Today, the use of encryption is more important than ever for both businesses and personal use. Whether it is to protect confidential information or to promote free speech, encryption is most likely used to some extent. The idea of protecting data from unauthorized eyes goes back to the days of Julius Caesar who used the Caesar Cipher; however, it is possible that it was used even before then.
Join me for this video as we will break down the two major forms of encryption, Symmetric and Asymmetric encryption. People are most frequently using proven algorithms developed by very smart math wizards; however, it is important that you understand encryption from a high-level.

  • Hi Jon, for the last question you made, we can use Diffie-Helman key exchange in order to obtain a secret key for every individual in the symmetric encryption, am i right?

    @estebangomez1823@estebangomez18233 жыл бұрын
    • The usage really depends on what you are trying to accomplish but yes with Diffie-Hellman you can exchange a private key between two parties over symmetric encryption without prior connections/knowledge of each other.

  • Please assist to give key length & block size of following Asymmetric Encryption Algorithms: RSA - ECC- ELGANAL-DSA- Diffie-Hellman. thank you

  • I still working on my CISSP, and using 2 simulator, I have felt disappointment many times, because I did not get to pass them, even today I changed the strategic putting focus on my weaknesses!!!! During the test is possible to use other application? or the computer will be unblock only for use using the test?

    • Be careful doing too many practice questions because if you aren't grasping the material it won't actually help. I'm not sure why you would need access to other applications but the exam environment is locked down.

    • @@JonGoodCyber I am using Boson Exam and CompTIA like simulator, It is good? and beside I'm using Official Study Guide Sybex. My mother tongue is not English, that's why I thought that I could use google translate for tricking question.

      @luciasolis208@luciasolis2083 жыл бұрын
    • Boson is the best in my opinion and the questions sometimes are even more difficult than the actual exam. I would take the exam in the language you feel most comfortable otherwise you might struggle.

  • The only thing I don't get is how the key gets transferred in a symmetric key encryption if the key is sent in plain text(I've only heard of diffie Hellman being used in asymetric key encryption) then what's the point of symmetric key encryption Plz reply

    @lilith3628@lilith36282 жыл бұрын
    • There are several ways to exchange a symmetric key: 1. Diffie Hellman 2. Out of band by loading the key onto a USB flash drive for exchange 3. Encrypt it with another symmetric key and exchange it
