By sheer luck, this flight was wide open on this particular night, with almost 80 seats unoccupied - mostly in economy plus. I was assigned 8A, the absolute best in the plane. Why? It's not a bulkhead so you can turn the empty row into a couch, there is a ton of legroom and the engine view is fantastic, to name a few reasons!
N14102 gave me a little scare when I noticed that it had been in Greensboro, North Carolina for 26 days and this was its first day back in service. Greensboro is a known paint and heavy check station for United - so I didn't know if the livery was still on the plane. Much to my enjoyment, it still was and all was good!
This flight flies entirely during nighttime hours, so don't expect to see much - just enjoy the beautiful, powerful sounds of the RB211 engines for 4 hours!
