It does, in the video it's just not well tested cause he only test damage that armor that is player or dog, doesn't protect such as suffocating, or also damage that are too stronge like the creeper, they deal like 30 or 40 damage when you are next to it

Oh also it is enchantable, on the enchant table idk yet, it's still new, but on the anvil, anything is enchantable (yes you can recive less damage after puting protection 4 on a sword if you have it in your hand)

A lot of what this was tested on were things that armor shouldn't affect anyway, like suffocating. What about vs Zombies, skeletons, and other hostile mobs? Also, with the creeper, you only tested when the dog is right next to the creeper. How close can an armored dog be vs unarmored and still survive? Also, this is exactly the reason it's still only in the playtest build, not the main game. So that people can try it out and give their feedback on what they do and don't like, or what they feel should change.

Also, with the creeper, you only tested when the dog is right next to the creeper. How close can an armored dog be vs unarmored and still survive? Also, this is exactly the reason it's still only in the playtest build, not the main game. So that people can try it out and give their feedback on what they do and don't like, or what they feel should change.

I have zero clue why anyone voted for this over the crab or penguin. It would have to be super OP for it to actually be worth it, and I never use wolves anyways because I can handle myself and they just get in the way. The armor giving a dog good blast resistance would have been enough for me.

In my opinion, Mojang staff is just modding the game, instead of adding useful features for players. If I were to be a part of their team, I would fix bugs and make it so modding would be easier or somerhing useful. They just add new creatures trying to keep the game interesting. You can damage the armandilo if you try to remove its shell and the process is painfull,still mojang just brush it off just like with every problem they do,devs didn't know how to add firefly as particle to mangrove and swamp to its enviroment but they could add ashes and similar dinamic particles in nether update,no the reason is new mojang are lazy because there is not notch there,if he was there the updates would have been more fun and more less laggy.
