  • what everyone seems to forget about fifth harmony is that they all started off as soloists so of course they’ll be wanting to do solo work while in the group. also, i don’t think its fair to blame the girls for the music they released considering how much control they DIDN’T have under their label (epic).

    • @Cármen Marques the biggest difference is that little mix has creative control over their music and they are allowed to write songs, while fifth harmony were literally puppets with no control, while being overworked and treated unfairly by their company

      @sobaito@sobaito3 жыл бұрын
    • Little mix also auditioned as solo artist but they are still together I guess it was the issue 5H had with their label and CC outshining others were the reasons why they had an issue as a group .lm always stood for what they wanted even against the label and didn't do everything simon said and even though perrie was the one to shine in the begining she took a step back and waited for the other girls

      @mm-uw7ji@mm-uw7ji3 жыл бұрын
    • @@mm-uw7ji Facts. It seems like Lil mix got really lucky since the judges were really perceptive of their potential chemistry. All these years and they are still very vocal about enjoying working with each other and having each other's back. I think their genuine friendship is a big part of their success as well. With 5th harmony, it could have been much different without Camila. We'll never know.

  • Dinah and Ally are the underrated ones, they need to figure themselves out more and try breaking out that name that they were the girls on Fifth Harmony. Normani and Camila are the ones who could easily be recognized and everyone knows who they are even if you haven't heard a song by them, they have a lot of other stars who support them and they found their sounds and they aren't really known as the fifth harmony girls. (Camila known as either Shawn's gf or the Havana girl while Normani is known for Motivation and being a brand ambassador for Fenty.) Lauren she's sorta in between, she found her voice and she knows what genre fits her voice best at. Like you said, shes super inconsistent and doesn't release much so we rarely hear from her. She can easily breakout that FH branch and be known for her individuality but bc she doesn't release much or be seen much people still connect her with the group. Overall; all of the girls will always have that FH name attached to them because its where most of their fans come from but some can break out that attachment while others will forever be that FH girl.

  • I see a lot of comments from some Normani fans bashing Camila for her success, implying she doesn't deserve it or their fave deserves it more. These comments are really uncalled for. Both women are talented. There is enough room in this space for all of the 5H girls to succeed if they put the work and passion into it. Pinning the girls against each other is not helping anyone. Competition is for sports, not art. I like Camila's music, I shouldn't have to be called names and insulted for my music preferences. But I equally wish ALL the girls from this group success and I will happily stream new music from all of them when they release it. Stop the hate please and focus on the music & your fave.

Camila’s team messed up with her second album roll out by putting out too many songs before the album came out BUT it still went platinum. Camila is consistently everywhere. She’s on the radio, in the headlines, she’s performing, she’s in TV commercials, and she’s currently filming a high budget movie. Normani has a beautiful voice but was always over overshadowed by Ally and Dinah -even if their voices are powerful, they are nothing we haven’t heard before- and Lauren, where to begin with her. She was the visual of the group. Her soulful and raspy kinda voice wasn’t shown more than her charisma in front of cameras. All I just stated before doesn’t mean that their songs were bad. Miss Movin On, Worth it, Work from home, Sledgehammer, That’s my girl were bops but not because their voices combined perfectly. It was more because of the catchiness, the lyrics and the music.

  • I was never a 5H stan and only heard 'Work from Home' so far. I recently 'discovered' Camila due to her incredible live performances (Havana at the Grammys is truly a cultural reset). I am a big fan of her music now and really appreciate not only her vocals but her songwriting skills. I can see why she left the group, in spite of the significant backlash she received... An artist needs to have the ability to create and her not being allowed to write music in the group would have been devastating. Also, from what I can tell, 5H was a manufactured group of 5 talented but very young individual artists who were thrown at the deep end of the music industry factory. I think all girls are much better off as solo artists. What I don't get is why they are constantly compared to each other. The fans constantly pin them against each other. Let them all be successful, there is enough room in this world for more than one successful woman. Normani seems to be very well supported by celebrities & the industry. I don't have an opinion on her music yet as I haven't heard enough, but I will listen when she releases her album. I just hope the bullying against all of them stops & ppl focus on the music and their fave in a positive way.

  • Camila is talented without a doubt, but it’s clear to why she’s the most famous when it comes to all of their solo careers. She was the only one who had a separate manager. Thus, this allowed her to do solo work outside of the group and consequently, make herself more well-known and be able to showcase her talent more than the other girls. On top of that, Epic records literally refused to release any song that showcased the other girls’ powerful voices that some may say are better than that of Camila. Just look up their unreleased/leaked/scrapped songs and you’ll see that all of them either had little Camila or very fair line distributions.

  • I felt that it was really messed up how Camila was allowed to release so much solo music while still in the group. It was very clear that their label was planning a future for Camila because of how much they put her on all their songs and how much she was pushed to be the “main” girl. Ally only sung 30 words on their second album.....that’s insane. I know this isn’t camila’s fault but she really fed into it. You could tell she gladly took on the role. The label made it to where it was difficult to sing them to sing their songs without her. So formulaic.

  • First, Yes. I agree.... Camila’s voice is annoying AF. But I can’t NOT respect someone who works as hard as she did in that damn group.... While the other girls were just going along with the program and complaining about the schedule or contracts, Camila was WORKING - networking with other celebs and producers, writing music, learning to play instruments, growing a social media following, and working on her vocal pitch. When she was on stage you never saw her gasping for air (Dinah) doing lazy choreography (Lauren) or forgetting choreography (Ally did improve a lot). Did Lauren ever grow as a performer? No. Did Dinah? No. Did Mani ever gain vocal confidence? No. Meanwhile, Camila really milked that opportunity and even though she left, you just have to acknowledge that truth.... I hate it too cause that voice tone, 🤮 but she deserves all of her success rn.

    • Camila did not work hard, the girls worked hard but their labels pushed Camila to the front and gave her solo opportunities and she got her own solo manager while in the group. She and their team screwed over the other girls to set up her solo career at their expense. And then she and her team and PR made up a BS self-victimizing campaign and payola’d her, to promote her as some superstar underdog, which is the complete opposite of reality. They shoved her and her singles down people’s throats till a couple were successful. Now her payola stardom seems to have diminished, especially after all the exposing of the truth of her corrupt and racist behavior, plus her PR relationship that's been annoying and tiring people for months. But I'm sure when she releases again they'll try to push harder to score a hit or two again.

      @carpediemearth@carpediemearth3 жыл бұрын
    • You guys seriously overlooked Camila’s work ethic for the way all of the girls were treated, especially Lauren, Dinah, Normani, and Ally. Dinah was told to baby up her voice because her voice was too soulful. If she didn’t, then she wouldn’t get a line. Lauren felt like a bird in a cage. Her music now is the most authentic out of all the five girls. She’s expressing who she wants to be as an artist and not someone’s bank maker. Normani was racially cyber bullied by Camilizers, even though some claim it was troll. Ahem...Camilizers are trolls. Not all, but some are. She had to take a break from social media because of it. Ally was critized for her dancing and was body shamed. The girls recorded thousands of songs, but the songs that were made into the album only benefitted Camila. Leave My Heart Out of This, Don’t Want to Dance Alone, Sledgehammer, Worth It, Suga Mama, Going Nowhere, Brave Honest Beautiful, The Life, I Lied, and Not That Kind of Girl are just a few songs that Camila led. Whereas Lauren didn’t have a solo in Worth It. Dinah didn’t have a solo in Sledgehammer. How can you have one girl not sing in two songs. In two singles! Camila also began most of their songs and had the most adlibs. And yeah, you can see this as hard work with her also writing. But you can’t seem to find the unfairness of it all? If you can’t even acknowledge the unfairness, then I don’t think you should be spreading your own opinions, especially since you are raising someone up while bringing others down. Camila may have her success, but what she lacks that the others don’t is the freedom from Epic Records, the label that sabotaged their friendship, their identity, their voice, and their potential as a group. They are the ones who pick what songs go on the album (except for the last one because they did have a say on a few songs) and they along with the producers picked who got to sing what. Dinah mentioned that if they missed out on the recording, then they don’t have a part. They had to wait until the girl before them was done, and it could have taken all day. They could be waiting an entire day. Now, it could be a coincident that Camila just happened to be there all day long (so are Ally and Normani). But they still manage to bring two singles that didn’t even have one girl singing a line or breathing an adlib or background vocals. I’m not denying Camila’s hard work, but there was more than her hard work that drove her success. And it’s quite easy to see if you have a clear mind and haven’t ate up with the label fed you. The label sabotaged Fifth Harmony’s potential as a group for Camila by making her a victim and claiming the other four as bullies so that when she leaves, they can just throw the other girls away. And you see, that’s what happened. Their last album didn’t do very well because the label didn’t try. They label limit their album to just ten songs. A few collabs with a mainstream artist, playing the victim card, a relationship with someone who is mainstream, and now a scandal is what driving Camila’s success. Yeah sure it’s only just her hard work.

Her song writing is really great also and if she was more consistent she could definitely reach greater heights with her music. Ally is severely underrated, but she really does need to separate herself from that pop sound. Her cover of an Adele song was incredible and if she actually went more in that direction I bet she’d be popular. Dinah should also stick R&B. But she also has some sort of attachment to the groups pop girly sounds. I actually really liked bottled up, but her Ep was so much better. Fix It was my favorite. Not to mention her voice is so powerful and never uses it the way she has the ability to. Normani is an icon. She is definitely going to be the next rising star. She’s a queen. Love her.
