We were with our kids at ski-school in Italy today while Jannik was playing and no one could stop to watch it, despite we all wanted to know how it was going😅...so the ski instructors decided to stop the groups to watch at least the last games on the smartphone and the same did the chair-lift men😂 so there were like 4 minutes complete silence on the ski-runs and when Sinner won everyone burst out applauding and cheering for him..really a beautiful and joyful moment of sport (and italian pride of course😂❤🇮🇹) Bravissimo Jannik !!! we are all proud of you!! Great example for our children💪

@@findmeintime yeah, especially because in the past there was only football with this "power" (or Alberto Tomba a famous skier😉), so now that it is no more so good here (I think it's only money-guided and that' s so sad) it's beautiful to see other "less popular" sports like tennis to excite and gather old and new generations cheering together for someone that represents again real passion,hard word and humility while fighting to achieve his dreams!

Jannick Sinner (and how he plays) reminds me of the great Stefan Edberg - a childhood idol of mine. They don't grunt or squeal or scream when they play. Their games have a very quiet, calming but deadly quality about them. When 99% of players make noises each time they hit the ball, quiet assassins like Sinner are such a relief to watch.

He's the most humble guy I've ever seen besides Roger and Rafa. It's just impossible to not like this guy. Today's match was actually the bigger test for him because it was his first time playing and winning 5 sets from 2 sets down. And though he had pure dominance in rest of his matches including Semi with Novak I'd rather prefer to see his mentality tested and today's match exactly showed his mentality which is commendable as he's just 22. Nothing against his mental toughness, but it does help when your opponent goes down in energy after two sets. Medvedev played a big gambit, and it's allowed him to beat other opponents. Sinner weathered that storm and was able to put together the reserves to last out the match, which is of course all credit to him. Again, I'm taking nothing from him. Going down two sets in a slam final is not something most people can recover from.
@@talastra i dont totally disagree. But the match was pretty much even after Sinner picked up his level from set 3 otherwise Sinner was only playing defensive due to nerves for whole 2 sets which resulted in Med winning sets. Medvedev should've just closed the match out in 3rd set if he had to win but he didn't. And remind you Medvedev energy was as fine as in 3rd set.. the pressure got him. Sinner was missing almost every 1st serve for whole 3 sets so Medvedev had plenty of chances to capitalize on that. So please dont just be bais just because ur a fan. Medvedev had upper hand for almost whole match until Sinner finally picked up his level. Nerves play big factor in finals and it's first gs final for Sinner so obviously he wasn't at all in his best today. Medvedev had every chances to win but it was too late for that bcus Sinner started playing better. As I said Medvedev shoulda close out the match in 3rd set and he failed to do that.
medvedev was insane the first 2 sets, he was peaking , but sinner was nowhere near his best in the first sets. I think he just raised his level slowly and medvedev didn t have enough to shut him down@@talastra
I agree with everything you wrote, except for the idea that RF is a humble guy. He's as far from humble as it gets....over the years, I have realized that RF never ever recognizes his opponent for a great shot. All the greats of this sports do it - just watch Nadal, Djokovic, but the young ones as well. RF has heard so much praise addressed to him that he's grew persuaded about being above everyone. For me he definitely isn't, and I am so thrilled to have someone like young Jannik, who's a genuine person, come into the spotlight. He's a truly aspirational champion.

Very impressed by how Sinner and Medvedev are both talking more about their process or mindset, the way they feel, than the tennis itself. Times are changing, they've understood that tennis is a mindgame prior to everything else. That's maybe why they are among the best in the world for a while, and other very good players are stucked with no slam titles...

Under enormous pressure, instead of playing it safe, he went for it and used the energy of that pressure to hammer that final point home and win the title with absolute conviction. I first saw Jannik play about 5 years ago and I thought he could be a slam winner. Oh he has a really good game-he had so many problems with blisters and somehow resolved it and just got better and better. He looks a bit overwhelmed and maybe a bit shy-I hope he can connect emotionally with the win-it's a joy!

Daniil's serve and 1st serve points won at the first two sets was crazy. 91% first serve in, 85% points won in the 1st set, around 80-85% in the 2nd set, while Jannik was not even 60% first serve in at first. Same storyline in the 2nd set but Jannik's percentage improved rather well and ever since the 3rd set, the serving really get even and it's all about who executed better play on court

Out of the three youngest players in the top 10, the two that have slams are Alcaraz and Sinner, with Rune still in the hunt. Really goes to show how much this game is reliant on mental fortitude and emotional maturity. I love Rune's tennis but he has ways to go before he can handle the pressure of big moments the way Alcaraz and Sinner have. Excellent victory and a huge step for mens tennis.

Sinner and Medvedev both deserved to win the title. That’s especially true for Sinner as he beat Djokovic convincingly in the semi. When Medvedev was 2 sets to 0, I’d a feeling that he’d win in 3 or 4 sets. The manner Sinner came back to win was spectacular even though Medvedev looked out of gas in the 4th and 5th sets. Congrats to Sinner. And hope Medvedev will win his second grand slam title soon.
Dude starts off by winning the first 17 sets. Demolishing people. Then he loses a set to the best tennis player ever. Could’ve folded. Down 40-0 and come back to break Joker and never relinquishes the break. Wins. Loses the first two sets to Medvedev, man trying to exercise some demons and come back? Wow. I thought he was going to go 21/21 on sets and 7/7 in matches. But this was more fun. Dude is legit. Gotta feel for medvedev. I didn’t see him losing to Nadal in 22 after winning first 2 but I totally had a feeling sinner was coming back. Great job by both gents. Fun tournament.
