To be fair here, kratos lost a majority of his power when greece was destroyed. Still a monster of a being, but without a worshipping pantheon, he was incredibly weak comparitively

@@goldenhate6649 That's pretty much a myth. The only things Kratos lost were his magic and most of the God Weapons. Any physical prowess he had before (strength, speed, endurance, durability, reaction time, etc) remained completely unfazed. His physical feats between the the OG games and the new ones match, with some of his new feats scaling him as stronger than he ever way when he fought the Olympus Pantheon. For instances, Kratos boxing with Baldur at the beginning and winning while holding back is one of his highest showings. Baldur damn near one shot the World Serpent. The same world serpent that was only there in the past because him and Thor clashed so hard that they damaged Yggdrasil and broke time. But Kratos was just eating hits from this dude like they were candy.
Still crazy knowing that baldur and odin at this point did NOT know who Kratos really was. That's why baldur is constantly surprised and even exclaims "why don't you die!?"
Well the thing is Odin and other gods in Asgard knew of his existence just a while before the fight, remember Faye had protection spell around their house, that is the reason why Atreus asks how Draugrs have come so close to their house when they never did before, Kratos cutting down the trees for Faye’s funeral was the reason they were exposed to Odin. That’s why in the sequel when Thor fights Kratos he knows about who actually Kratos is

The only times Kratos was even remotely serious was any time Atreus was in trouble, during Alfheim for example Kratos stayed in rage mode and started to rage out and destroy the temple of Light to get Atreus back. Or when Kratos and Atreus were fighting Magni and Modi, Kratos EXECUTED Magni in moments when Atreus was being pressed. TL:DR Kratos is holding himself back to not be his past self, and if you ask me, Norse Kratos way stronger than his past self.

Just as a reminder. Freya saw a profficy that Bauldr was gonna die, she was like "oh hell naw, no one taking my baby" and put a curse on him so he wouldn't die. It's a curse because he can't feel anything, being burned, shocked, eating, drinking, women, nothing. Only thing that could break the curse was mistletoe. In mythology is kind of the same, except she threatened everything in existence to never harm him, except mistletoe because it's harmless.

@blankboy39_ If you plan on doing more game characters, you should definitely do Dante from the Devil May Cry series. He has a couple of cool moments in one, don't bother with two(it's dog ass), Three he is full on disrespectful every scene he's in, Four he's got a couple of good ones and then there's five where he starts dancing like MJ in one scene. There is even an anime, you can treat yourself too that's even canon to the games.

This is unironically my favorite fight scene in any video game. The way they strike the perfect balance between having some things prescripted to give it that cinamatic feel, while also keeping you on your feet and making you feel like the stakes are real! Obviously it loses some of thay magic after a few play throughs, but damn, this is one if the few time where i honestly wish i could forget this and re-exerience this for the first time!

The developers have literally said Kratos held back in the entire norse saga because his power used to be so intrinsically tied to his rage. He didn't want to lose himself and become The Ghost of Sparta again. Especially now with his son Atreus, remember he was teaching Atreus techniques he had spent years working on in order to focus and maintain composure over sinking into a sea of fury.
