NEW YEAR’S CAMP AT -17 DEGREES | EVERYTHING FROZE
Greetings to everyone from a new camp video of the Atik Family. In this video, we had a New Year's camp in -17 degrees. As you can imagine, almost everything in the camp was frozen. We tried to protect ourselves from the cold with a camping stove inside our tent. It’s quite challenging in snow and winter camps. So those who do not have enough equipment should definitely not try camping in the winter. We will be here with more snow camps. Don't forget to follow us. We used to tent camp years ago and wome up once with snow on our tent. Nothing like your camp and extreme temps. Massive props to you for enduring the cold and snow. I sold my tent about 20 years ago… you make me want to get one again and go camping! I camp, but in a simple cabin.

The tent looks very warm and cozy, the scenery looks breathtaking, but i have anxiety when you set up the tent and i feel tired watching you break off the camp, the equipment and decoration certainly worth the looks, and comfort, but you guys only use it for one night....

YOU each easily anticipate what the other one needs and just work effortlessly together! YOU make look so easy. I remember how hard my mother worked to prepare things for camping, and then how she worked over a camp stove to make our meals. Dad kept the four of us kids busy, she did all the cooking and cleaning alone! She seemed to never have a break, now I regret that as an adult. I wished we worked more closely together as a family, like you two do, so that our mother would not have had to work so hard. It would have made camping more fun for her too. WE had no modern conveniences like you have--we had to use a real outhouse for a bathroom. Ugh! WE used water from a spigot and mom made hot water on the fire to wash the dishes. WE had sleeping bags too. A canvas tent, and we did have cots, which was nice. I remember a few cold nights, brrr. I remember chilly mornings getting dressed in the tent, and hurrying outside to the campfire. WE always ate outside under a canopy that my DAD pitched, tied to trees and sat a hard wooden picnic table. NO soft chairs. Dad had it figured out that we could have a covered walkway from the picnic table to the tent in case of bad weather. I think my favorite camping was at the beach--where there were public restrooms and showers!! Hot and cold running water and flush toilets! WE still camped in a large tent, cooked on a camp stove and campfire. WE felt pretty spoiled having flush toilets just up the trail from our campsite.
