Lol, Bear Grylls doesn't teach you anything about "surviving in the wild", what he does do really well is find the most extreme path possible to seriously heighten the drama. DON'T DO THIS IN A REAL SURVIVAL SITUATION! But it certainly makes for great tv, and would be a lot of fun with the right equipment and someone who knows how to handle it.

Berly Are you kidding? The single best way to respect nature is to be in it and living off what you catch and find. I bet you buy pre-packaged supermarket goods wrapped in plastic or sprayed with chemicals... thereby leaving a far bigger footprint on this earth, than they did catching and eating a pigeon. Sheesh.
listen. I don't critize Esqimos that live of the land. These clowns are going for a sleep over in nature, they could easily throw a couple of granola bars in their bag. Funny thing, today I gave food to pigeons (instead of eating them) and made my own cosmetics, so that I will reuse old jars. and don't use sheesh on people that are older than 10. and yes, I do look for chemicals when I go shoping. my favorite.
