My Thoughts on Bluey

Why are adults (me) watching a preschool show about a family of cartoon dogs? To get a better understanding, I watched every Bluey episode and then made a video about it.

  • Fun fact from an Aussie: A lot of the child voice actors (for bluey, bingo and some of their friends) are just children of the production team. They aren't listed in the credits to somewhat protect them and give them privacy since they're so young and becoming known at that age from such a popular show can become harmful. I just thought that was cool.

  • Bro, I just watched "The Sign", and I just would say that is the best Bluey's episode (even over Sleppytime, Baby Race or Cricket). It had everything. I mean, moments like when Bingo's crying or when Bandit ripped the sign off where so emotional; then Chilli tackling Bandit and crying on his shoulder, then kids running around the house, watching everything around, then the moment when Chilli takes out of the box the rug and they share the fish & chips (with the amazing animation of them while behind them is that "Golden sunset", all of that while episode was playing one of the best songs I've ever heard in an animated series. Funny detail is thats thanks to the girls trying to tell to Stripe and Bandit that "Wedding was off", Chilli decides to go with the girls to go and look for Frisky. Then when they make the first stop at Juice shop Bluey found a coin (this is really important); then Chilli founds out where Frisky could be, so they went to the hill. When they found her. Then when Chilli left her alone with Rad, they when to the telescope and Muffin stuck Bluey's coin in there (and they finally left it). Then all happend; the wedding, the house got sold, they were leaving; but right in that point we can see the dogs that bought the house in the same telescope where girls left the coin, then he used it and they saw that Winston dad's house was on sale, so they decide to don't buy Hellers house. Then when Bandit received the call from the real state agent; Joe Brum (Director and Creator of Bluey) and Ludo Studios gave us the best finish of a season that I've seen in a cartoon (Just after Regular Show's ending). But it wouldn't be like that hard without that music in the ending; music and vocals were perfectly fitted in the right moments, all meanwhile Hellers were just "living the moment" sitting on the kiwi rug, eating their fish and chips. It seems that everything worked out. 💙🧡

  • 12:21 Caillou doesn't suck. He isn't the one to blame. As I remember, the parents of Caillou are the ones to blame. Caillou is just a 10 years old, and his parents are spineless. Parents are the one to teach their kids to be better. If Caillou's parents constantly allow it to happen without taking action and, if it continues to happen, don't go to some professional for help, then... why do you blame Caillou? Parents must be able to do something much better than just run around and say "Caillou, that's bad!", and then not solving the problem when Caillou continues to do it again and again 13:18 It would become much worse actually. Parents would just place their responsibility on Caillou and then feel free to beat him up because "It's Caillou, he's bad! It's not like we are supposed to take the responsibility for his actions while he's 10 years old!"

I would even say they slip stuff in to pique a kid's curiosity so that they will ask their parents about it and will give the parents something to talk with their kids about.

      @scttydsntknw@scttydsntknw11 ай бұрын
    • If I recall correctly, the team first pitched the show as an adult-oriented sitcom. More family-friendly than "adult animation" tends toward these days, but decidedly for parents. The show didn't get picked up, and so they retooled it to be more about the kids, but the shows original premise lives on. I'm sorry about your miscarriage. My wife and I had two and nobody prepares you for it.

Religious moms can talk about the Bible saying God created all these others things and then ending with creating Man and so on. Give both views the ability to interpret the episode in their favor and there's nothing to complain about lol

It's like explaining Alaxander The Great's military success by his masterful strategy, technology, and that he was the Son of Zuse. I mean, if anyone is going to claim divinity, it might as well be the guy that conquered most of the world before he was 30. But more tresstral reasons can do all the work. So I'm not sure what Zeus adds.

  • What I like about Bluey is that the parenting is not what some people might consider stereotypical "new-age" parenting, where the kids just do whatever they want with no repercussions. Yes, there is no violence in the house, like corporal punishment, but the girls are still properly parented when they do something wrong. It's kind of amazing to see, actually. That tightrope balance of keeping your kids in line while not resorting to physical punishment, and sorting problems out thoughtfully and respectfully. The couple of times where either parent is about to lose their temper is relatable, but they never, ever cross that boundary, and the overall picture is just such a loving, caring family. What a well done show!

  • As an almost 26 year old woman who acts younger than my age I find that watching Bluey brings out my inner child. I relate to a lot of the characters (Muffin is the most relatable for me because she has adhd like me). Even though I don’t have kids, I do have a younger brother and younger cousins who enjoy the show.

  • As an Aussie, I am ashamed of Disney censoring any of the episodes of Bluey. Every episode is impactful and can share valuable lessons to kids. None are greater than others (though some may object). I'm glad you made a video on this to share this amazing show to more people.

    • As an American I too was PISSED at the censorship. But I was watching it today and something that I know was censored before was played. SO it might be step in the right direction. I love this show genuinely. I turned my kids on to it watching it alone in my room😂😂😂

  • As a mom, yeah, Bluey hits the moments where I’ve felt like I have failed, but it’s important to see things that i thought was wrong, being explained and saying “You’re doing great.” And then I proceed to ugly cry.

  • As a person who grew up in a very mentally and physically abusive household bluey really hit me hard and taught me alot about emotional control. I don’t plan on ever having kids but the show gave me a perspective on how I should treat kids with patience and care, unlike I was treated and it’s really beautiful.
