  • I ask that you watch the whole video and listen to everything I said and not skip through. If you skip through you miss parts of what is actually being said. I already have people saying I said something I specifically did not say. We don't all have to agree but it's not right for you to make up a message I didn't give. I never said its ridiculous to spend a lot of money on clothes. I literally have extremely expensive clothes. I also didn't say not wearing logos was bad. I showed you examples of me wearing logos and of me not wearing them. I specifically said there's nothing wrong with not wearing logos and that minimalism is lovely if that's your style. We can have a difference of opinions on this topic and remain respectful towards each other.

    • Girl, this is exactly why I hate social media sometimes people just misconstrue and they come up with their own dialogue. Don’t let this thing bother you. You’re entitled to your opinion and everything that you said is spot on. I love you you know in my eyes, you can do no wrong and you haven’t.

  • I think part of the issue is people are so inauthentic they’ll go with whatever trend is popular now, sway wherever the wind blows I also think this trend is almost a backlash to people of color now being able to afford these higher priced luxury items and these brand, wanting to keep it to a certain group of people you see it with these astronomical price increases you see it with people making fun of certain people who like logos or more flashier items it’s way more deeper than just wanting to look like you come from money and who cares I would rather be from new money because you actually had to work to get to where you are it wasn’t something that was handed to you. There’s no shame in that.

    @ndelva96@ndelva9611 ай бұрын
    • There is absolutely no shame in being new money at all! You're absolutely right it certainly has to do with people of color having more access now. I tried to go deep without going to deep.

  • It really resonated with me when you said that people spend money on what they value and that display of wealth can actually be very loud (I paraphrased). They can be quiet in clothing but LOUD in their leisure hobbies (boating, yacht parties, etc) or even with jewelry they buy and don’t wear outside of the private gatherings they go to. Lovely video! Thank you.

But I could always vibe you were about the fashion, the style and choosing pieces that were YOU. Not the label ! • This was a very interesting video. I didn’t know the history of the “not wearing white after Labor Day” tradition, so thank you for mentioning that. I think what is missing from this conversation is the fact that people with newly found wealth buy loud luxury items so that they can separate themselves from the lower classes as well. Everyone is using luxury fashion to signal their social status, whether it is quiet or loud.

  • I have watched a lot of influencers and seen articles about quiet luxury and I have to say you nailed it. Fresh approach and honest. I have gone down the rabbit hole recently and like you said, when you reach a certain price point there is a logo either literally or figuratively( the Scarlet Khaite sweater for example) SOMEWHERE! As a woman of color, I have frequently found myself on vacation or in high end stores where I’m the only one not like the others and it’s loud wealth gone wild. Wear what you love. Wear what makes you happy and showcases your best self and be a decent human! Well done and I hope it’s ok if I share your video with my other shopaholic group😉😉☺️

Wear whatever suits you and makes you feel good! At my age I have seen styles come and go and repeat! I must admit I had to get used to feathers and sequins in the afternoon, but oh well, to each it’s own! You learn something new everyday. Thanks for the history lesson about white after Labor Day, I never knew where that came from. My only rule for fashion is if you’ve worn the style or trend before, you had your turn!! • I agree wholeheartedly with most of the comments in the video. However I do have a difference in opinion in regards to the Loro Piana Cashmere Baseball Cap. You are not simply paying for just the quality and the brand name. The hat in question is made entirely of not just cashmere, but of a cashmere that's been treated with a material that makes it completely waterproof. Most other "luxury hats" are made out of synthetic and/or blended fabrics that are much easier/cheaper to manufacture and are subsequently less breathable and have a noticeably rougher hand. Therefore, quiet luxury is not just about elegance and refinement; it's also about an appreciation for exclusive fabrics and treatments that are absolutely rare. Ultimately, you're paying for the exclusive natural materials and finishing that comes along with said products.
