My ideapad is Ryzen 5 and RTX3050Ti with upgraded ram to 16, two of (1RX8).. it's really king of budget, most modern games can run at steady 60fps with almost high to max settings at 1080P and dlss on.
Hows the battery
Its good that they do single channel 8gb cuz its cheaper to just buy 1 stick of RAM to upgrade than to buy 2 sticks especially since its ddr5
nice
so if they gave you 0gb ram you have to buy 2 sticks?
@@morlipu6786if they gave you 2x 4gb sticks then you would have to spend more to upgrade to 16gb compared to just buying another 8gb stick.

Nice video. Some video editing on these gaming laptops would be nice especially this model as am thinking of buying it. Thanks.
Hope you guys have a great thanksgiving
I have this laptop in i7-12700H, 32gb ram and RTX 3050Ti - I'm not a big gamer but i use it as a secondary laptop for a bunch of 3D modeling, rendering and photo editing - and its never missed a heartbeat. Bought it for less than $1000 USD when it first came out - its paid itself off many times over. It's a little on the chunky side so i use a P14s Gen 4 for when i want to be mobile. For work that's far more heavy duty i use a P15 Gen 2.
If you have a gamestop near you check out some of their 50% off clearance, grabbed a razer blade 14 with 3070ti for 1200 and bought my daughter an MSI laptop for 440, not all gamestops have the deals but I was blown away
For afterburner to register; you have to run the game first, minimize it, then run afterburner, the tab back to the game. This works for me, at least. Great video, as always.
Just got my Gaming 3 yesterday. After a few upgrades, such as 32GBs of 3200MHz RAM and a 1TB SSD for storage, this thing is amazing! Keep in mind though that when gaming the battery will discharge so I would recommend getting a charger with a higher wattage. The laptop comes with a 135w charger so I have a 230w coming in tomorrow to circumvent the battery discharging will gaming. The laptop can play all games at high, but it will further discharge the battery.
Did getting the 230w help?

You're supposed to play while plugged in man. Most of the laptops don't run with full potential while unplugged. And gaming is always advised to be done while plugged in.

So excited to get this laptop, just purchased this with a crucial 16gb ram ddr5 and a 256gb nvme ssd m.2.
So after having for a while.. curious how many who have bought this had issues with the Screen not coming on when they first got it? Mine and 2 friends both had same issue and came from what seemed same batch.. the fix was to open it and remove the wire connecting the battery as well as the little watch battery that keeps the clock running. Let sit for 10 min replug wires then turn on. Will have to wait a while then when it comes on make sure you do the updates. Updates correct the issue after this point. If that doesnt work hook an hdmi up to it with a monitor. Fixed all three this way
Thanks this helped a lot, I’m about to buy my own
I'm thinking getting one for architecture and casual gaming since I already have a nice desk PC, I was interested in the ASUS Zephyrus g14 because of the raw power that it has but the screen is too small for work and the g15 goes off the roof for my budget, the upgrades on the Lenovo look nice, but what about battery life and heating?
They should make a 750 - 800$ version of this with 16GB dual channel and 1TB SSD just so we don't have to crack open a new laptop and do these imo essential upgrades.
They should also have a thirty sixty in it
750-800 is far to much 700 max or they could make it 800 but upgrade some components

I bought this laptop off Amazon for the $579 price. I updated the RAM to 32GB and put in a second 1t drive in the second hard drive socket. My only complaint is the main hard drive is a 256g 42mm long one. and since this can use gen 4, trying to find one that is larger in that size is proving to be a challenge. I mainly use it for content creation for photos and video. Solid entry level, with decent build quality.
I got it too on black friday and I'm looking info about how much RAM it can take and there is a lot of contradictory information. Some sites say up to 16gb, others 32gb, others 64gb... Do you know how much RAM it can take? Did you test it with 32gb? I was looking at amazon and I can get 2x16gb for like 146$ but I can get a one 32gb stick crucial for 112 bucks. I am a huge fan of Lenovo laptops, I have one for work and one for personal (Legion 5 Pro) and even that came with single channel RAM which is something Lenovo really needs to stop doing, especially with Ryzen CPU's as they are far more hamstrung by Single Channel then Intel is. I upgraded my Legion 5 Pro to dual channel and it made a huge difference, mostly in my 1% lows. For these reviews though, it would be nice to see you guys go more in depth. Open the thing up, show us what the upgrade options are. Are there open DIMMS for more memory? is there an additional M.2 slot? If I want to purchase this laptop, even after watching your review, I would still have quite a bit more research to do in order to find things like how much upgradeability I am getting. Does this laptop have a MUX switch? there are questions the viewer might have that is not answered by just taking it out of the box and playing Warzone and Fortnite. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to bag on the Toasty Bros, I like you guys, I sub to your content.. I just would really like to see you take the next step on these reviews. You guys are cool and entertaining, but your product reviews are pretty thin overall and just adding a few more minutes to explain externals and features would add quite a bit. Happy Holidays guys!
I agree with the lack of dual channel ram from stock, Asus has issues with it as well. In the low end I understand sometimes as will DDR5 the smallest size you can even buy is 8gb, and with DDR4 there are 4gb sticks but they tend to cost more or the same as the 8gb sticks so they tend to just stick with one of those. I wish they'd just make the jump to 16gb dual channel but at least they are easy upgrades
Totally agree, I’m asking around now to see if it has extra slot for SSD and which 512GB SSD I should buy, cuz I don’t want to buy all the extra stuff and find out I can’t install them after I opened up the cover.
I just bought this based off this review. First gaming lap top

According to Jarrod's Tech, ddr5 isn't affected much by single/dual channel. Performance is roughly the same. Don't know, haven't tested it but I trust him.
It's the same idk what this guy is talking about.
@adamarz9248 pointed out to me that, to your point, there isn't such a thing as single-channel DDR5. I googled it, and the results are telling me that every ddr5 DIMM is natively dual-channel. So looks = same like you say.
even though all of it is duel channeled I would still get another stick cuz 16 is way better then 8 gbs and it would obviously perform better

I have Lenovo Ideapad Gaming with 16GB ram and i5 12500H processor, RTX 3050. Happy with it but I would recommend people to get a bit stronger laptop since you would want your laptop to be about as strong at least as Xbox Series S. For example Starfield will be released to Xbox Series S and I wish mine was just a little bit stronger, like a RTX 3060 or 3070, which would be more on par with or stronger than the Xbox. Right now with the RTX 3050 I doubt it would perform as well as the weakest Xbox.
