  • The lowering of the middle screens is powerful here, but was incredible live. There had just been a 15 minute break, so everyone was kind of relaxed, then all of a sudden the lights go down, “the writing on the wall” starts moving and red emergency lights appear with a deafening sound. And then the Battersea power station is lowered just in front of you. All leading to a second half of the show with outstanding songs and visuals. It was one of the most incredible things I had ever seen.

    • @@miro115 It's not as if Roger sat in one room and created the concept and idea and lyrics of the song and David sat in another and created the chord progression and the solos and all of the musical nuances, and then they came and mashed them together. Classic Floyd was always a purely collaborative effort, the music influenced and complimented the song concept and vice versa. David's composition is essential to the feel and impact of Roger's writing; without him, there is no Dogs, or Animals, or DSOTM, etc.

    • @@patrickreider9552 I've never said, there was no collaboration on the line: Gilmour-Waters. Of course, the most famous pieces are the result of the cooperation between the two. Something like Lennon-McCartney. We should certainly not forget Rick Wright in aspect of creativity partnership. (Nick, your merits are of a different nature ;)). So i think the only conclusion would be a big interview about it with Dave and Rog together and at the same time. This of course my wishful thought. Fact is: they complemented each other great, this is so called congenial duett

He's put out a great body of work under his own name past 10 years or so (great intro song is Desert Raven). This song and performance is hauntingly good. Anyone know what performance this is from? Was fortunate to see Buffalo and Lyon France on this tour.

  • I saw this in Kansas City on the first night of the tour. The crowd pretty well lost it when Battersea Station emerged from the middle of the arena. The “Resist What?” part wasn’t in the show yet though. A few people left when Trump’s face appeared on the screens during Pigs (Three Different Ones). I found that odd. Waters has made his political views very clear over the last four or five decades. How his view of Trump could be a surprise to anyone at this point is beyond me.

    • I went to the "Dark Side Of The Moon" and "The Wall" concerts but when Waters brought a long haul ticket on the Anti-trump train it got a but Hack and over shadowed the Fun aspect of going to a show, I'm not an American so I don't need to be told Trump-Bad at every turn - But then Waters went hard after Bush when he was President and he still won again in 2004 So his views don't have much effect on voters so why bother?

      @BillyHell01@BillyHell013 жыл бұрын
    • Matt Porter Waters went hard after Bush in 2007 and Bush was out by 2008. Whether it has an effect or not isn’t the only point in expressing dissent. There is a catharsis in the expression itself.

    • @@jasonlefler3456 Bush couldn't run again he had won the most times that were possible, like after Trump wins again in a couple of months he won't be allowed to ran again, So with no future elections for him to worry about he will Crush the recent Terrorist groups like BLM (Burn, Loot, Murder) and Antifa and restore order and get the economy back to the highest levels ever again - If not I will have fun watching America become a third world country Under a senile old man and a woman who Fu*ked her way to the top, as south Americans in their millions come for that free stuff - it will be fun either way

I should have seen the "latest" tour a week or two ago were the world not coming to an end. Hope Roger is keeping that tour concept on ice, though I imagine it might have been a very different show in Summer 2020 before the American election vs 2021.
