I think that's one of those things that's contextual. If she's serious, she's probably dated immature people and she doesn't want to risk dating emotionally stunted individuals. However, I bet if she really liked someone and the stuffed animal didn't appear sentimental, she would change her mind about it. Otherwise, that would be an insane deal-breaker, especially when having toys as an adult is considered to be a positive for her. What is really annoying me about Erin’s plush speech is she is generalizing adults (mostly men) who have them as childish/weird. I don’t think she realizes that for most ADULTS it’s usually a form of comfort or a therapeutic practice for trauma, anxiety, etc.. Also, if a child is growing up without pets or any sort of emotional animal support in the home they often resort to, you guessed it, stuffed animals. So that stuffed toy that a man/person has on their bed and Erin decides to judge could unknowingly be the very thing that helped them cope/get through their childhood. A type of bond that is formed like that as a child is nearly impossible to let go of. There is nothing to be ashamed of for owning one and displaying it. She is wrong and it feels like she may be projecting about this topic. Idk, it’s just weird and her mindset on this is toxic in my eyes.

I agree with that, but I'd like to add that some people pass stuffed animals through generations. I have a fox stuffed animal that I display in my room because it was originally my great great grandfather's, and it's been passed down through the generations. I love all my plushies, but I take special pride in that one. If someone came over, saw this prized family heirloom, and got annoyed and left, I can't even imagine how I'd respond. Like, it's so weird to take THAT much of an issue with it.

It's not the HAVING of the fleshlight that's concerning, it's the kind of person they would have to be in order to just have it sitting out on a nightstand. I saw my bf had a stuffed animal that he took away with him when he would have to work away and sleep in a tent... and I fell in love. (He would say "Home is where the bear is.") I loved that he wasnt embarrassed and then I pulled my bear out that I'd hidden away (from embarrassed). Stephen and George (our bears) had a few photo shoots together when we would go camping then and we'd put them in scenes to surprise the other when we came back to said tent 😂 💕

As a full grown adult (with an adult kid!) I have several stuffed animals!! My husband even has a cuddly octopus that I got him (we have one each, you can flip them to be angry faces, it’s a great way to communicate feeling grumpy without having to find words!). Cuddly toys/stuffed animals/teddies are great!! 💜

I had to put my foot down when I ended up with like 5 of them, but Erin, come on; I would be more freaked out if I saw a guy proudly displaying his fleshlight on the bed rather than a few stuffed animals.
