    • @@casandrablue2284 They were tied at that point but I understand what you mean. I too thought it wasn't aggressive, it was Alex who tried to back up/juke orlando which got him ran over. The disputed tag was the more interesting controversy as the yellow card didn't actually affect anything, and its honestly a toss up as to whether the tag was made or not. If I'm a ref I think I would have called the tag initially, and upon review I don't think it could be overturned either way as it was that 50/50. Either way great match.

  • This is still extremely entertaining and the sport is always growing. I mean WCT had multiple cameras at different angles ready and waiting to be reviewed. If 3+ cameras can't 100% confirm the tag I don't have a problem with the call. I will agree that it seemed his fingers changed to the direction of the shoulder from touching it and making contact BUT that is why we have referees there and the DTR as well as the editing staff and production crew. Thank you WCT!!!!

    @Sumguyinavan_@Sumguyinavan_2 жыл бұрын
    • Yellow card was completely unearned. It was caused by the runner's attempted juke move that brought him back in line with the chaser after the tag had been applied. It was probably only issued because the coach/team captain was complaining. Even the runner who was "tackled" had no problem with it.

      @billyw8186@billyw81862 жыл бұрын
    • I agree, but seeing as we hardly ever see yellow cards, it probably won’t mean much over time. Refs probably just want to send a message that the sport is generally going to be held to a high standard of safety and sportsmanship. (Though the Marrero captain there might come out looking worse)

Even if you got a card both times you ran, you probably weren't going to run again before the match was over anyway. Unless you managed to get one while evading as well somehow. Seems like a useless penalty.

Lando has a tendancy to side step a little too far. From what we see today, PHAT has 3 really top performing athletes, they would be even greater if their team strenght was more balanced. @crimsontide9532@crimsontide95322 жыл бұрын
    • I'd usually agree with you in any other scenario, but this was a do or die moment that would knock them out with no seconds to spare. It could have easily been what you said, but it also could have been a spur of the moment attempt to get a replay in hopes that he might have tagged him, even if he was unsure. He had no hesitation because there was no other attempt, it was a do or die moment with that being his one last chance. If that had happened with 10 seconds left, I'd 100% jump on board with what you're saying. Personally I feel like he might have barely grazed his shirt, but not enough for the fingers to give contact to the runner where he could have felt it, in the runners defense. I think in the end it was the right call though. It's up to the tagger to make it obvious enough for the refs to call it, which in the end didn't happen, even with the different angled replays. Times like this during pivotal moments happens in all sports. All you can do is try and be as fare as possible to both parties, which is why the rules are the way they are when it comes to reviewing replays and making fare decisions. Correct decision was made. It is what it is, fare win imo.

  • That was awesome. I can see how both participants think they are right in a situation like that. It was so close we're talking a fingernail barely grazing the shirt so if there was just a bit of space between shirt and skin on the evader, the chaser could have felt his finger touch the shirt but the evader would not have felt the tag at all. It's kind of like in baseball where a batter's shirt is hanging out from his chest just a bit and the pitch grazes his shirt but doesn't hit his body. Still considered a hit by pitch by the rules.

  • THAT MIGHT OF BEEN A TAG AT THE END, BUT IT'S SO HARD TO TELL. LOOKS LIKE HE DIDN'T TOUCH HIM IF YOU ASK ME. GOOD GAME!

  • Marrero Gang should put David Nelmes in the final chase since he’s an expert of cutting down the space.

  • GGs to Phat but that tag should've counted at the end!

  • damn that's crazy they gave a yellow for that. and the announcer clearly has a problem with the captain of the one team, saying "he hasn't shut up the entire match" lol

  • I feel like if it's too close to call it should be a tag in a tied game situation like that cause it's fair that both teams just keep playing, a 2-1 on a iffy call is just unsatisfying

  • Slowing it down to 0.25 and zooming in it still isn't a clear tag. The second reach seemed to have more potential than the 1st, but that's under the obstacle so there is no way to confirm that one.. All in all I'm glad MG lost because the coach seemed to be complaining the ENTIRE time, and that's not what we need to start happening in WCT

  • I think WCT need to have higher frame-rates for DTR's. You can still have output be 25fps, even if you're capturing at faster rates. Might be too expensive though.
