It was pretty obvious from the press conference that he's not a Villa fan anymore, stated specifically that it was just the childhood.
@@skypekai there is such a thing as professionalism , all the same. He may not be a super fan, and is prob tired of it being mentioned, so he'd much prefer to speak about it as a job. Also, like he said, let his family be the ones to get carried away with it all.

As an Orient fan, I watched Dean Smith as a rock at the back. He's gone on to be successful at Brentford and there's no reason why he can't go the extra step with Villa. Good appointment.
Dean Smiths sounds like a guy you would love to have a few pints with down the pub , I thought he was going to be very aggressive in his interview and replies and aloof , but the guy is very charismatic UTV , Let the Deano show begin at the weekend , I can’t wait ⚽️👍

He talked about being at the club when he was younger and his family being fans but he also has a job to do so its not all about him being a fan
Because he loves more than one club since his playing days
He wants people to keep their feet on the ground that's why. He didn't get the job JUST BECAUSE he's a Villa fan. Some people think simply because he's a supporter he can work miracles now that he's got the top job but he's trying to say that it's not as straight forward as that. And it isn't. Give him time and space and the respect he deserves as a coach/manager who's worked hard to get here. He started at the bottom and worked hard to learn and succeed and climb to where he is now.
