Let’s be honest. You can’t really go as long as clash of clans here. It’s basically impossible for a game like clash Royale.

Used to play in the pro seen, top 1000 miner cycle. Was playing since the start.. wow it was such a magical game. It was so simple, like chess. Anyone could pick it up and make it to the top if you were smart enough. Now... its to much.. it was such a simple game before. The key difference is it DIDNT feel like a damn cash grab. It felt like game.. that you could spend money to get cards leveled faster. PERIOD... everyone was ok with that.. Now its a damn gatcha game xD

Bad and unsustainable business model. Completely overhaul the monetisation system and focus on cosmetics or add a rotation like Hearthstone

Honestly it’s hard to tell at this point considering that they are adding a lot of new content so far in 2024. I could see the game go on for like 10 more years but it could also die in like a year depending on what changes they do or don’t make. Very unpredictable in my opinion.

The part that made me hate the game (still can’t stop playing) was when they took away the good season pass. Now it’s like they don’t even care. All events are the same and they made clan wars v2 even worse when adding tower troops and forgetting about it.

People complaining that it’s too complicated and too much going on, ur just too used to simplicity, u need to learn to overcome and adapt. I’ve been a clash Royale player since start and still playing strong to this day

As a person who has multiple accounts even one from 2016 when the game launched, I feel angered by what they are doing with lvl 15. The reason I feel this is that I believe that supercell was targeting content creators and top league players. If you don’t have all lvl cards on Clash, you will be watched less and people want to feel max completion. OJ had to max out his account just for this.

Yes, it will. Unlike Clash of Clans, where farming dead bases is a literal strategy that is birthed from a subset of accounts that quit the game. Clash Royale is 100% dependent on having an existing player base to function properly. You need another person to play the game and have fun, and there is no way around this problem. The essence of any 1v1 game is that you have access to opponents that are at a roughly similar skill level as you are. If you don't have that, you don't have a functioning game anymore. As soon as the numbers get low enough that you can't consistently match up with opponents at your skill level, the game actually dies for anyone that isn't in the top 1%, or arguably even the top 1000 players. With a dead game, progression becomes impossible since you need to win a game to get a chest. So there would be literally no point in playing the game if you can't properly make progress in game. Patching this up with bots wouldn't work. Since ideally you want the player to win more often than the bot does, and fighting games and chess have proven that it is currently still impossible to program a bot that will play with the level of intentional strategic variance that Humans do. So they will never quite match up to any moderately skilled human. There is only one way I can see the game existing long term/past its full on death/decline of its play base. Supercell could do something similar to Pokemon Showdown, where all the tools available in the game are free and readily accessible to everyone. So that even when there is a low player count, you can still play the game with friends if you wanted to. But since Super Cell has monetized almost every aspect of this game, it's likely never going to happen... Lmao.

As long as they don't do anything to enable and encourage the midladder players to play anything but the same old ebarbs mk wizard bullshit, there won't be any new players that would want to stick around. It's so boring to play against the same deck over and over even in league 6-7 and 8k trophies. I'd love to see changes regarding the midladder meta

I think it could be saved, but supercell isn’t going to try to save it. I despise this idea, but the only way to save it would be to reboot it. This would be terrible for the people who payed a LOT of money, but overhauling the game and using extreme testing, rereleasing it is the only way I think it could be saved.

I'm pretty sure this game is already kinda slowly getting abandoned. Think about it, there was a proper big update since evolutions and level 15 last year, also there wasn't a TV royale episode as well. Right now all this game receives is just new evolutions and new season updates. All community managers quietly quit their jobs and were moved to other projects, the only known officlal left is a random turkish girl who was put as a replacement. Right now it feels like this game entered full cash in mode with ridiculous p2w stuff like new tower troops, evolutions or shop offers, they're purposely trying to chew as much profit as possible while game is still alive.

Tower troops should have never been added. It makes matches up rock paper siccors and it makes you relearn all of the intereactions again whic isent good for new players.

Realistically, they should focus more on balancing the game instead of adding anything new for a long while. Make it less pay-to-win and make shit like the evolutions fit in the game better, it feels like to counteract P2W players theyve just been giving freebees. Instead they should just remove ways to get the evos by paying and give better ways to obtain a few cards, why not put them in the event item roads? Why not put the new evolutions in the crown shop along with the random one? Honestly I think leveling up I'd interesting bit it's way too much now, takes the strategy out of the game when someone can cockslap you with their level 14 deck at arena 11.

The balancing is just fucked it’s not like chess anymore I made a max pekka mega knight deck and it wasn’t fun to play I used no skill and won game after game it’s useless to play with skill even though it’s so much more fun

I Honestly Think Clash royale will be discontinued before 2030, along with Boom Beach. I'll be weird to see Hay Day outlive Clash Royale. I think Supercell is putting all their Eggs in Squad Busters, hence why it is gowing Global unannounced. This is most likely Tencent's doing as they want to sell out Clash royale while making Squad buster the new money raker. Gacha games historically never last long without Powercreep, and while Clash royale did an amazing job with Balancing, it sadly does not aling with Profit, hence why they release OP Evos/Card then properly nerf them next update.
