As the European season winds to a close, players across the top leagues on the continent have contributed stellar performances to another memorable campaign. Saka has continued to lead the way for Arsenal as the London club continue to push for a Premier League title. Although the English team have been dumped out of the champions league, the England winger will hope to restore his fine form and help his side wrap up the campaign on a high note.
9. Rodrygo (Real Madrid)
Rodrigo might not be remembered as the best player at Real Madrid this season. He’s not even the best Brazilian at the club. However, his all-important Champions League display over both legs vs Manchester City have earned him a spot on this list. The Madrid forward has 18 goals and 8 assists in all competitions too, which is not a bad haul.
8 Rodri (Manchester City)
Although he flies under the radar for his club due to his deployment on the pitch, Rodri is one of the best players in Europe right now. Aside from being the best defensive midfielder in the world, Rodri has also made an effort to contribute on the attacking end of the pitch, scoring 10 goals and assisting 13 times in all competitions so far this season.
7 Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Haaland’s Ballon d’Or hopes just might be over yet again this season as Manchester City crashed from the champions league in the quarterfinals. However, he’s still one of the best strikers on the planet. The forward has scored a wonderful 34 goals, contributing 6 assists as well for his club in all competitions.
6 Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)
In 2023-24: 18 goals, 21 assists. Won Bundesliga.Bayer Leverkusen will be remembered for its outstanding campaign this season, and probably not for individual performances but for their sleek, beautiful, winning team football. But one player that epitomises the excellence of this squad is Florian Wirtz, who has helped his side to the Bundesliga title already with 5 games to spare. Wirtz has contributed exemplarily on both sides of attack, scoring 18 times and assisting 21 times in all competitions this season.
5Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid)
Vinicius jnr continues to grow into the player that football watchers around the world expected him to be when he arrived Real Madrid as a young teenager six years ago. Already having helped his team to a supercopa de espana victory, Vinicius can still bring home a Champions League and a La Liga trophy this season. The Brazilian currently has 19 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
4Phil Foden (Manchester City)
Phil Foden is having a campaign to remember for Manchester City. He’s already helped his club to a Club World Cup and UEFA super cup trophy this season. Also, he’s been a clutch performer for City across all competitions, although his efforts vs Real Madrid were not enough to help his side to a victory against the Spanish club earlier last week. Foden has 23 goals and 10 assists so far this season, and is still in contention for multiple trophies with Manchester City.
3Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
In 2023-24: 44 goals, 13 assists.Even though Harry Kane’s first trophy still eludes him, the forward has remained one of the most dangerous finishers in world football. Kane continues to Break records left and right for Bayern and has helped his team to the semi finals of the Champions League. The English forward also has 44 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
2Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain)
Kylian Mbappe is perhaps all out on his own this season. The PSG forward has continued to consistently show himself to be one of the best players in the world and the heir apparent to the Messi-Ronaldo throne. The striker has helped PSG secure yet another semi final spot in the Champions League, winning the Trophy des Champions as well. Kylian, who is playing his last season as a PSG player, has 47 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.
1Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) A revelation of a player, Bellingham takes the cherry as the best player in European football right now. The English midfielder is having a debut season to remember at Real Madrid and has already become a fan favourite after stellar performances vs Manchester City, Barcelona and so on. In an interesting run of form, Bellingham sits as the second highest goal scorer in La Liga and is Real Madrid’s top scorer this season. The playmaker has also helped the Spanish giants to the Supercopa de Espana this season.
