh night, and other games that I don't remember, so yah I have played a lot of games dude
Developers who want to make their games more immersive should really look at their combat systems. This game is a prime example. That fight at the end with the girl...based off the level of immersion we had leading up to it, that first cut should have been a deathblow. But instead it did the same old video game thing of attacks connecting and drawing blood and the enemy acting like nothing happened because their health wasn't low enough. When it comes to bladed weapons, that makes very little sense. Games like this need combat to be based on stamina. The more you fight, the more tired the combatants get. Once they get too tired, they begin to make mistakes. Maybe they block high with the blade pointed to the wrong side exposing the lower opposite leg. That can be a legit cut with blood. Their animations can reflect that and so can their gradually less impressive defense. Then once they've been worn out and they've been cut in those less fatal areas once or twice THEN you can have a fatal slash or stab to end the fight. Just my opinion. The health mechanic should be replaced with a stamina and coordination mechanic and blood should have a real purpose in combat.

Certainly more cinematic. Cuts and dodges and parries accumulate into bruises and scratches that complicate into wounds and slowing from blood loss. Works great for a planned narrative event but gameplay is different. I wonder if video games can get there.

The Kamikaze (Divine Wind) from which the WW2 suicide pilots took their name was a massive storm that miraculously hit at just the perfect time to sink the Mongol invasion fleet and save Japan from disaster. The wind in the game should be getting much stronger very shortly.

Legendary game I cant believe I waited so long to play it.
This is one of those games where you do the tutorial, immediately turn off all on-screen prompts/noise, and proceed to spend 300 ingame hours wandering the world and getting into random swordfights.

Can’t believe it’s been over a year.. first game i ever achieved platinum on. Played through 5 times. Wish i could do it all over again new.

PC games nowadays (most of them) are made for consoles and ported and not the other way around.

I’m 39 as well and I wholeheartedly agree with you. I’ve been playing Shadow of War while my daughter just finished beating Herizon Zero Dawn.(insane graphics too lol). The Graphics, Music, and Story Telling, are on a whole another level now. What an Amazing time for gamers....

The mission plays a little different in the actual game, which is to be expected from two years of development. But it was still fun nontheless. To anyone rewatching now that the game is released, I say hello 👋
