Paul Knowles laughter is a communal experience. That’s why attending a comedian live is so different from watching the same routine on tv, especially if they don’t record audience laughter.
Was going to say the same thing. I watch lots of comedy and very rarely laugh. This had me rolling about. Because they were. Gold.
Joe is truly a comedian's comedian. Just look at the likes of Jimmy and Sean completely losing it during his bits. Especially the poem...that was bloody golden.

This stuff don't need translating, unless you don't really grasp the concept. It is our humour that keeps US on top. A little country, with REAL HEART.
I'm glad Sean got to enjoy his time on the show before he left us I imagine he wouldnt have wanted anything but laughter for his last few years

Watching Sean, Jon, Joe and Jimmy unable to contain themselves for 3 minutes straight during Joe's poems is one of the most addicting things I've ever seen! The truly magical moment is at 13:50, when you think it has already reached the peak, only to find that it gets even better... I thought Sean was going to have a coronary!
Len the bear is one of my favourite TV moments. Comedy gold
And he got to nuzzle Rachel and cuddle Susie. That's one lucky bear.

I remember the first time I saw Joe reciting his poem, I genuinely hurt myself laughing! Joe's reading alone is amazing, but combined with Sean's reaction, it becomes literally the funniest thing I have ever seen. I don't mind admitting that I suffer with quite severe depression which can be really shit at times, but watching this, actually works in taking the edge off better than any medication.

Joe is the perfect example of "If you have enough personality the rules don't apply to you."
Everytime Joe is playing a character, it just looks like they gave him the costume and the props and forgot to give him the script.
I honestly think Joe’s poem is the best Countdown moment ever. It never gets old.
I love how Joe has a modern spin on prop comedy. There isn't many people that bring it to our screens the way Joe does and it's amazing. Also the way Sean laughs at Joe's intros makes me happy

I only know the Simpsons parody of which I assume was some TV novelty using a bear as an interviewer or something like that, can't tell if such thing was really tried or not.
I think Joes poem is the most hilarious thing to come out of a show like this or comedy, and also to make some seasoned and hilarious comedians to make literally cry out laughing and yelling 'please stop!' Is pure genius its amazing and will be in history as comedy gold 😂
I've only seen Joe in this show and, too be honest, the first couple times I thought he was goddamn obnoxious. But he's got the kind of personality that really grows on you, and now these old bits have me dying.

I didn't like him at first also because all I seemed to see was those stupid costumes in these compilations and they distracted me and I didn't even want to listen him. Since then I've watched full episodes and really grown to like him.
It's dry humour. You're obviously not British if you don't understand or appreciate Joe.

To me, he's hit or miss. Some of the jokes land. Some don't. That poem though...that landed harder than just about anything.
Joe is my favorite. Hard to tell how much he's doing to be funny and how much is real incompetence which is just as funny.

I was dealing with several depression today and then I heard Joe's poem and it's the first time I laughed all day...
I don't know how many times(a lot) I've seen his naming willies bit but I cry laughing every time, the bit is funny as hell but watching other comedians losing it makes it even better.
I cant be the only one who thinks Katherine was completely fake laughing to not look awkward at joe's Naming Penis' joke

Not often I nearly piss myself with laughter but Joe's poem was one of those times.
Joe is an absolute legend. Fucking hell! Nobody could have made Sean Lock or Lee Mack laugh like that.

My favourite is still Sean's tirade against the children of Mitchelbrook Primary school.
