It's even easier to keep your own groove if your tinnitus is dialed up to eleven.
It also helps to listen to the voices in your head
😂😂
😂😂😂
😂
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 😂🤣
Really cool! I do feel like it's in a way easier for Cory to keep track of his playing here as the bassline grooves in itself. With a simple bassline with a lot of space it's hard to keep track of where you are between the notes. That's just how I feel though.
Exactly my thoughts, i was going to comment that ! Many people think that it's harder to keep track of the rhythm with busy and fast paced lines, when in fact it's the absolute opposite, it's way harder to keep the rhythm playing a slow bassline with lots off space between the notes So the video was cool, but the first one was more impressive ;)
Yes... more then in part 1 but still to easy for the bass player timingwise :-)
Agreed, not really a challenge here. That being said, Petar is actually focussing on sounding good and not so much on throwing Cory off.
This kinda stuff makes me miss jamming with people. Not in a serious band context or anything, just riffing out for a couple hours and having fun.
Same!!
My self-producing solo artist friend has been so fixated on recording lately that he can never just jam. The moment we come up with one part, he has to spend the whole day now recording a song. Even though he never plans to do anything with it. So i go from wanting to free jam to having to play alone to a metronome all day
I'm sorry. Time for a new jam buddy.@@coreyw5981
Crazy. That bass line was so groovy it kept the drummer in the pocket
Haha, this time it actually seemed more like Petar was hardly capable of even trying to throw anyone off, but rather being held captive himself by Cory's infectious bass riff! Insanely great stuff whatsoever though!
this is wat happened
I’m not convinced this series isn’t just a ploy to deliver us the tightest, funkiest beats on the planet.
Oh, it is. It's gotta be.
Petar is literally one of the coolest people on earth.
Great idea to use the drummer's cymbals to dry those sweaty socks.
lmao huahahahahaaaaaa ! I guess they dry up very quick because the rythm is so H O T 🔥🔥🔥 you have to watch out that they don't vaporise into "magic" dope
This one felt more in the pocket than part 1 (meaning the drums were less disruptive to track to). I still loved it though.
Those singles on the left hand ride bell are nuts
This is so painful yet so elegant
Now we need Cory to keep displacing the groove while Petar plays something simple and slow on the drums.
1:54 cruelty
They make it look so easy
Petar tries to throw Cory off, inadvertently greats coolest funk groove of all time.
I tried keeping time myself while watching… couldn’t do it for more than 8 -12 bars. No idea how you guy do that. That’s probably why I make my living in IT not music 😂 Mad respect for Cory and ALL the musicians in the Wong Notes. What a collection of talent.
I only there was a music genere were shenanigans like that make it to the final record, i would like to listen to that shit if i need to be hyped up.
There is. It's called progressive rock
Prog metal, jazz
I love these guys. 😂 KEEP IT UP CORY AND PETAR! Saw you guys in Dallas last year. Epic performance. 💪🏻
Thoroughly enjoyed both of these
we need a longer version of this
I could watch hours of this. Both of yall talented as hell. In the pocket is an understatement lol
Petar's snare is just so incredible
As always just amazing control. Why do you play slap on a jazz bass? Bc it always sounds so good!
This is excellent!!
Love this and love improve! Grew up playing prog metal so it’s in my soul! This would be a breeze for me as well!
Petar is gold!
This is how Tool writes songs. 😂
Excuse me while I have this on loop for the next 8.5 hours
What does he have on the cymbals? Looks like a nice way to redice the sound without crushing the tone. I might want this for my setup to save my bandmates the volume. Incredible drumming from this guy as well.
Just a bundle of dried pasta
Probly a fuckin beanbag, bro. Of the long variety. Big assed mini bean bag. Not quite a door sweep beanbag, but a longey just the same.
**PEH-TAR JAN-JICK**
Damn, petar J! This guy was insane live! Like actual highest point of any concert I’ve seen.
So CW just keeping it altogether - holding it down for the big drum solo 🎵🥁🎶
I feel like guitarists, especially bass guitarists have good enough feel to play their instruments deaf lol
Nah nah nah, that was a looper 😂
Drummer had a much harder time than basis on this one
Petar is a madman!
My inability to play would really throw the bass off ! He would leave
I love this :D
코리아재 베이스도 잘 치셨네... 드럼 저리 흩어져 있는 것처럼 보이면서도 정교한 플레이가 참 경이롭다
Petar needs his own Drum-Show!
Music like this somehow perfectly hits exactly my taste of music, it is amazing.
One of my favourite things to do as a drummer is just randomly start playing 5/4 over a 4/4 song an watch everyones reaction.
After seeing Cory's bass chops, I wish he and Joe would have switched instruments at Vulfpeck's recent stint in Brooklyn. But maybe you guys did. I was just at the opening show.
Nice groove.
And than "he f**cking left the band"
I don’t know how we got to that ending statement 😅
Those poor hi-hats need a couple of sandbags to anchor them down. I'm surprised they didn't fall over at some point from Petar's ferocious right foot!
Petar is evil and I LOVE it!
You two are kings! Greetings from Serbia...
i love this
sensational
No words. Drummer is a beast
No, that bass player was locked in. I saw this video More’s drummer tries to throw himself off. Me and my old bass player used to do this and it was really fun but we used to work together to try to throw each other off instead of just trying to throw off a loop which is near impossible. Also, this drummer is a bit painful to watch. He’s got chops, but he just looks so mechanical and awkward.
tried the last one with my drummer.. needless to say i can’t do this slap and keep time
i first hear this guy from cory's videos...he is a beast drumer!!!!
Loving that base tune. any chance you could share the notes please ? :)
what's those cloth on all cymbal ?! i want them so bad!!
Yeah Cory and Petar, See you in Berlin 🇩🇪
he´s so fast on the drums the video cant keep up!
Nice Guys! The problem here is that even if Cory lets the kids play with knives, you two have been playing together for so long and are so familiar with each others time feel, that its impossible for either of you to get lost! This excercise is totally different if you do it with someone you don't know!!
Like one of the kids, with or without a knife? Yeah...that's scary.
In my last trio i was fortunate to play with a absolute beast of a bass player and we would do stuff like this and push it till our guitar player would get lost lol
Good music.
The dude doesn't fail
Dang that was tight.
1:55 I think he realized he almost got him, and then eased up on him.
what an unreal drummer
sooo tight
All about hearing- no- feeling the subdivisions… bandmate chemistry!
In the high school halls, in the shopping malls.
Bro has trauma from watching his kids
Where is Joe Dart sigunature bass?
1:10 was insane man
As a bassist, he careful when you go to sleep.
It was actually pretty easy except the 5 seconds starting at 1:18, and even that was only because the drummer really exaggerated with the loudness and intensity :)
You can't go Wong Sir...
Family 💕
Who is the drummer !?
they need zack grooves to try and throw this man off ong
Well. Time to shed.
Part 1 way harder
Drummer could have gone further 😂 but OK
Let Adrian Belew sing over the top and you basically have late '90's era King Crimson.
Weren’t they together in the 80s?
is he left handed drummer? that's weird but cool at the same time.
How is this trying to throw the bassist off, this is just a drum solo 🤣
Joe Dart who?
😂👍🏻👍🏻
If you enjoyed this, the “Nate Smith counts to 7” video is super fun if you haven’t seen it.
Great video and drummer
that shuffle is a big draw for attention I gotta say
I feel like this was easier for cory,
Let's see if that's still possible when you don't signal where 1 and 3 are.
jajajaja que brutal este video
That's what the kids play with on the Balkans. And when they become adult too. So, better give them sticks and drums to play on. ;)
No shade but slaps better than 🎯
it would bee cooler to see cory improvise as well instead of playing the same riff throuhout.
Stay in your lane Cory.
Hey, Cory Wong, congrats, you survived it 🤣🤣🤣!!! For next time, if it's not what you've already done, would it be helpful if you just... disconnect from Petar's incredible 😲👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 but nonetheless disruptive play 🥁🔥💥, and firmly keep the tempo in your head to stay hooked to his rhythm 🧏🏻♂🎼🥁 ?!!! Good luck 🤣🤣🤣 !!!
First
The drummer needs to put way more variation in his playing!
You need to put way more brainpower into your comments.
@@Drummr88 "I'm putting so much brainpower into my comments that I'm actually losing brain cells. Is that too much?" "I'm using all the brainpower I have left after watching this video." "I'm not sure I have enough brainpower to comment on this video." "I'm going to need to borrow some of your brainpower to comment on this video."
Not hard to keep time when you play the same groove the whole song
