Super happy owner of an OA4 and never regretted after H12 came out! Ease of use, reliability, magnetic mount, battery life, low light capabilities, 10 bit dlog-m (which will match with my next dji mini4 pro), i already have an insta GO 2 for the “impossible” shots and i’m good to go! Use all of these stuff for my gravel bike rides and on vacation and i can’t be happier than that

So Im interested in GPS and other telemetry overlay - are you saying that the gopro11 is the only option for this? (Is aftermarket SW available for the GP12 to add in telemetry data) ? (Think motosports racing - track position, speed, rpm overlays, etc)
Does it necessary to use dji mic? Is it better than just using the action 4 cameras built in mic?

Thanks , looking for a good comparison for my travels with family and GoPro was originally on my list but its busted support is everywhere, DJI is great, but pre-ordering only in asia, so its also out that leaves the GO 3 which seems to be more accomodating for everyday vlogging
Have all 4, For me both insta360s especially the X3 is king especially for travels. It catches literally everything 360 degrees. "Record now and frame later" is incomparable. For example,jump skydiving - only to find out gopro not framed correctly- not gonna happend in X3.
How convenient is it doing post framing in the app.. ??
@@THEDJM_ very easy and fast. plus you can make several clips by just using one captured video by reframing different angles.
I'm mostly looking for an action cam to record my travels, hotels, beaches, live events, etc... The X3 looks awesome. I'm not super savvy with technology like I used to be when I was younger, so I am looking for a cam with the easiest/least hassle program to edit and upload content to youtube, facebook, and instagram.

the lowlight possibility of action 4 is insane! 5:42 i'm amazed.
You covered everything i needed except for battery life... currently use GoPro 7 and 8's for racing but they only last about 45 minutes when shooting in 4K. I need something with a lot longer battery life as its a pain to swap batteries while the cameras are mounted.

I think that you should go with the 12. the Enduro battery really makes a difference, atleast in my experience. I own a Hero7 Black and a Hero11 Black. The difference is clear; I mean, stabilization on every mode! I’ll take that. Also overheating. I’ve found that the 7 overheats and separates your recording into multiple different videos.
Also can the Insta GO3 be mounted inside a Helmet (think motorsports racing for track days)?
X3 and dji I left gopro last year and have been super happy

what are you using to edit gopro videos? It seems like the gopro computer program is gone.
I went DJI 4. I’ve never had anything to compare to but from the reviews it had enough to make it the better choice. They’re pretty neck and neck for my needs (an off-road motorcycle trip next month). I may add a 360 at a later date.
Probably a cellphone user… you would see the reality on a big screen
Go pro is more consistent in Dynamic range but dji just edges on its sensor and mounting system

I am looking to purchase one of these, it will mainly be used for snowboarding. Which one would be best? I go once or twice a year so not much, but want something i can film on that is good quality and the stills are good enough (doesn't have to be perfect).
Great Jon.. action 4 for me As a predominantly recording in low light, because I’m a wedding DJ. And it looks great. But I do have the Insta flow 360 and you are right the Insta 360 app is the best by far. I will never waste money on GoPro again everyone I’ve had has been glitchy software interface is horrible.
Very nice video indeed. My main objective to get hero12 or action 4 is to record time lapses. As you've mentioned Gopro had more resolution in this category. I also have s22 untra which i use for fantastic timelapses . Do u think getting Gopro12 will provide me even bett e r resolution than s22?.
I think so, yeah. the 5.3K is noticeable from a jump like 2.7K or HD. The stabilization on TimeWarp is absolutely incredible, especially with a gimbal. Then again, S22 can record 8K, I believe.

I still have the original Osmo Action, still works pretty good. I would like to get a GoPro. Looking at this video though the Go 3 looks pretty good, however, not sure I would want it for my main camera
Main camera to me would be a Nikon or Canon. Not these rinky dink cameras.... If you don't have a real viewfinder, how do you manage to separate and compose the image from reality ? Plus the lack of actual manual controls on the fly makes them "awkward". But that's me.
I'm currently trying to use microsoft clipchamp to edit my motologs togeather but the program doesnt like my .mp4 files. when i use clipchamp i get so frustrated because hours of waiting can go up in smoke at any moment. i use a gopro hero 10 in 1080 rez at 120 frames. any recomendations on a editing program?
Thanks for the comparison tests but I think I’m even more confused now than I was before 😂. I need a camera to capture 4x4 videos (internally and externally) and videos on my Triumph Speed Twin 1200. I’m happy to commit to specific ecosystems. I.e I have a DJI Drone, does that have any relevance to going with the DJI Action camera? It seems GoPros are more popular where I am, however that makes me want to go with another brand even more.

Great video ! I use X3 Action 4 and Go3. Each of them have their own identity. I can say go3 is maybe the more easy and discret to use and really suprise also by the quality of the footages. Action 4 was a big suprised when they released it and modes are really easy to use. X3 still great also for 360 insane vdo.. about gopro I gave up after Gopro 8.. not a big evolution from 11 to 12 at my opinion .

Dji action 4 is so good but I need the 8:7 5.3k from gopro for both social media platforms. Hope the iphone 16 allows for it or the DJI action 5.

So i just upgraded from the gopro 7 to the action 4, and i'm really happy so far, i wouldn't mind a 360 camera one day, but i wanted to upgrade my normal action cam first. i do wish the OA4 had some of the modes like startrail and light painting but ah well, if dji don't then ill go back to gopro in 5 years when i upgrade again haha
GoPro 7 to GoPro 12 is a massive upgrade. I’d consider selling that DJI camera, only because of the 5.3K and HyperSmooth.

I use the 12 for daytime stuff. I’d use the a4 low light and use my x3 for hand held action (snowboard stuff). I find the 12 to have better audio than the rest though. Which surprised me.
For indoor camera and video, which one is better, I'm a property agent and only need these for my work, no need for a 360 camera

People complain about Gopro's mounting system, but basicslly is designed to use it for action sports, so the magnetic one from DJI is not that safe... just my opinion
I read that the DJI Action 4 is the only one that doesn't overheat and shut off... I was excited when the GP12 was announced but this doesn't work for longer form stuff... Plus the larger sensor makes this a no brainer... I shoot in 4K60 usually Do the 360 cameras had issues with battery life and or shutting down or record time limits?
Gopros only overheat if you shoot for long videos like 30-40 minutes and there is no air circulation whatsoever or if it's really hot already. In 25c taking 1-2 min clips is no issue, only long takes I take are timelapses and those have not been an issue. If your cycling down the mountain you will have plenty of air to cool down the camera. The X2 that I have had no issues of shutting down, just make sure you have proper speed SD card. Though I don't film more than 1-2min clips with X2 and only longer takes on timelapse (though timelapse on any camera does not heat the camera as much as video like 4k60).
@@kaltask1 I need it to run for 2 hrs so 40 mins is not long enough... my use is not as an action cam per se - more as a mini version of a camcorder... but good to know that it will at least run for 30-40 mins -
@@mediacreationsusa with light breeze it runs double that, though for 2h 40mins you will need external battery in any action cam. Taking battery out and having external power might be cooler than charging and running the camera at the same time. If you do not have any breeze or timelapse or timewarp wont do for your recording, then get the action 4.
@@kaltask1 No breeze it's inside for theater use... yeah I was gonna just run it off a bigger ext power source - the Action 4 has a bigger sensor so that's important to me too... The GP12 had the best IS though on all of them that I saw for sure...

It doesn't. You'd have to go 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable into the MediaMod.

watching this review vids always make me think what if went I was on my exchange semester abroad and I use x360 instead of pocket 2 then I could ve gotten all that beautiful looking scenery everytime and I dont need to think about which angle i need to record from T.T but yea pocket 2 is nice too, and the idea of using selfie stick in a crowd kinda embarassed me XD

I circled the couch (and even though it's a quick shot), if you pause you can see how much more detail can be seen in those dark shadows on the DJI. Honestly though, it's VERY similar, and I almost never shoot in low light on my action cam anyway.

DJI usually seems to add a tad more "digital sharpening" over the others. Sometimes I really like it... and sometimes it's just a tad too much. All personal preference at this point :)
@@AuthenTech did you not change sharpness in action 4? because medium sharpness in gopro (in 4k very visible) is way too sharp, low it is quite too soft.

I’m a huge cyclist and the fact the Go Pro Hero 12 removed the GPS chip this years is a deal breaker. Me and other members in our cycling clubs use the gps data for training. It’s a shame because I was def looking to upgrade from the Hero 9 Black and take advantage of the Go Pro subscription deal smh. When paired with the Garmin Virb desktop app the go pro gps data shows a course route, and map. I don't need GoPro’s GPS data to analyze trainings, this job is done by Garmin perfectly. I need GPS data from the action cam to show Telemetry data in a Video or photos. For this purpose Gopro’s GPS data was good enough. It's possible to show Telemetry data from Garmin in a Gopro video, but this creates more effort to edit the video - therfore it's no option for me.
Both DJI and Insta360 have GPS remotes, something to consider. Not sure if the data pulls into that Garmin app. Sounds cool though
The image from the 11 is almost identical to the 12. 11 has gps and looks much better than a 9. Save some money and grab an 11.
